Physical (mineral) sunscreen irritation?

Hey everyone! So, I’ve always heard of the benefits of physical sunscreen for sensitive skin. I tried out the new Supergoop Mineral matte sunscreen this week, and I must say the oil control was amazing. My combination skin was matte the entire day. It’s 17% zinc oxide and 0.7% titanium dioxide.

However, I started to notice my skin felt tight and irritated at the end of the day. I thought nothing of it until I tried putting on my Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Serum on the second night, my skin felt like it was burning and I had to run to the bathroom to rinse it off. It’s been slightly pink, dry and irritated around me cheekbones ever since. I want to add, I’ve used the TLC serum every other night with no problems for months, so this was unprecedented.

Has anyone seen or heard of similar issues with zinc oxide causing excessive dryness and irritation? It’s looking like I’ll have to go back to chemical sunscreen.

Thanks in advance!
