Since The Ordinary is now coming to Sephora (with early access 12/20) I wanted to know which products are peoples' favorites. I have heard such great things about this brand and cannot wait to try some stuff out! (Also, what great prices!)
Ordered it the moment it dropped online, and with VIBR 2 day flash ship, it promptly arrived December 22nd. The Buffet serum has been tearing away at my fine lines and residual blemish scars like a beast! Since I'm new-ish to acids, awaiting the restock of Glycolic toner to compare with my AHA's. ❤️
Couldn't wait for Sephora to restock so just bought the 30mls of organic argan oil (CA$6.80) and organic rosehip oil (CA$9.90) from Deciem's bricks and mortar store 🙂
My first The Ordinary purchase ❤️
The argan oil is thick and I'd recommend this for people with thick hair because it will probably weigh down thin hair too much. It also has an earthy smell that I've not experienced with the other argan oil I used. I'm reminded of smoky cheese - it's not a bad smell but thankfully, it does fade quickly! I am guessing my older oil was more filtered.
The rosehip oil absorbs very quickly and is wonderfully hydrating. It does not smell like roses - it reminds me a little of linseed oil that painters use (not chemically and NOT like paint!).
Just wanted to report back - I've only used these oils for two days and have noticed a difference 😮
With the rosehip oil, there's been a reduction of a fine line I have in my forehead due to a car accident so this has really impressed me. I also had a few dry patches of skin on my arms due to the weather that I was constantly reapplying lotion or coconut oil to - now they are gone with one overnight application!!
The argan oil has hydrated my hair which is nice although the benefits have not been nearly as dramatic as the rosehip oil. It works better than coconut oil though.
@pocketvenus Wow, I was thinking about ordering some of the rosehip because my elder family has always had good "old wives' tale" chatter about it in general (tea, oil, etc)... that's great to hear it really works so well!
The nice thing about these prices is if it doesn't work out, you haven't wasted a lot of money 🙂
Oh wow, I didn't know this was a thing! Great advice!
Ok, awesome! Thanks for letting me know!
I would love that! Good luck!
I have been using The Ordinary products for about a month and my skin texture is greatly improved. My favorites are the Glycolic Acid Toner, Azelaic Acid, and Alpha Lipoic Acid. I love how my skin feels after using Azelaic Acid...soft, smooth and matte. I also
like the Natural Moisturizing Factors and the 10% Lactic Acid. The one product I don't really care for is the Vitamin C suspension 23%. I don't mind the grittiness, but it leaves me skin feeling very oily. It never absorbs. But overall I think the brand is awesome. Affordable and very "active" products. I have spent a ton of money on Vitamin C serums, AHA lotions, etc. I am happy to have an alternative that works so well!
I honestly haven't been impressed with any of the Ordinary products that I tried. They are just that. Ordinary. They were hyped because of the incredibly cheap price point imho. I may try one more product I never got from Beautylish (glutton for punishment I guess) if it's available from Sephora, but honestly I've gotten no results from anything I tried.
Alpha Arbutin - maybe it worked? Or did my marks just fade with time as is typical?
Lactic Acid 10% - Sunday Riley made a more visible difference. Glycolic is better for my combo skin.
Niacinamide - Zero help with blemishes or sebum
Rose Hip Seed Oil - meh it's an oil. No changes to my skin.
High Adherence silicone primer - what mattifying and blurring? Pffft!
Azealic Acid - did nothing to hyperpigmentation nor blemishes
@talinder I was super-excited to see the line at Sephora, but when I read reviews on beautypedia I wasn't impressed. I might try "The Buffet" or see if the Vitamin C product is less grainy now that Estee Lauder owns the brand, though. It's nice to see more affordable skincare, though!
