Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
@Shosh85, these gemstone masks are just alright - good call on passing on them. I still have a 3-step mask from Vitamasques I need to try but so far, their fruit line is my favorite with the lychee mask being tops.
Iโve only recently started seeing more sheet masks with tranexamic acid in it. Iโve read good things about the Dr Morita brand and was happy to have a chance to try this one.
Oh nice! Both masks are winners!!! @itsfi I need to use my beauty roller more too ๐คฆ
@lmaster, I feel like I need to wear my face roller as a necklace to get me to remember to use it. ๐
@itsfi oh interesting! I'm not sure I've heard anything about Tranexamic acid but that mask sounds amazing! Anything that adheres and moves with the curves of your face is always a great bonus!
@Kim888, tranexamic acid in skincare is gaining in popularity here in the States. I've been seeing more and more it in serums and other skincare products in the last year or two. The ingredient itself has been popular in Southeast Asia for a while, both as an oral medication and topical treatment product for melasma, PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) and PIE (post-inflammatory erythema). It's also been used as a medicine having nothing to do with skincare. A few years back L'Herboflore had (and maybe still has?) a Tranexamic Acid + Truffle Whitening Mask that was difficult to source (at one point you could only find it overseas) but highly sought after because of its brightening effects. That was a really nice mask, but again, a challenge to get a hold of. There are more topical products and sheet masks out there now with it as a key ingredient.
Catching up T is for Turmeric
โ
@Kim888 I wonder if the matcha caused the flushed cheeks! Sounds ok. I actually like the fusion like from TCS
@Kim888 well this sounds like a mask for the adventurous at heart! Happy to hear it didnโt send your skin into irritation mode.
@Kim888 I've heard of people having issues with both of those ingredients, so I'm not too surprised you had a bit of a reaction to it. Glad it didn't turn into anything too serious
Spicy scent? Flushed face? Yikes!! @Kim888 I might need to stay away from that combo ๐คฃ
@Kim888, ooooh, a new "flavor" to try - both as a mask and a drink! TCS fusion line has some good ones, but I've not tried many of the newer versions to that collection. Interesting about the tingling effect - do you usually experience tingling with either turmeric or matcha as a skincare ingredient?
@itsfi The only matcha item I can remember trying is that Milk makeup toning stick thing and those were pretty soothing. I do sometimes experience tingling with ginger or pumpkin so I guess turmeric could maybe be in that family.
Catching up with S for Seaweed and T for Tomato

@lmaster I have heard so many good things about tomatoes itโs a shame thereโs not a ton of skincare using it!
That's for sure!! @ather although I can't stand cherry tomatoes,,,I would absolutely love it in my skincare ๐
Just curious, why the dislike for cherry tomatoes? I'm the same way. My husband thinks I'm nuts. Now I can tell him that I'm not the only person who doesn't like them but loves tomatoes. ๐
@missy94612 it all started when I was about 8 ๐คฃ my dad had a garden and asked me if I wanted to try one,,I think bc the name cherry was there I thought it would be sweet, I actually got sick off them and never touched them again ๐คฆ
Woah, there's history to this then. Always is, isn't there?! ๐คฃ
Before the pandemic, my husband and I had a tradition of going to this restaurant that would have a special fixed menu for a few days every year - tomato dinners. I would pass off any cherry tomatoes onto him. ๐
Naisture seems to be a great brand overall for you, @lmaster! I would love to see tomato in more masks, too.
@eshoe I know!! They are pretty good all around, I agree with tomato,,, as long as it doesn't smell veggie like ๐คฃ
True. @lmaster! I always forget to categorize tomatoes as fruit. Ages ago I used to use a Yes To Tomatoes body wash that had the most amazing sweet, herbal scent. It was discontinued (of course) but your mask reminded me of itโบ๏ธ
