Peel Suggestions - Sensitive Skin

Hey BT’ers! I’m looking for a peel, preferably something that would be effective even if only used 1-2 times per week (I know a lot are marketed as a daily peel). I have fairly sensitive combo skin (dry cheeks, oily t-zone). I received a sample of the Dr. Dennis Grossman Alpha Beta peel in Ultra Gentle and I liked it, but that formulation only comes in the 35 pack. I think I would rather start off with a smaller size to try, especially because I wouldn’t use it every day. Do you have any suggestions? I heard good things about the NuFace prep n glow wipes and the FAB facial radiance pads, but I’m not convinced they’re going to be as effective as a peel. Thanks!!

Re: Peel Suggestions - Sensitive Skin

@cianni Just wanted to mention that I use both the Dr. Dennis Gross peels and the FAB pads. The FAB pads are definitely more gentle and not as effective as the Dr. Dennis Gross peels. I tend to use the FAB pads most mornings to tone and refresh my face, but I swap out one of those pads for the Dr. Dennis Gross peel once or twice a week, partly due to cost and partly because I feel like I don't need to use that stronger strength of a peel daily.

While it isn't a much smaller pack from a number of uses perspective @cianni, my favorite is the Neogen peel pads.

They're designed for twice weekly use and are great on even super reactive skin like mine.

Thank you! Unfortunately that brand isn’t sold through Sephora Canada, but I was able to find it on Amazon actually! I normally wouldn’t buy skincare off amazon unless I had owned it before or it was recommended to me so I’ll give it a try!

Re: Peel Suggestions - Sensitive Skin

make sure it is an authorized retailed if it is on Amazon. Personally, I would be concerned about counterfeit product more on Amazon rather than just being concerned about a reaction.

Also, in my experience, the ultra gentle and regular peel pads from DDG are not that different so if you can get the 7 day pack of the regular ones where you are, I'd try those (and then only once a week to start).

If your skin is sensitive, you might consider lactic (like in the good genes sold in US) rather than a peel pad with glycolic like DDG. Zelens (UK based) is the best peel pad I have used that does not contain any glycolics. They are not available at Sephora though.

Re: Peel Suggestions - Sensitive Skin

You're welcome! Hopefully, that works out for you! I'm always hesitant about buying skincare/beauty from Amazon as well.
