To Enter:  To enter the Sweepstakes, view this Skincare Advice Sweepstakes post (the “Sweepstakes Post”) in Sephora’s Beauty Insider Community in the Conversations section (community.sephora.com) during the Sweepstakes Period, and post a written reply on the Sweepstakes Post with your answer to the question posed in the Sweepstakes Post (your “Submission(s),” which includes your reply and your Sephora Community username).  In addition, your Submission(s) must comply with all of the Submission Requirements listed below. Posting of your Submission(s) constitutes your unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules.

• The Submission(s) must not contain any images of medical conditions or claims of medical effectiveness, or any critical comments about other images posted on Sephora’s Gallery or their authors.

• The Submission(s) must not contain any advertisements, "junk mail," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes,"  “spam” content or references to other products, offers or websites, or any other form of solicitation.

• The Submission(s) must not contain any email addresses, URLS to other websites, phone numbers, physical addresses or other forms of contact or personal information.

• The Submission(s) must not contain any computer viruses, worms or other potentially damaging computer programs or files.

• Your Submission(s) otherwise complies with Sephora’s Terms of Use (https://www.sephora.com/beauty/terms-of-use).   

Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any Submission(s) that does not comply with these Submission Restrictions or that Sponsor otherwise deems to be inappropriate in its sole discretion. In the event of disqualification, the Submission(s) will not be entered into the Sweepstakes. 

By uploading a Submission(s), each entrant understands and agrees that the entrant’s Submission(s) may be accessible for viewing by the general public and any such posting will be deemed made at the direction of the entrant within the meaning of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (US) and the Communications Decency Act (US).  Entries that do not comply with the Submission(s) Requirements or other provisions of these Official Rules, as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion, may not appear in the Sweepstakes Post’s thread.                                 

Entrants are permitted to enter the Sweepstakes once per day during the Sweepstakes Period, provided that each entry must contain a new Submission.  Use of multiple email addresses/accounts to enter more than the permitted number of entries is prohibited. There may be only one (1) named entrant for each Submission, regardless of the number of persons who may have contributed to the creation of the Submission.

In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the Sephora registered account of the entry, which the entrant will have the obligation to establish. Entries generated by a script, computer programs, macro, or other automated means will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for late, incomplete, misdirected, delayed, or undelivered entries, or entries not timely received due to telephone failures, Internet or website failures and disruptions, and ISP problems. Incomplete information may result in disqualification of entry. All eligible entries carry an equal chance of winning.

5. Sweepstakes Period:  The Sweepstakes begins on April 16, 2020 at the time the Sweepstakes Post is posted, and ends on May 20, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PT on May 20, 2020.  
6. Selection of Winners:  Potential winners will be selected from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period in a random drawing conducted by Sponsor on May 21, 2020 and will be notified by private message via the Community platform. Potential winners will be required to provide Sponsor with their full name, mailing address, telephone number and/or date of birth, and will also be required to complete, sign and return an affidavit/declaration of eligibility and liability/publicity release. Canadian potential winners must also correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question in the manner specified by the Sponsor, and may be required to complete additional tax forms as requested by Sponsor.  For US residents, the winner may be required to supply Sponsor with his/her social security number for tax purposes, and complete a W9 form.  A winner’s prize will be forfeited upon the occurrence of any of the following:  (i) the potential winner fails to confirm eligibility and acceptance of the prize and return any required documents within three (3) days of notification, (ii) the return of a prize or prize notification to Sponsor as non-deliverable; (iii) if the potential winner is Canadian, failure to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question in the manner specified by the Sponsor; or (iv) the determination by Sponsor that winner is ineligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules. If a potential winner forfeits a prize or is deemed ineligible, an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing from all remaining eligible entries until a winner is determined.  If any alternate similarly forfeits the prize, Sponsor will use a reasonable number of attempts, in its discretion, to award the prize to another alternate but if it is unable to do so, the prize will be finally forfeited and Sponsor shall have no further obligation to award the prize.  All decisions of Sponsor are final and binding on all entrants.  Limit one prize per person/household.  Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
7. Prizes:  Eight (8) grand prize winners will each be awarded a grand prize (“Prize”) with an approximate prize value of USD $250.  Each grand prize consists of a Sephora gift card valued at USD $250.  Prizes are non-refundable and non-transferable, cannot be combined with any other special offer or promotion and must be accepted as awarded. Redemption of gift card prizes is subject to the terms and conditions thereof.  Sponsor is not responsible for replacing a gift card prize if lost, stolen, mutilated or is otherwise rendered unusable due to any act or omission of prize winner or any party other than Sponsor. Prizes may not be exchanged for cash value or substituted, except that Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute with either the cash value of a prize, or a prize or prizes of equal or greater value. Prizes are provided “AS-IS” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, and sponsor hereby disclaims all such warranties, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.  Applicable federal, provincial, state, or local taxes and any other costs or expenses associated with the prizes or the use or redemption thereof is the sole responsibility of the winner. The prizes will be awarded, and will be delivered to the confirmed winners to a valid U.S. or Canadian within 3 weeks of the determination of the winner.

8. As a condition of entering this Sweepstakes, you warrant and represent to Sponsor and the other Sweepstakes Entities the following:

THAT YOU OWN ALL RIGHTS TO YOUR SUBMISSION(S); AND

I would tell my younger self, dont buy that Revlon foundation gave me the worst acne and years later I had acne scars from it or any foundation with talc in it, it's better to stay away from drugstore foundation if you are very pale and acne prone, it's worth investing in a higher end for base products so they match and no breakouts. Also i would say if you are suffering from acne scars, the best product to use is retinol or a form of it from a dermatologist. It's way cheaper than going to the store and it's way more effective because its medical grade. Just because a product has a high price doesnt always mean it has high quality and amount of ingredients, brands have no legal obligation that the product will work, they can put the smallest amount of something in a product and sell it off that ingredient when really you are paying for the package and mostly sunflower oil for example or something you could've found in your house. I always had dark circles and the most effective thing I found is licorice root extract, which you can get at health stores for a fraction of the price of a eye cream that most likely will just moisture the eye area nicely. If you are pale like me, you will most likely never completely get rid of dark circles, very pale people usually have thinner skin and the low pigmentation means that the extra thin skin around the eye area is going to show the blood/veins and appear dark. As mentioned you can decrease it to some degree with licorice root extract.

There’s a couple things I’d like to tell my younger self:

1. Sunscreen: We didn’t have the self tanning options that we do now, but pale skin is preferable to melanoma.

2. DO NOT PICK YOUR SKIN: it’s so tempting to pop a huge zit, but use the appropriate products to get rid of it or see a dermatologist. Acne fades, but the scars remain.

3. Start a skin regimen, even if you think you don’t need it: the time to start using anti-aging serums and treatments is before you need them. It’s a lot easier to prevent fine lines than to get rid of them.

So there are many things you can do based off of your skin type, first I would like to say that a thing a lot of people got wrong, including me is not to moisturize oily skin. This is something that I found out the hard way because by drying out your face it actually makes it produce even more oil causing you guessed it, acne! I think spf and moisturizing your face is extremely important! SPF should be used daily and applied throughout the day, something else people get wrong is that if you pick an spf with a high number you will be protected for all day, this is wrong because of course you sweat throughout the day and then you lose any protection you once had on your face. Then leading you to premature wrinkles and giving yourself a higher risk for skin cancer. For me personally I wear a sunscreen underneath my makeup and then TARTE - babassu foundcealer™ skincare foundation SPF 20 - 8B porcelain beige On top of that for the extra protection! Something you can use for even more protection is using a powder formula on top of everything else!

The method I have been using for a few years is using a acne prone face wash and then after that I pump about two pumps of facial moisturizer into my finger tips and apply to my face, of course it also took a few days for my face to get used to this but using it long term it will work. Just make sure your rinsing your face with cold water in the morning using a little of the face wash and then at night using them both (acne prone and moisturizer) there’s a lot of methods out there but I feel like if you know your skin and I’ve struggled with my skin being too dry then too oily it was a battle but I developed my own very simple method and it’s helped out a whole lot. I feel confident in my skin when back then I hated it:( so if you are battling with your skin being too oily or too dry use this method, give it a week or two but I promise you it will work Ps. Don’t over do it just do it twice a day or sometimes I even do it once a day. -katelynn
