Lol @heartsmyface thats a good one!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

This looks like such a fun mask @sonnydee! Looking forward to hearing how it performed for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@sonnydee  Such a fun name and it is such a cute a lil' size! I think I remember @heartsmyface doing this one a while back!

I found a list of ingredients online, hopefully they're correct -

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@sonnydee Aw, I hope Fresh Gore comes back for Halloween. I've never used it but I've been curious about it, and now I'm kinda bummed I never bought a tube. It's been a while since I looked at its ingredients, but I remember it contains neem and niacinamide, and I think henna extract? I'm surprised it doesn't look redder, considering how red dragon's blood resin is.

Now I'm noting to self to grab this if I ever see it again. πŸ˜„

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I actually never have seen it but not surprising, there's so much out there!...I have used tcfs before & it looked interesting...the most I could find
β–Ά Major ingredients

: Dragon Blood Extract, Astaxanthin, niacinamide, adenosine

@WinglessOne hopefully it pops up

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

So I went to make myself a Gin and Tonic tonight tonight to go with my Gold mask... No tonic. No Gin. I'm still doing all my groceries curb side and haven't ventured to the LCBO so I'm working with I've got... Ginger Tea instead! lol. A very different beverage to accompany my masking indeed!

Spoiler
I started off the day with the last of my Bliss Mighty Marshmallow Mask.  This mask has some memories behind it, I remember buying it and using it for the first time when I was on an unscheduled road trip to Florida in 2019.  We were just stopped for Gas and I ran across the parking lot into a Target to scope out the skincare section (No Targets in Canada or right near me in the US).  I picked this up because it said marshmallow and I'd heard someone on the thread mention this one.  Well later that day the car died.  My impromptu night in a hotel in a random Florida city and I had my new mask in my purse while the rest of my luggage was in the car.  I remember at the time and even still today enjoying the texture of the mask.  More shaving cream than marshmallow, it never dries right down tight like a clay mask, but does dry a bit.  My skin did look a bit more bright after my shower (where I rinsed off) but I've kinda come to the conclusion that this happens after 95% of my masking sessions.  This wasn't any more effective than any other mask.  I could see where it would be a nice one for someone with zero skin concerns, I'm thinking of someone in their teens or twenties who's just looking for the fun of a mask.  No harm no foul here, but I'm glad to have it finished up so I can move onto finishing some others, I'm in a finishing things up mood lol.
Post Shower I used the Look at Me Snail eye patches.  These were okay.  The hydrogel was fine, I found that the serum was okay as well, but nothing to write home about.  My under eyes are dry and do go through periods of really dry spells.  These would not have done anything much for the really dry spells but seemed find for an everyday use.  I do think it would be a good habit for me to get into doing something like these daily, and while I have officially finished this pack, I do have another pack from the same line that I'll try to use more consistently.  No scent here, they stayed in place find so long as I kind of dragged the patch along the rim of the container when I pulled it out to get some excess off.  There was no excess to speak of in the bottom of the jar once I used them all.  Again, no harm, but nothing exciting here.
Tonights star was the Oozoo Gold Foilayer mask.  I found the serum, of which there was plenty to be a bit on the runny side.  The mask was in two pieces which I appreciated for ease of application and fit.  Speaking of fit, lots of well placed slits around the mask edges.  This is a mask that claims to aim for moisturization and that's something that I can always use.  I kept the mask on for about a half hour and it wore nicely, stayed damp.  I did have a few times where I thought I could feel a bit of tingling.  I'm starting to think that I might have reactions to gold in skincare.  I remember having the same thoughts after using some gold eye patches and another gold mask.  Nothing official, but I might need to keep an eye on how much gold I use. No scent to speak of and it did massage in really nicely when I took the mask off.  Tack if any was super minimal once it dried down. I'd rate this mask a A-, it did moisturize, it was a good fit, but the tingling knocked it down a touch.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@missjeanie  Hmm interesting about the gold. Too bad the snail wasn’t awesome I’ve been meaning to try them!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@ather I'm sure there are way better eye patches out there, but I think I paid about 4$ for the jar of these, so I can't complain too much for the cost.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@missjeanie  4$ a jar!!!! That’s not a bad price. I wonder if it would be more effective if used daily.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@ather I'm thinking any eye patch would be more effective daily.  I'm trying with the pearl ones that I just opened to see if I can get them going daily.  I'm not super confidant in my ability to do this, but I'm gonna see how much I can to see if they make a difference.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@missjeanie  Oooo good idea. Can’t wait to hear your feedback!! I’m not very good at daily masking. I’m lucky to get my skincare in daily.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Same @ather ... since working from home started in mid-march I'd say about 50% of the days I'm at home I haven't even bothered to wash my face until bed time.  Covid has impacted my skincare lol.  I was so much better when I had to get up and went through a routine to get ready for work!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@missjeanie  I can’t even imagine. I’ve been working more since covid so usually the end of the day I’m so tired I just take my makeup off and do my skincare. I’ve been slacking on masks big time. My drawer is getting pretty full.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Every time I'd see those eye snail patches at TJ or M I thought they would make a great daily habit...but of course I'm too lazy. If you do add them to a daily routine, I'd be curious if you see any results or if they still rate a meh @missjeanie

Speaking of tea, working from home I'm using my black loose leaf tea. You're a tea gal, right? Do you have any recommendations? I'm hoping to finish the bag soon.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I actually just cracked open a pack of the pearl eye patches from Look At Me @ShortErica , so far, they're both pretty much the same.  I'm aiming to try and do it as often as I can, but I know myself and I won't likely end up doing them daily.

I do prefer hot tea during the winter, as I don't drink hot tea.  I honestly tend to get most either from David's Tea, a Canadian company I believe, or I grab random ones from Winners/TJ Maxx.  I usually pick fruitier ones.  In David's tea I just smell them all until I find something fun.  One of my constants is the Passion Tea from Starbucks.  It became an addiction when I ran one in a big hotel and I enjoy it hot or cold. This summer I've been deep into iced coffee.  I've lined up a half dozen flavour shot bottles and seem to go through about 2 Litres a day lol.  Do you have any favourites so far, or a category of favourites?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@missjeanie I tend to go with black tea varieties or something fruity. I've tried some more savory ones like caramel or chocolate type of flavors but have to be in the mood for them. I remember the passion tea and would get the iced tea version never hot. I'm sad Starbucks bought Teavana and closed their stores. It was always nice to try a tea before you bought it.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Sounds like we have similar tastes @ShortErica .  I really enjoyed doing a tea advent calendar last Christmas.  There were for sure a bunch of the sweeter, caramel, s'more's, and birthday cake type of flavours, but it was fun to try them since I got enough for about two big cups of loose leaf tea each day.  I did find quite a few tropical and fruity varieties that pushed me to start with more in store purchases.  I drink my tea black and actually just had a 'Caribbean crush' this afternoon.  A tropical variety, it was nice.  I'm a bit on the ridiculous side lately and saw today that I need to drink more... I may or may not have gone wild and purchased a bit too much... I mean at least it doesn't go bad lol. Do you drink a lot of teas?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@missjeanie I probably do 1-2 cups a day. I want to get uncaffienated versions in the future. I'm still working through my stash. I thought I would be through them this year. But even with the extra time at home, I still have so much. Shhhhh but one of them is from when I went to Turkey in 2008. Still tastes good to me.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@ShortErica You just made me feel better!  I don't have any from 2008!
