New To Skincare

Hey I always have heard about how skincare is soooo good for my age but I never know what to get. What are the good brands???

Re: New To Skincare

A good SPF is worth finding @AggieDancer2011

And a good SPF in my opinion, is whichever one you think you'll wear everyday.

There are so many great brands but in your teens I'd say maybe try something that won't break the bank, like The Ordinary or The Inkey list.

Other than an spf, just a simple cleanser (You'll need to wash off the SPF off every night. ) and moisturizer.

Just some examples:

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA +++

The INKEY List Oat Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm 5 oz/ 150 mL ( this is a first cleanse to start breaking up makeup and sunscreen, you would follow up after with a regular cleanser)

The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser 5 oz/ 150 mL

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA 3.3 oz/ 100 mL

Re: New To Skincare

Hi, @AggieDancer2011 !  You say "for my age," but you don't say your age or age range:  teens, 60s, etc.  You don't provide any information on what your skin is like:  oily, dry, combo, normal, acne, rosacia, etc.  You don't indicate if you have allergies or sensitivities to any ingredients.  What are your skincare goals?  Provide better information and you may get better recommendations.

Re: New To Skincare

Thank you so much for the tip. I am a teen and I don’t really have any allergies. My skin type is just pretty normal.

Re: New To Skincare

Hi! Yes, skincare can be good but you most definitely need boundaries. Some "skincare" products can lead to cancer, such as eyelash lengthening serums (basically just start a cancer producing tumours in your eye to make them grow) so just a reminder to be careful. I would most recommend tower 28 and a few simple cleansers (like CeraVe) I would NOT recommend drunk elephant which is CRAZILY over priced. For lotions, I just use a simple Byoma moisturizer and then I'll use a few ordinary serums just for fun and that's all.

Hi, @CocoD20 !  Can you provide the scientific or medical peer-reviewed journal title(s) and article title(s) where you read:

I'm interested in reading the article(s).

Re: New To Skincare

Yes, I love skincare. I just feel like I put too much. I'll still get better, while listening to advise I get. I think bubble is a really good skincare brand, by the way:)

Re: New To Skincare

Glow recipe, drunk eliphant, sol de janeiro, laneige, summer fridays, tower 28! Hope this helps!
