Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
 

There are 2 ways to edit a response: 

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

Ooooh, I haven't heard of the Clarins mask, @itsfi. They had a milk cleanser I used to love, it was so gentle on my skin. I will look for this one, thank you very much for the recommendation!

Really nice masking sessions @eshoe! I’m especially interested in the Tatcha mask, it sounds very relaxing and luxurious. 

I would suggest is the Ren Evercalm Mask, it’s not a gel mask, but it’s just so soothing, calming, and gentle. It works great for a morning prep mask, to unwind after a long day, or to help Alleviate stressed out skin. ☺️

Yesterday's masking involved 2 old favorites and a new sheet mask.

The morning started off with the Oh K! egg white Sheet Mask, which as you can see from the front side of the mask, is for glowing skin! 🙂  Unless my skin is in need of something specific in a sheet mask, I usually go for brightening sheet masks in the morning and hydrating or moisturizing ones in the evening. I had not heard about this brand until I saw several of their masks in CVS, but I have since seen them, here on other's posts or in stores like World Market, Anthropologie, and Walgreens. I've used a few of their products and they've been hit or miss. This one is a hit. 🙂

It's a cotton sheet mask that adheres well onto my skin. It's a little wide and long for my face shape but that is typical. I surprisingly did not need to make any adjustments to the eye or mouth areas. Instructions suggest that the mask be kept on for 10-20 minutes; I went with 20; the mask wears comfortable and I was able to carry on with my morning activities while wearing it. After removing it, there was some essence on my skin but it didn't feel wet; a few pats here and there and the remaining essence was absorbed into my skin. My complexion looked brighter - it had a nice, soft fresh glow to it. 🙂  This one is going on my list of masks to restock.

My masking choices last nights are ones I use frequently enough that they could be considered some of the staples of my collection. I kept both of these products on overnight.  I used the GlamGlow ThirstyMud as a moisturizer and sleeping mask - it smells amazing and gives me soft, hydrated and happy skin in the morning.  The Caudalie Instant Detox Mask was used as an overnight spot treatment on a couple of blemishes - they looked smaller in size this morning - yes! I would definitely repeat this combo - it's easy and effective! 🙂

@itsfi    Sounds like very successful masking!! I'm always hesitant to buy the ohK! sheet masks, because like you said, they can be very hit or miss! Glad to know this was a good one! 🤗

I’m glad that both AM and PM masking sessions were great! The OhK mask sounds great ! I’ll have to do some investigation about this brand since we don’t have CVS or Walgreens up here!

Both AM and PM masking sounds great!! I'll have to look to see if my CVS or Walmart has the sheet mask. I noticed on a quick trip to Walmart that they had set up a complete display of sheet masks! Didn't have time to see what all they had.

Thank you @yankeefaithful!! 😊 I think only select CVS stores carry a broad selection of Kbeauty sheet masks. I didn’t see any Kbeauty masks when I was in Walgreens, but I know you can order online from the Walgreens site and have it delivered to a Walgreens store for pickup.

That Oh K mask sounds so good, @itsfi,especially with the soft glow it gave you! And as as AM mask, it's nice that the fit was good, perfect for when you need to be somewhere. I will try this one out 🙂

JOSIE MARAN Whipped Mud Mask

This is a creamy beige-colored mask that is unscented. I had this on for about 15 minutes, 5 minutes longer than the directions state. Unlike other mud masks I've used, this one did not dry down hard and stiff – it was soft to the touch. my face felt a tiny bit tight toward the end, but nothing too serious. I removed the mask with a wet washcloth and it came up easy – just splashing water on your face would not get this up very well or very fast. When I removed the mask I could tell right away that my face was brighter and my complexion was clearer! My skin felt very refreshed and sooo soft and smooth! It did dry me out just a little bit, but not bad at all compared to most of the other mud masks I've tried! 

 MISSHA Honey Pure Source Pocket Pack

This is a creamy clear gel mask that has a very light scent of honey. The consistency of this mask actually reminds me a lot of the ultrasound lubricant they used on my belly when I was pregnant, haha! 😉🤰

I slathered on the entire packet and let it sit for about 20 minutes. The mask was easy to rinse off and after my face dried it felt so soft and smooth and refreshed! It didn't hydrate as well as I'd hoped – my face felt pretty comfortable but just not as hydrated as I'd prefer. I would say this mask was just ok. I have found other honey masks that have given better results, so I probably wouldn't purchase this one again.

The Josie Maran mask looks great. Sorry the Missha looked like ultrasound gel!! But at least it was refreshing!! Hopefully you enjoyed most of your masking session!!😊

@Shosh85 Sorry that the Missha Honey mask was a so-so for you! At least you had the Josie Maran to make up for it ! What is the Vanilla Apricot thing that comes with the Whipped Mud mask? Is it a moisturizer?

Thank you, @keana1!! The other pod was the Vanilla Apricot Mud mask! I did a review on this one a while back – it made me look like an Oompa Loompa, haha! There are a few different scents and colors this mask comes in😉🙌

Sorry about the Missha mask. I don't think I have tried anything yet from the brand. Hopefully you had a good moisturizer on hand to pick up where it let off, lol.

That's too bad about the Missha honey mask @Shosh85 it looked like it might be a good one.  Is there enough product for more than one use, or is it just a single use packet?
