This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!

For last week, some FirmX for my Frazzled skin:

After trying out some new cleansing wipes, my skin revolted and felt rough, reddening easily as well. I reached for Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx™ Exfoliating Peel Gel, a tried-and-true skin softener for me. For a peel, it is quite effective without causing irritation, redness, or excess sensitivity. I also used the Bite Beauty Agave+ Weekly Vegan Lip Scrub 0.7 oz/ 20 g which was gratis. I went through a DS of this recently, and found it to be a messy challenge to use. The FS is the same consistency, so the little enclosed spatula is a big help. I followed up with the Bite Beauty Agave+ Vegan Mini Scrub & Sleep Lip Duo (just the Sleep, which I cannot tag for some reason). 

Next I opened the BRTC Vitamin A Velvet Mask. It seemed like a soothing choice post-peel. It had a fruity scent, almost like a yogurt with berries-scent. The material was thick, gauzy, and fit/adhered well to my skin. So far, so good! The serum was clear, and not too drippy. I left this on around 25-30 minutes, and after removing found almost zero tack. My notes have "+++++" on this one, and it was - this is a mask I would love to use again.

Last night, a mask with Ginger after a few of my favorite Goodies:

The Leahlani Mermaid Mask is one of my current favorites. It is a deep emerald green, very rich paste that reminds me in scent of Fruit Loops. I bought a mask trio off the brand's website last December, and all three that were included are repurchases. I don't think I could pick a favorite, either! It was also Biore strip time, as well as some lip softening thanks to the PMG Lust Luxe Lip Balm.

The ESW Beauty Pineapple Bliss Revitalizing Raw Juice Mask, besides the fruit extracts listed on the package, also includes bergamot and mandarin - a warning for those sensitive to citrus oils/extracts. My skin typically does not react to them. The thin, clear serum was scentless. It felt like a typical sheet mask - nothing extraordinary or remarkable about the material. It fit well, and remained adhered to my skin. After about ten minutes, I felt some burning on my forehead. I peeled back the top to check for redness; nothing. I left it on for about ten minutes longer, then removed. There was no evidence that the burning I felt did anything, so I am not sure what that was, but it dissipated once the mask was removed. There was minimal tack remaining, and some softening of my skin. It was a decent mask, and I have another version in Kale that I will compare to this one. It was ok, but not one I would seek out again.

The gauzy material and the fruity scent on BRTC mask sounds wonderful!

I wish I could attribute it to something in particular, but maybe it was just a weird combo of sun/ingredients/stress/the day/anything-in-between🤷🏻‍♀️

@eshoe, burning on your forehead? 😮 You're brave to have left it on for another 10 minutes. Glad to hear there was no evidence of the burning.

I checked and since I didn’t visibly see anything, thought hmmm. It must be working!😂

Which is really hard to explain. I doubt the kale mask will give me the same trouble, but we shall see.

@eshoe  Oh no I’m so sorry your skin is irritated 😤 good thing you have some favs that work well. The vitamin a mask sounds delicious with a scent of berries and yogurt!

I think the off-brand wipes were not a huge help, @ather. They definitely were not geared toward normal skin, and I underestimated their strength. Lesson learned, with no long-lasting results, thank goodness!

Random pick. I was like, oh right! These were great when my skin was red! Put it on and was like, hrm. Not as nice as I remember. Took it off confused, not at all how I remembered. The I looked at the back of the package and... wups. Yeah, expired a year ago. Well. At least it didn’t hurt my skin. I really did like these.

@Weetart it actually kind of hard to believe 6/20 was a year ago. Disappointing that it didn’t perform as well, but at least you walked away without any adverse reactions!

F is for FIF

• This one leaned more twords medium thickness, gauze like material
• Fit was long at the chin
• Adherence was excellent
• This mask is everything the Extreme mask was not! Clear thicker serum, no noticeable scent
• Wear time was 20 minutes
• My skin felt hydrated and smooth and moisturized for days!! This would be fabulous to use in the winter that's for sure!! 
• No lasting tackiness
• A mask that I could see me buying a few for January and February

@lmaster, this one sounds like it would be fantastic for the wintertime. 😁 I like the brand's overall redesign; they did a nice job, especially with their sheet masks.

@lmaster  Yes!!! This sounds amazing!!! When I read the medium thickness I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be comfortable but I’m happy it is!!!
