The Ordinary vs Good Molecules vs The Inkey List

I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on these three brands. I mainly buy from The Ordinary, I dabbled in Good Molecules and I purchased one product from The Inkey List which I haven't used yet. How do you like each brand (if you tried them all and if not, how do you like the one you have tried)? How do you use their product in your routine (are you just trying an ingredient out or is it a reoccurring purchase)? I particularly like using niacinamide serums to help my skin become clearer.

RE: The Ordinary vs Good Molecules vs The Inkey List

I generally have seen better results with the inkey list versus the ordinary for my skin. but ingredients wise and affordability, the inkey list and the ordinary are neck and neck. to me, the inkey list takes an advantage just from what i’ve also heard from others. i’ve been wanting to try the good molecules niacinamide serum, and i just read someone else’s positive reply to this about good molecules so might give that a go. but overall, i think the inkey list over the ordinary although the ordinary has really sophisticated packaging LOL

Re: The Ordinary vs Good Molecules vs The Inkey List

Which company did you use the niacinamide serums? I've been looking into them from both but I don't know which to get.

Re: The Ordinary vs Good Molecules vs The Inkey List

@hersheykisseslv I haven't used a lot of products from the Good Molecules brand. The ones I do have I received through my Lucky Bag. One is an eye serum I believe that contains caffeine, but I try to avoid caffeine in the eye area. The other is the niacinamide which I received recently. Again, I haven't used it often, but have put it into my evening rotation (so it gets used a couple time per week). I haven't noticed anything negative, but it's too soon to notice any good changes either.

I do use several items from The Inkey List. I use the Retinol Serum, Vitamin C Cream, Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Glycolic Acid Toner. Not all at the same time. 🙂

I like the retinol, hyaluronic and glycolic items and have seen good results with them. The vitamin C is a little touchier. If you use it by itself, it has a tendency to pill under makeup. If you mix it with a tiny bit of the hyaluronic and then apply, it does not.

From the Ordinary, I use the lactic acid and squalane. I chose this lactic over Inkey because it had more stars in its reviews. Lol!

Anyway, I use the Vitamin C mixed with hyaluronic in the morning and follow up with moisturizer and an oil and an eye cream. At night I rotate through the various serums above, then mix the hyaluronic with an evening moisturizer and an oil and then an evening eye cream. Tada! My skin has been looking pretty good. Pores on my nose are looking smaller and facial wrinkles are pretty good. The only thing that looks kinda bad is my forehead. My lines are getting quite noticeable, but I just turned 59 so I think perhaps that was inevitable.

Re: The Ordinary vs Good Molecules vs The Inkey List

@hersheykisseslv Good Molecules is my favorite of the three - their cleansing balm in particular is really nice. While I think TO has had a lot more press and such so it makes it easier for people to plan routines, I find Good Molecules and The inkey list, in my experience ,to have more "elegant" formulations. I just have found a lot of ordinary serums I've tried to be sticky, gritty or to have poor absorption. I think Good Molecules in particular has really smooth formulas for the price point

Re: The Ordinary vs Good Molecules vs The Inkey List

Hi @hersheykisseslv - I really like The Ordinary's products. My favorite is their The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL . It's my go-to facial oil. I also really want to try their new product - The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder 0.7 oz/ 20 g .

As for The Inky List, I haven't yet tried that brand but I have  The INKEY List Collagen Booster Firming Peptide Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL and THE INKEY LIST - Sea Kelp Serum both saved in my favorites.

Some other great alternatives to The Ordinary and The Inky List are Babyface Skincare, Pacifica, Garden of Wisdom, and Revolution Skincare.
