March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
@eshoe, it was so much easier to release the serum in this Hanyul mask than from the bear's ear in those Oozoo masks. I seem to have a more challenging time with masks like these types but this was easy-peasy for me.
From what I've read, acupressure seems to be based in part with physical pressure so for the CT mask, it seems there is some significance to the pressure points built into the mask at the brow line and needing to physically press them. To me, tightening the mask wouldn't seem to be enough to stimulate that pressure. The straps are at the top and along the chin / jawline so tightening those areas could maybe help with the pressure of the cooling beads in the mask which would probably help with the depuffing action. It would probably help with the fit too, around the cheeks, along the bottom portion of the mask where it didn't adhere as well to my face - I didn't pull the straps and velcro too tight the first couple of times I used it, but I could see that helping. I'll have to try that the next time I use the cryo mask. Do you think you'll pick up the CT mask?
@itsfi I am seriously considering it. I love my acupressure mat, and my dermaroller for my face. I find that method very soothing. Do you think you will make it a regular part of your routine?
@eshoe, I think I'll try to use it regularly, but I'll need to give some thought to what that looks like and how to fit it in. ๐ค It's feeling like it'll be part of a morning masking routine for me. For now, I'll aim for once per week just to get in the habit of reaching for it and figuring out the best way for time management purposes. The instructions say that if you leave it in the freezer overnight or longer than recommended, then you'll need to "defrost" it before using it, so timing matters.
Hmmm, yes it doesnโt sound something that requires some premeditation @itsfi. I donโt know that I would remember to do it weekly, it just seems like something that would be beneficial for calming/soothing. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
@eshoe, maybe you could use this mask when you use your acupressure pad? It could be an entire at home acupressure session. ๐
I might fall asleep, @itsfi! In reality, I doubt it, but it does sound intenseโบ๏ธ
@itsfi the top mask ohhhhh sounds absolutely wonderful!! Those percentages do seem extraordinary ๐
@lmaster, the Hanyul Yuja mask is oh so good. I used the extra essence this morning and the smellโฆahhh! ๐ฅฐ Thereโs a handful of what appears may be similarly scented products from the brand so itโs on my list to check out after I get through a few more skincare products.
@itsfi @Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Ct! Those percentages do seem really strange! The cooling mask does seem really nice, but I wonder how much better it would really be than one of those cheap cooling face rollers
@Kim888, youโre welcome. I remember that there were folks on here who were interested in the CT mask. The results from the CT and those cooling globes sound like they might be comparable. The globes/rollers would certainly require more work on the userโs part while the CT mask might afford the user the opportunity to move about and do other things while having it on, if someone chose to do that. I havenโt used the CT long enough to see longer term effects but will keep an eye on it. Iโm not really anticipating more than depuffing and cooling, but we shall see.
O for oil
โ
@ather and I were chatting the other day about the benefits of face oils at any age (depending on your skinโs needs) and incorporating an oil (or oils) into an evening skincare routine. Our conversation inspired me to reach for this mask last night as I prepped my face into looking like a glazed donut before bed! ๐
Aimed at balancing and soothing skin, the soft, biodegradable cotton sheet of the Innisfree Cica Mask with Bija Seed Oil is covered in an unscented, rich, thick cream infused with centella asiatica (cica) and Bija* seed oil. Adherence was good and fit was near perfect - about 1/8โ too wide and long for my face shape; zero adjustments needed. Near perfect!! โฅ๏ธ
The mask was a magnificent treat for my dry skin that is forever learning how to best minimize the effects of maskne. ๐ My skin could not have been happier after 30 minutes with this mask - redness was diminished, breakouts flattened. My skin felt soothed and nourished, and had a healthy, fresh-faced, dewy brightness to it. A repurchase, without question! ๐ฅฐ
* Bija is a fruit and has been noted as being the Korean version of nutmeg.
@itsfi Oh how nice! That's great that it calmed down breakouts. Ugh, I don't know what's wrong with my face but I assume it's maskne. Sorry you've got it too!
Oh no @PrettyPaint, I'm so sorry to hear that mask wearing is affecting your skin too. My skin has undergone some changes over the last 18+ months. This Innisfree mask seems to be great for a number of skin issues. It's also gotten me researching bija as a skincare ingredient. ๐
โMagnificentโ is a pretty glorious description for a mask, @itsfi ! Added this one to my list immediately ๐
@eshoe, this is such a wonderful mask. So unassuming too, with its simple, straightforward packaging. Love it all around. ๐
@itsfi ooh wow! Glad you found one so amazing!
@Samtian, thank you! I didnโt expect I would like this one so much - isnโt that always the way?! ๐
@itsfi This mask sounds magical!!! I will need to find it!!! Glazed donuts all the way!!
@ather, โglazed donuts all the wayโ is right!! My skin is really loving oils these days. โฅ๏ธ So nourishing.
@itsfi sounds like a fabulous mask,,, listen, Back to the glazed donut reference... Have you ever popped them into the microwave for 10 ish seconds.... Just saying ๐
@lmaster, you know I trust you! But Iโm thinking I should test out for myself, this glazed donut ๐ฉ in the microwave for 10 seconds theory of yoursโฆ. ๐ Just so weโre on the same page! ๐
