Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

DIY masking

I mentioned the not-so-great ingredients in the inexpensive masks I purchased for the weekly challenge. No problem says my daughter! Cleansing wipe+serum+moisturizer+scissors=anyone can look good😉💖

She will be a masking pro by 10, @itsfi😄 I was putting off ordering those DIY masks until this. Ordering some tonight, going to try to find some recipes. Also going to use my Lancôme serum sample for a mask. They will definitely be put to good use;)

OMG this looks so fun! I love it @eshoe! I see quite a few Pacifica products. Any favorites? I only tried a few of their skincare products.

We have tried quite a few of the Pacifica line, @Lazybeautybeast. I bought the serum for me but gave it to her as the consistency is too jelly-like for me and it has a strong melon scent. It’s a little sparkly, too! She likes the cocoa rush mask a lot. The crystal gem body lotion with coconut irritates her skin, though other coconut products from other brands haven’t so far. We both like the Rose facial wipes. What else...the face lotion she likes as well. They have really expanded their line-oh the lip balm, there is a watermelon one-she loves that, too😊

Good to know! Thanks @eshoe! I love some of the wipes, sheet masks, and I've had pretty good luck with their hair products. I love the Chai Lip balm. I bought couple masks but the texture was weird so I've been nervous to try any other skincare...that and I have so much already.

Yeah I don’t care for the texture or scent of the Cocoa Rush, @Lazybeautybeast. At ALL😆. I can’t remember if I have tried any of the sheet masks. I used to use the Sea cleansing gel but it’s too drying now for my skin. I use the Kale and Berry conditioners on her hair. I use them once in awhile, too!

I love this @eshoe!! I do this too and you get compressed sheet masks that you can pop into serum/toner/essence/oil which absorb the liquid and you use as a traditional face mask then. I think Amazon sell them.

@itsfi mentioned that too, @Aaliaa! I was thinking about it during DIY week but they were in packs of 100 and I didn’t think I would use that many. But I am definitely going to buy some now! With all the Lapcos I bought, and the extra serum in each package, I can mix and match and maybe get a couple uses out of each😉

I was just reviewing the schedule tonight and discovered something about this week’s challenge. Most of the masks I love fit on the the bell curve. 

Tonight’s masking:Shiseido, Omorovicza, Tatcha, DE, Herbivore, and Jurlique

The most (and least) expensive mask challenge has been another spreadsheet in the making in my mind. I used to make spreadsheets of my lip products to track cost/ounce, and I want to create one for the traditional masks to determine cost/use. Because I think there are a number of really good products that are dismissed due to price, when if you look at the amount you get/amount paid, most people would be surprised. 

I planned to use the Shiseido mask set as my most expensive mask, although I didn’t pay full price. Actual cost = it fits within my usual nightly masking routine.

The Omorovicza was a free GWP. It’s not even a mask, it’s a thermal cleansing balm. But after testing it out, I discovered it makes the most incredible hydrating mask. I pinpointed the scent, @itsfi and it’s coffee beans. I left it on for a good 20 minutes, then removed with a quick rinse of water. My skin was so, so soft. I could have left it alone but was looking forward to the Shiseido.

I wish I would have picked up a few more of these. The fit of the bottom part of the mask was near perfect, save for the extra 1/2” that extended onto my ears😆. The top was a good fit as well, with the scent I remember from using their skincare line years ago. It’s nice to know some things never change! 

When I removed the mask after a good 40 minutes (it could have been closer to 45), my forehead was free of lines. I immediately wished I had stocked up. Excited to use the other masks in this package as well.

I am determined to finish that little Herbivore by 10/10! Almost there. The Tatcha is a lot of 💗 and the DE/Jurlique blend is my nighttime sleeping mask😴

I thought I saw one at TJ Maxx a couple of months ago, @lmaster. The selection has been dwindling for awhile now it’s down to two products. Hopefully enough people buy the mist to keep it on board!
