Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐Ÿ’—

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Shosh85, these gemstone masks are just alright - good call on passing on them. I still have a 3-step mask from Vitamasques I need to try but so far, their fruit line is my favorite with the lychee mask being tops.

Iโ€™ve only recently started seeing more sheet masks with tranexamic acid in it. Iโ€™ve read good things about the Dr Morita brand and was happy to have a chance to try this one.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Oh nice! Both masks are winners!!! @itsfi I need to use my beauty roller more too ๐Ÿคฆ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@lmaster, I feel like I need to wear my face roller as a necklace to get me to remember to use it. ๐Ÿ˜†

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi oh interesting! I'm not sure I've heard anything about Tranexamic acid but that mask sounds amazing! Anything that adheres and moves with the curves of your face is always a great bonus!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888, tranexamic acid in skincare is gaining in popularity here in the States. I've been seeing more and more it in serums and other skincare products in the last year or two. The ingredient itself has been popular in Southeast Asia for a while, both as an oral medication and topical treatment product for melasma, PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) and PIE (post-inflammatory erythema). It's also been used as a medicine having nothing to do with skincare. A few years back L'Herboflore had (and maybe still has?) a Tranexamic Acid + Truffle Whitening Mask that was difficult to source (at one point you could only find it overseas) but highly sought after because of its brightening effects. That was a really nice mask, but again, a challenge to get a hold of. There are more topical products and sheet masks out there now with it as a key ingredient.

Catching up T is for Turmeric

Spoiler
The creme shop turmeric and matcha mask is very similar to other creme shop masks in fit and saturation.

The scent was slightly spicey but nothing overpowering. It was a bit tingly when on.

After, my cheeks looked a bit flushed rather than brightened.

overall, this mask was fine. Thereโ€™s others from creme shop I prefer but Iโ€™d use this again

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888  I wonder if the matcha caused the flushed cheeks!  Sounds ok. I actually like the fusion like from TCS

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888 well this sounds like a mask for the adventurous at heart! Happy to hear it didnโ€™t send your skin into irritation mode.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888  I've heard of people having issues with both of those ingredients, so  I'm not too surprised you had a bit of a reaction to it. Glad it didn't turn into anything too serious

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Spicy scent? Flushed face? Yikes!! @Kim888 I might need to stay away from that combo ๐Ÿคฃ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Kim888, ooooh, a new "flavor" to try - both as a mask and a drink! TCS fusion line has some good ones, but I've not tried many of the newer versions to that collection. Interesting about the tingling effect - do you usually experience tingling with either turmeric or matcha as a skincare ingredient?

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi The only matcha item I can remember trying is that Milk makeup toning stick thing and those were pretty soothing. I do sometimes experience tingling with ginger or pumpkin so I guess turmeric could maybe be in that family.

Catching up with S for Seaweed and T for Tomato

IMG_20211107_130858039.jpg

โ€ƒhighlighted ingredients from glowieco website

Screenshot_20211116-135834.png

  • Claims the sheet is 100% silk, it was very thin
  • Fit was good other than there were portions of my cheek on both sides of my nose that were not covered by the sheet
  • Scent was a typical sheet mask scent
  • No lasting tackiness
  • Wear time was 20 minutes
  • Results were nice, hydrated and plumper skin
  • I'd say this is more of a filler mask, due to the thin silk material, and the fit, it's not one I would seek outIMG_20211107_130903807.jpg

    IMG_20211116_084057818.jpg

  • This one was a thicker flexible white cotton sheet
  • Fit was great
  • Scent leaned more twords floral to me, not overpowering
  • No lasting tackiness
  • Wear time was 20 minutes
  • Results were hydrated, glowing and a touch moisturized
  • I wouldn't seek this one out again, but would gladly use it if I came across it againIMG_20211116_084103442.jpg

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@lmaster  I have heard so many good things about tomatoes itโ€™s a shame thereโ€™s not a ton of skincare using it!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

That's for sure!! @ather although I can't stand cherry tomatoes,,,I would absolutely love it in my skincare ๐Ÿ˜†

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@lmaster

Just curious, why the dislike for cherry tomatoes? I'm the same way. My husband thinks I'm nuts. Now I can tell him that I'm not the only person who doesn't like them but loves tomatoes. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@missy94612 it all started when I was about 8 ๐Ÿคฃ my dad had a garden and asked me if I wanted to try one,,I think bc the name cherry was there I thought it would be sweet, I actually got sick off them and never touched them again ๐Ÿคฆ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@lmaster

Woah, there's history to this then. Always is, isn't there?! ๐Ÿคฃ

Before the pandemic, my husband and I had a tradition of going to this restaurant that would have a special fixed menu for a few days every year - tomato dinners. I would pass off any cherry tomatoes onto him. ๐Ÿ˜š

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Naisture seems to be a great brand overall for you, @lmaster! I would love to see tomato in more masks, too.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@eshoe I know!! They are pretty good all around, I agree with tomato,,, as long as it doesn't smell veggie like ๐Ÿคฃ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

True. @lmaster! I always forget to categorize tomatoes as fruit. Ages ago I used to use a Yes To Tomatoes body wash that had the most amazing sweet, herbal scent. It was discontinued (of course) but your mask reminded me of itโ˜บ๏ธ
