Skin care

If my foundation has sunscreen in it do i need to buy a seperate sunscreen bottle to add to my face routine?

Re: Skin care

@VVSLR  Yes. I like to use a minimum of spf 30 but I prefer to use at least spf 40 to 50.

Re: Skin care

Yes, absolutely wear a separate sunscreen underneath your tinted one. You would have to apply a lot to get the required amount to get proper sun protection. 🌞

Re: Skin care

@VVSLR @Yes I would for added protection. Sunscreen isn’t as strong when it is already mixed with foundation.

Re: Skin care

@VVSLR  Yes, you should. To get adequate UV protection from a foundation, it’d have to be at least SPF 30 and broad spectrum. Plus, you’d need to apply a generous amount (at least 1/4 teaspoon) of that foundation to your face—and reapply it every couple hours throughout the day while the sun’s up. That’s a lot of foundation to cake onto your skin.

And you probably don’t cover all sun-exposed skin with foundation: ears, behind ears, neck, nape of neck if exposed, eyelids, etc.

There are products like NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer  that work well as sunscreen, though you do need to apply it generously. Even with those, I’d use a separate sunscreen underneath. For reapplying during the day, I’d just use a transparent sunscreen like Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++ and apply it over my makeup.

Re: Skin care

@VVSLR you don't have to, but I always do add additional sunscreen separately just to be safe
