Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Used these last night.

First used the Feel Brilliant bamboo charcoal facial sheet mask

Fit?almost perfect except it was short on the nose area & I have a pretty average nose

Smell?Typical sheet mask scent

Consistency?this was a thinnish black mask. Serum was nicely saturated. Clear serum, thin side but not watery

Ease of use?you leave this on for at least 30 min. For my first experience, it started drying out & hanging off at the 30 min mark so I took it off & patted the serum in. It absorbed with no tack. My pores may have looked smaller. I didn't feel detoxified, but I depend on my mud masks to do that. My skin didn't feel tight but wasnt really hydrated either so used the DE fbalm for that.

Would I  purchase/try again? Yes I have more, I got in a 4 piece set from ipsy. I looked around for the price & from what I found. They are not cheap $35 but I didnt see if that was a set or for 1. This is said to take the place of a weekly facial. I don't think it's worth the price but will use if received again.

And now for the Fbalm

I used a thin layer overnight. Its white, looks gritty but you dont feel the little beads in it.  Didnt rub it in, but didn't leave enough on my face for it to be visible. No issues with it being stuck to my blankets or not. I did wake up to soft, somewhat hydrated skin. But my skin didnt feel oily either. I do have more to test but so far its pretty meh๐Ÿค”.... I have better. It also has a scent to it. Not unpleasant enough not to use but not pleasant either. I don't think its worth the price tag but maybe I'll see something great. Who knows?!๐Ÿคท

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I like that brilliant mask @sonnydee

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I liked the fit @lmaster maybe I'll see more results with more use. I have 3 more

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee @Itโ€™s too bad it cost so much.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I forgot to note it did "cool" but literally only a few minutes ๐Ÿ˜• @ather

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee so much of the feedback Iโ€™ve heard on the DE echoes your experience. The beads are pretty cool, itโ€™s fun to have a different texture, but itโ€™s a pricey option if youโ€™re just after fun beadsโ˜บ๏ธ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I honestly don't look at reviews until after,  to go into a product with a open mind @eshoe agreed pretty penny just for some fun beads. ๐Ÿ˜‰ because it really doesn't do much.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee I feel like I've heard a lot of people think the Fbalm is pretty "meh." I've only ever tried a sample, but wasn't too impressed.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I figured it out after I used the GR Avocado Melt. It didn't give me balanced hydration, my cheek for example inside middle - ok feeling. Around my jaw line & cheek bone, not dry like the Sahara but like it had nothing on it. @Shosh85 it didnt surprise me. I can use very little of DE products without breaking out. And the ones I can use are just meh... It kinda makes me sad because you hear all these great reviews but i spent enough time in the dermatologist office as a teen to know my skin so it's not the purge stage or I have to use only DE exclusively to see results. Its DE, not me! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ต

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee  Yeah, I've heard a lot of people say that DE products cause them break outs. Sorry to hear this is the case for you. I don't really have a strong opinion about the brand, but I do love the pump jars they package their full size products in ๐Ÿ˜‰ I may not repurchase the DE but I will re-use the jar! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

That sheet masks sounds fabulous @sonnydee; love the black and white design on the packaging too! ๐Ÿ˜

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I kept putting it off due to the long wear time but I'm glad I finally had the time & desire to try it. I dont know if its worth $11 - found on Amazon for 1 mask ๐Ÿ˜ณbut I'll use the ones  got. They'll probably pop up on ipsy again if I really like them  @itsfi

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Q is for Quret

Quret Brazil Nut.jpeg

Heavily saturated (but not dripping) in a clear, thin, and unscented essence, the soft, thin, Tencel material of the Quret Brazil Nut Mask Sheet clings gently and snugly to the skin, melding into the contours of my face. The spacing and shape of the eyes, nose and mouth need no additional adjustments. The width of the mask is just a hair too wide at the temples, hardly enough to require use of my mini scissors, which with this particular mask, is used to snip off about half an inch at the chin and jawline. The strip removed is more than enough for the sliver of my forehead not covered by the top portion of the sheet mask.

Half an hour passes very quickly as the mask wears so comfortably. With how saturated the mask still feels after my 30-minute masking sesh, it seems like an additional half hour could be had without the sheet mask going dry, which is something I'll try another day because, despite some tackiness after removing the mask and pressing in the remaining essence, the final results - hydrated, nourished skin - were very nice and perfect for my dehydrated, exhausted skin that feels like it is beginning to lean ever-so-slightly dry in certain parts of my face.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Unscented?? Interesting! @itsfi sounds like a comfy mask ๐Ÿ‘

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Yum and also yay for the mask, @itsfi. It sounds like this was a good one. I love a well-saturated mask!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Right @quspork! Sometimes the food / snack is better than the mask. ๐Ÿ˜† I love a mask that is saturated in sheet masks, especially when the mask does a good job of holding in the essence and itโ€™s not dripping everywhere. ๐Ÿ˜

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Sounds like a lovely mask! And paired well! Iโ€™ve heard that Brazil nuts are really good for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Yes @ather, there are some great skincare and healthcare benefits to Brazil nuts. โ™ฅ๏ธ I learned a lot about it after doing some research on Brazil nuts - I often like to delve into a little research of the ingredients in my skincare / masks. โ˜บ๏ธ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Happy to see this one here, @itsfi! It was my Q pick for the week, but havenโ€™t posted it yet. Itโ€™s the only Brazil nut mask Iโ€™ve seen. Curious if you have one from this line you prefer over the others๐Ÿค”

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah @eshoe, I havenโ€™t come across a mask with Brazil nuts in it until this Quret one. Iโ€™ve tried a couple others from this line and this Brazil Nut has worked out the best so far. Hopefully it works out for you; it seems to do a nice job of nourishing the skin.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  I love Brazil nuts and I'm pretty sure I've never run across a mask with it! I have this brand on my list to try out sometime - looks like there's a good variety and they're pretty inexpensive as well! Did you buy all the masks from this line?
