Overnight Dry Skin Advice

  • I'm 45 years old & have been struggling with extreme ptsd & a newly diagnosed aniexty disorder since becoming a survivor of domestic violence. Since everything occurred, I barely leave my apartment & my skin changed overnight in the sense of extreme dryness. I use ##inky #theinky #skincare product such as their #moisturizer and #primer #serum too & nothing has helped. My home obviously is very Dry & I do smoke inside so I'd love any advice for which products to try, knowing I'm inside 97% of my days. A moisturizer, a serum, even a peel - I'm open to! Due to what I'm now dealing with everyday, I had to leave my career behind after 20 years. In a dream world, I'd give anything to try before buying as I currently am struggling big time mentally, physically & financially. So bc I cannot unfortunately try any samples, I'm looking for affordable products to get rid of this new issue of everyday extremely dry skin! I'm an ambassador of many makeup brands, but I do know a decent amount about skincare. I've tried what I thought would help at the time but even the serum isn't helping. I bought all 3 products from sephora but see they no longer carry the brand so cannot tag.

Hey girl!.. 🐌SNAIL MUCIN🐌
I had been dealing with this extreme dry skin on my face out of nowhere with no changes to my routine! Began in late October up until a couple weeks ago. Started with patchy areas then became my entire face but always worse around mouth and eyes. I tried adding things which either made it worse or dried it more!

FINALLY I start using Snail Mucin overnight sheet mask by cosrx I did that and then realized "ok snail Mucin not as gross as I thought" 😂 so anyway the dry came back after a day but NOT even close to as bad, I did another mask dryness improved again...so I added snail Mucin serum and a snail Mucin under eye cream and my skin turned from scaly literally flaking face to glassy glow in a week. I've had NO dryness, and can finally wear makeup again. It has improved my skin so much

I am 31, lived in Ohio my whole life (lots of ups and downs in humidity) and usually have combo skin.

Not sure why these ar uploading pixly

Re: Overnight Dry Skin Advice

@MsInfluencer I definitely second a humidifier for at least your bedroom.  Home heating is so dry that without some added humidity you are sleeping in a desert.

Re: Overnight Dry Skin Advice

@MsInfluencer maybe invest in an air purifier and/or a humidifier? Smoking really dries out your skin as well, which I'm sure you know. For me, layers of moisture are what really helps combat dryness. I like using toner pads or a milky toner like the LANEIGE Cream Skin Refillable Toner & Moisturizer with Ceramides and Peptides but K-beauty has lots of more affordable options. I top that with a hydrating serum while my skin is still damp (I'm currently using Numbuzin No.3 Skin Softening Serum) and then layer a moisturizer on top. A great, more affordable moisturizer is Cerave. I buy the big containers from Costco for my body but you can apply it on your face as well. Make sure you're drinking enough water. Try joining some facebook groups near you. At least in my area, sometimes people pass on items they're no longer using or you can post a request to neighbors.
