Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Same @Kim888, I know a lot of people like his gel based masks (green cucumber, pink rose, blue marine, etc) but my skin never took to them, in any season. They didnโt result in any irritation or breakout but they didnโt seem to add anything extra to my skin that I couldnโt get with my moisturizer.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Itโll make for a nice go to mask when Iโm short on time. ๐๐ผ
@itsfi The Pixi mask sounds so nice! I'm usually not a fan of anything floral/rose scented, but I don't mind it if it's more of a fresh scent vs. artificial. I've never tried any of Pixi's wash off masks, but I've really liked their sheet masks!
The cuticle oil sounds great! I've been looking for a new one to try, so I'll definitely have to keep this one in mind!
@Shosh85, the scent on both of these were soft, and of real roses, not artificial. Thereโs a milk based mask in the Pixi collection that looks interesting. I passed on it since I already have a lot of other skincare products that contain lactic acid or another chemical exfoliant. I suspect but am not sure that it probably not is in too high a concentration or volume in the milk mask but didnโt want you risk it and be using too many exfoliating products.
Still on a moisture kick! I used this last night and paired with First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask 3.4 oz/ 96.4 g my face is finally recovering from the cold and the over use of acids!
โ
@ather my skin everywhere is battling the dry cold!! Glad you have some relief
@lmaster I know how you feel itโs the worst. Has winter hit where you are?
@ather I wouldn't say winter exactly, we did have a good snow, but it didn't last, then it was in the 20s for a few days, now it's in the 40s. It's never consistent until it gets to January
@lmaster Lucky!! We have warm weather this week and next week is going to be cold again.
@ather I am glad to hear youโre skin is starting a feel better ๐ฅฐ. Honey masks are so comforting ๐
@Cissy63 I agree and winter came in like a lion here.
Honey masks are so nice @ather
Yikes! Damaged skin barriers are no fun, especially entering into the cold and dry season. I hope you heal quickly ๐โค๏ธ
I missed the whole saga, what happened with the acids?
@CynthieLu Ahhh I like to try to add more acids in but my skin is super sensitive and usually tells me no. I didnโt think I was over doing it but I think the acid along with -35 wasnโt helping. I think I do this every winter. Iโve backed off the acids and Iโm in much better shape again! I have a few acids on my shelf Iโm trying to empty and I think I reached too much maybe?
Oooh geeze @ather I'm so sorry! That's a harsh weather environment.
Defintley, temperatures like that alone are sooo hard on the skin. Oh and acids are tricky when you've got the sensitive skin. ๐ฅบ I hope your skin stays fully recovered๐
@CynthieLu Thanks. Iโll try once a week for a bit and work up to twice a week and I wonโt go more then that! And I should be good for winter!
@ather @The arnica mask is so great! I was just thinking I wish they sold a mini version the other day!
@Kim888 I agree. I tend to use tube masks more because I donโt want to waste it. But most of the time the full size is so big.
@ather, thatโs great news! Happy and relieved to hear your skin is fully recovered and back to a healthy state. ๐ These Yadah masks are good back-to-basics masks and honey is such a fab skincare ingredient for healing and caring for the skin. Lots of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties, and itโs soothing and nourishing.
@itsfi I agree! I think I will still stay away from the acids for a little longer to make sure itโs fully recovered!! Itโs crazy how fast I damaged my skin barrier.
@ather Happy to hear your face has finally recovered! ๐
That Yadah line is nice - definitely great filler/daily masks!
@Shosh85 I agree!! Itโs such a good line! I think the honey and snail ones are my fav!
@ather Yes! The snail is my most favorite! ๐
