Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Spoiler

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Additional Info:

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options

There are 2 ways to edit a response:

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!

Merry Masking!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Glad it worked out for you @curlychiquita! Getting it on sale is always a big plus!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@curlychiquita. Nice selection! The Sisley mask sounds interesting and something to use in summertime since it's cooling. Glad your neck cleared up. Enjoy masking!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@curlychiquita

I do love me that Sisley Black Rose Mask. I'm going to use every single bit of my sample of it. Yay for getting it at a discount. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it; hope it works out for you.

Oooh, I spy the Sephora honey lip scrub! Have you had a chance to use it? What do you think about it?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi, I used the Sephora Honey Lip Scrub for the first time last night!  I like it!  I find it just as good as the Farmacy honey lip balm, at a better price.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@curlychiquita

Yay, glad it worked out well for you. I like it a lot - works well and it's so convenient that it comes in a tube.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oooooh! For me, this is one of those, “fancy masks” I’ll only buy with a big GWP after too much wine. Tell me, do you think it’s worth the price? I’ve only heard wonderful things. @curlychiquita

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@scott1201, so far tonight I like it, but I'm not at the level of "I like it for $160" (although I had a discount code).  Part of it may just be that I'm in love with my SK-II sheet masks, and nothing can compare.  But I'll post an update in the a.m.

RE: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I considered a hydrating sleep mask last night but then realized that the weekend is coming up and I have a friend’s birthday party on Friday night and a dinner out with friends on Saturday night so I KNOW I will need some skin help this weekend to get rid of my tired, hangover skin!! Instead I opted for GlamGlow Youthmud Tingle Exfoliant Treatment to get my skin in shade for the weekend. Oh wow!!! I am so glad I went that route. As always GlamGlow has been a winner for my skin! I loved this product. The tingle effect was pleasant and cooling, not harsh. Keep in mind that I live in a very humid region and I have pretty healthy skin and I am not suffering from any springtime allergies! As always the product allowed for movement of the face while it dries, which is very important to me! I need to be able to talk and have facial expressions throughout the process! As soon as I washed it off, the visible difference was there! Glowing skin and super smooth to the touch!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

First DE Babyfacial experience tonight! I forgot to take a picture, but I dermaplanned and then applied a *small* amount just to be sure it wasn’t too strong (stayed away from my mildly chapped nose. By the way I’m like 90% better now!)

Holy cow - I have NEVER felt a tingle that strong! I consider myself well versed in chemical exfoliants but this little guy packs a punch. After about 30 seconds the tingling went away and then I made myself remember to rinse after 20min. Excited to see the prolonged effects of this!

@scott1201 @Aaliaa *Bows head in shame* ... Have I missed...

@scott1201 @Aaliaa *Bows head in shame* ... Have I missed a trend? ....I...What...I don't know what Dermplaning is. 🙁

Re: @scott1201 @Aaliaa *Bows head in shame* ... Have I missed...

Its basically a fancy word for shaving. Except that dermaplaning uses a surgical blade (much scarier then it sounds) and removes the top layer of dead skin and hair when you do it. I've been waxing my face for years and tried this out to as an alternative. I really like it so far. You do need to know what you are doing (you need to hold the blade at an angle and be careful not to repeat areas) and I would suggest getting it done professionally first. I definitely get a 5 O'clock shadow (which is why I do it) but your skin feels a LOT smoother and makeup application is better too. @GG84

Re: @scott1201 @Aaliaa *Bows head in shame* ... Have I missed...

Thanks for the info! @Aaliaa I did laser hair removal on my upper lip and just minor peach fuzz, so this trend isn't for me. But I can understand why that would provide a super deep exfoliation with any chemical mask, I would be scared to do that, brave soul @itsfi

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@scott1201

Thanks for your thoughts on DE Babyfacial.  Like @curlychiquita, it's been in and out of my cart so many times; I ended picking it up in one of the Sephora Favorites sets. I have 'tough skin' on my T-zone, but my cheeks are super sensitive - my facialist always takes that into account when we do an acid peel. I may need to do some more thinking about how and when to incorporate it into my weekly routine.

Glad to hear you are almost fully recovered - 90% better is great!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@scott1201, I'm actually afraid to use DE Babyfacial.  I keep adding it and then take it out of my loves list again.  I have "tough" skin, too, but I use so many other acids throughout my routine (for example, today's moisturizer is 10% glycolic acid), that I'm afraid the Babyfacial will break it, lol.  I am soooo intrigued by it, though!  I hope it works well for you!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I think you could handle it, @curlychiquita! You’d just have to strategize the rest of your skincare around it for a day or so

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh thats a strong one to use after derma-planning @scott1201! I on the other hand really need to derma plan, need to fit it in this weekend.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes, LESSON LEARNED! Would not recommend after dermaplanning, @Aaliaa

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Haha! I would avoid all acids for a few days or use really gentle acids. Dermaplanning is exfoliating because you are literally removing the top layer of skin @scott1201

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Morning update: I had no bad reactions to my combination of treatments last night! After dermaplanning I typically use the korres 2 step peel, so I wasn’t anticipating anything horrible - DE is definitely much stronger, though!

The esthetician I had for years used to say I had very tough skin, so that’s probably why. Definitely wouldn’t recommend that combo to someone with sensitive skin!

@Aaliaa

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Good to know!! @scott1201

RE: Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yes! Please update us on how it’s working for you moving forward. I am excited to try DE too!
