I have a dark spot on my for head what should i do

What kind of dark spot is it? Is it like a sun spot?

I have some light brown sunspots on my face as I didn't really use sunscreen as a kid (which I regret).  Now, I always use sunscreen under foundation and I use a powder sunscreen from Tarte every 2-3 hours.  I manage to cover them using foundation and concealer.

My mom had sunspots and had them removed by a dermatologist but had to be extra careful about being in the sun for a while after.  This is an expensive option.

I hear some people try to use whitening products to try and lighten the spots but I'm not sure that works and how good that is for your skin.  So I guess this is the cheaper option but you'll have to experiment.
