Skincare Routine of the Day

This is a place to share your skincare routine of the day!  Whether it be daytime routine or nighttime routine, I know you have one.  From simple to complex, expensive to inexpensive products: show and tell! If you are anything like me, your skincare routine changes daily. Skincare isn't as showy as makeup, but it is the quiet work horse of our daily lives. 20200118_005115.jpg

You might want to include with your post: your skin type, skin concerns (& the weather where you are).

Sometimes if all you can do is your skincare, that is enough.

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

Thanks @2manyperfumes!!

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

I'm playing around with mists now, @2manyperfumes . My skin isn't dry, so I forget to use them. However, I have a Tony Moly bamboo fresh mist beside the couch, and that is the only way I remember to use it every now and then. Plus the smell ❤💧

@2manyperfumes I just used the glamglow cleanser last nig...

@2manyperfumes I just used the glamglow cleanser last night 🙌 I'm all about rotating my open products

Re: @2manyperfumes I just used the glamglow cleanser last nig...

It’s very gentle @lmaster ❤️ Me too I rotate all my open products.  Right now it’s the Vasanti enzyme brightened with exfoliater and the Glamglow.  Vasanti is a Canadian brand.  They also have makeup but I don’t know if it’s availability in the U.S.

Tonight, minus the Birthday Cake Balm Dotcom.EB94BA61-D4C6-4FFC-955B-6CD5B1CC0FE7.jpeg

Oops the Dr. Jart+ is a sleeping mask, didn’t realize until after I slathered a bit on my face🙄 the The INKEY List Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Moisturizer is for my neck/décolletage. I took a cue from @makeitup305 and have yet to use it on my face. There is a bit of a chemical scent that I don’t care for, whereas the Herbivore is more of a scent-less serum. The sample at the bottom right is Drunk Elephant F-Balm™ Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask, I’ve been layering the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL over it which has been phenomenal for repairing my skin’s damaged moisture barrier in record time.

I am working to finish the First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy A.M. Gel Cream
so it gets P.M. duty, too. Haven’t used the Personnelle Winter Care sheet mask yet, decided to let my skin marinate in the sleeping mask for awhile.

ETA: also not pictured is the Consonant Hydrextreme. I’ve been using it in the am/pm and patting it on my skin throughout the day to bring some quick restoration to my skin’s balance.

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

Yay, @eshoe, glad your skin got repaired quickly! It's the worst when that happens.

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

It was so fast, @haleyvvvv! Now just to remember to take it easy for the next few weeks, thank goodness for hydrating masks!

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

Yes, going slow is key. It's hard, because I want to exfoliate because my skin needs it, but also am nervous. @eshoe

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

I just like to exfoliate because it’s fun @haleyvvvv 😆 and I have so many more options! Patience, lol.

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

How's the Drunk Elephant Slaai™ Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser compared to the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 3.4 oz/ 100 mL or the CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm 3.8 oz/ 125 mL?

@eshoe

P.S. You gave me a great idea to use my calming products for my more pinkish skin on the decolletage (re: how you use the bakuchiol).

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

@l8totheparty I haven’t tried the Clinique, but efficacy-wise, the DE works as well for me as the Farmacy. The DE has a slight oil-scent, reminds me of another one of my skin care products but for the life of me, I cannot figure out which one it is. The Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 3.4 oz/ 100 mL has such a beautiful scent, it’s hard to beat!

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

Thanks, @eshoe - that Farmacy green clean is a tough scent to beat.

ooooo @eshoe I just used the Dr Jart gifted to me from @missjeanie I love it!!

Re: ooooo @eshoe I just used the Dr Jart gifted to me from @m...

@lmaster @missjeanie it felt like a true barrier on my skin, like my skincare was ‘locked in’ for the night. That scent, too, 💕

Re: ooooo @eshoe I just used the Dr Jart gifted to me from @m...

Glad you liked it @lmaster ! It’s been a great one for me!

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

@eshoe The bakuchiol I tried was from Revolution Skincare. I’ve had pretty good luck with the Inkey list so if you do try it on my face let me know if it works for you.

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

Thank you @makeitup305 @I’m very curious about other brands now, especially as I’ve discovered how well my skin tolerates and responds favorably to it.

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

@eshoe I read your opening sentence too quickly and didn’t catch the “balmdotcom” part and thought your skincare routine involved birthday cake! 😂🤣😂 Lots of great skincare here. 💗 Does your skincare routine change daily/nightly?

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

I wish @itsfi! We were just at a family gathering and someone brought home made carrot cake...and I would have looooved to have just the tiniest piece. 40 days without sugar is much longer than I realized😆 I have to make do with date shakes and birthday cake balm:)

My routine varies a little every day/night, depending on what I remember is in my fridge and the samples I want to try. I’m so grateful to not have sensitive skin and it’s so frustrating when it does go haywire. I really, really treasure my skincare time. It is my favorite part of the day! In addition, AM/PM always differ from each other because I use foundation most days and have to cater to its nuances, as well as the primers I pair with it. At night, I could pile layer, after layer, after layer of creams, oils, and moisturizers. My skin just drinks it up, especially right now. Love this thread!

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

Yeah, having sensitive skin sure can make skincare a little challenging, but it’s also helped me to know what works for my skin and what to look out for. 40 days can seem like forever when you’re working on a goal. Good on you and your family @eshoe for cutting out sugar for that time. I’ve done it off and on for periods of time but have mainly restricted it to sweets and drinks.

Re: Skincare Routine of the Day

@eshoe I also really value my skincare time! Layer after layer, it's so therapeutic haha
