Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.
Masking Spreadsheet Info
Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).
Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.
Additional Info:
Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!
Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-
Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word
Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
There are 2 ways to edit a response:
1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:
2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet
Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!
Rules
Each week there will be a new Masking Challenge posted. It will range from type of mask, brand specific week or fun challenges along the way.
Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.
Have Fun!!
P.S. If you have any suggestions or challenge recommendations feel free to message me and I'll add them to the list.

Merry Masking!
You are the cutest human being! There, I said it!! 😃
Well, aren't you just the sweetest!😘 Thank you so much, @GG84!! ..... but I do owe a lot of that to the mask on my face, haha! 😂
Love your masking notes - so many great masks there @SAlyFitz! Did you have a favorite or favorite combination of masks?
Oh wow you did some great masking @SAlyFitz!!
What do you think of the Clarins mask, @SAlyFitz?
Wow, it's great that you have been masking so much even if you haven't been able to post!
Monday's masking - free is cheap, right? I am not sure how much this mask retails for but it came as a freebie from a Beauties order I placed earlier in the year.
I used this mask this past Monday but haven't had much of a chance to get online this week. The experience turned into something of a saga anyway. Most of the masks that I have tend to be targeted for dry or mature skin but the air down here had been so saturated with moisture that those sorts of products have been feeling very heavy. I didn't pick this mask because of the weekly theme although it sort of fits - I chose it because my skin has been very tired and stressed lately so this mask sounded like it was what I needed and I decided to give it a try in the morning to help perk me up. I am usually wary of applying lemon juice or oil to my face but it was very far down on the ingredient list and the mask promised "not only cleaning and astringent effects but also soothes tired looking skin."
The mask had a light fresh lemon scent and was a fairly thick cotton with eye flaps that I didn't use. It was too big overall but most masks are because I have a small head. However, the eye, nose, and mouth cutouts were all spot on which was a pleasant surprise. The instructions said to leave it on for 20-30 minutes but because I was nervous about the mask type I left it on only for about 8. My skin actually did look more awake and energized after the mask but felt a little sticky which is a common complaint I tend to have with sheet masks. So far so good, right?
The day after I used the mask I noticed that the skin on my decolletage was oddly irritated and rough - almost leathery. I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on with it. Except for the mask I had not used anything new in my routine but I had only smoothed the serum from the mask onto my neck and chest whereas my face was exposed to the wet mask for the whole time yet my face and neck were perfectly fine. I used all my most emollient balms and ointments to try to calm the irritated skin and it has slowly been recovering although it still is somewhat rough. I finally figured out what most likely happened though: I use sunscreen everyday because I am fair and don't want any more skin damage than I already have (I actually have been obsessive about sun safety for decades but had a number of severe burns when I was a kid). We had a mishap in our yard that required my spending about 45 minutes outside repairing the landscaping. The lemon extract from the mask made my skin photosensitive. I was wearing a hat, but it most likely didn't cover my chest, only my face and neck, and the sun down here is more intense than I am used to anyway. Also, I was sweating profusely, and may have lost some of the sunscreen protection that way. So no more lemon masks for me.
On the bright side, my Wish Formula bat eye masks arrived and they look to be the perfect size and shape to cover the affected area!
And on the other end of the spectrum, I splurged on a luxe DS to try out.
Also keeping with the week's theme, I used my Sisley Express Flower Gel hydrating and toning mask on my face while I treated my chest with heavy duty balms. This mask is pleasant but not magical and I wouldn't spend $140 on it. I do love the scent though, and it is nice to have a 3 minute mask option for quick pick me ups.
oh no @Alphaboo! I’m so sorry about the masking saga; hope the healing process speeds up! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the bat mask!
Oh @Alphaboo, I am so sorry. Excellent sleuthing on your part, though. Thank you for sharing as it’s something I didn’t know until a year or so ago re: photosensitivity. I hope your skin recovers fully and quickly😊
@Alphaboo I'm glad you figured out what was causing your skin irritation! Sounds like this mask may be ok for some, just not everyone! 🍋
I'm happy to hear you ordered some Bat Masks!! That was one of my most favorites! It has good results (for me anyway😉) and is so fun – perfect for this time of year!! I'll be interested to hear what you think of it!! 🦇
I think the mask itself is fine as long as you have UV protection. Or I could be completely off base about what caused the irritation and it wasn’t the mask at all but I do know lemon is associated with photosensitivity so it is the most likely thing to me.
And yes, I am really excited to try the bat masks!
I’m sorry 😐 all of you beautiful people, I haven’t been posting anything much for about a week. I haven’t been feeling well and I also had iPad and router problems! I hope to be posting regularly soon! I miss you guys 🤗 ! Love, keana1.
