Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.
Masking Spreadsheet Info
Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).
Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.
Additional Info:
Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!
Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-
Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word
Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
There are 2 ways to edit a response:
1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:
2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet
Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!
Rules
Each week there will be a new Masking Challenge posted. It will range from type of mask, brand specific week or fun challenges along the way.
Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.
Have Fun!!
P.S. If you have any suggestions or challenge recommendations feel free to message me and I'll add them to the list.

Merry Masking!
I have a bit of a backlog of Factory masks because I keep buying ones I hear about here, @lmaster!
@eshoe sorry to hear the snail one didn’t work for you! “Escargot and caviar” sounds like it should be luxurious 😂 what do you not like about the Farmacy cleansing oil? I’ve yet to really get into the line but have heard such great things about almost the entire product line!
Yeah it sounds and looks fancy @cianni, too bad it didn't perform like that 😄
I don't think they carry the oil I bought anymore, they came out with a new one. Mine is the Clear Bloom and it has a vegetable oil scent and leaves a film on my face. That and the serum do nothing for me, but everything else I've tried of theirs I love!
@eshoe I've never really tried snipping a mask to fit me better. Maybe I should try that. I've seen snail masks and may even have one from a sub and am quite hesitant to try. At least you got through yours 🙂
I am most definitely NOT a fan of snail masks @GalPalVal17 I just wanted this one out of my stash 😆 @itsfi shared her tip of keeping a little scissors nearby and it has really helped make some masks more tolerable. If the eyes are too small i just cut a slit going down in the inner corner and fold the flats downward. It’s very helpful!
Yay @eshoe, great to hear the FAB Radiance Pad was gentle on your skin. 😃 It sounds like the kale and beet Sweet Chef masks were just okay for you; the ginger mask is the one that most appealed to me so I’ll be interested for your thoughts on it. I tried that Elensia sheet mask last year and thought it was fine for hydration; I did not repurchase that “flavor” but I picked up the honey propolis one from the same line as that seemed like a better fit for my skin and may pull it out later in the year.
I'm so happy to have finally opened the FAB, @itsfi! I've taken it out of my sample stash and put it back in a number of times. I will take it easy on them still, maybe once a week or so, maybe interchanging with the Neogen pads.
I will be looking out for the Propolis mask, to hear your thoughts on it. I had originally planned on the ginger mask for this morning but didn't get to it, hoping this weekend. I have too many masks I want to use before the week is over and like you've said, only one face 😄
@eshoe, the FAB pads are so gentle but effective; you’ll see results with continued use. The regular size is huge - 60 pads - and can be a bit much if you rotate chemical peel pads. Ulta carries a travel size of these pads which may be better for your needs - it’s 28 pads for $16. Sephora carries the travel size in sets from time to time but you can buy it separately through Ulta and FAB direct.
Thank you @itsfi ! Between these and the Neogen, which I am still working on and maybe only 1/2 way through my jar, I should be set for a few months. Happy to have found something so gentle, thanks for the nudge;)
@eshoe is it weird that I was expecting the Sweet Chef mask to have a pink colour to it? So disappointing about their odd fit. Sounds like these guys might just be an ok mask if you happen to have them. If I end up at a target sometime maybe I'll give them a go, but I'm probably not going to go out of my way to find them kind of thing.
The farmacy mask is at the top of my to purchase list when we get the first Sephora sale.
I kinda was too, @missjeanie! I was really surprised by the scent. It was odd. Nothing berry or sweet, nothing herbal or sheet-masky...just, different. I've had the Farmacy since March and I'm barely 1/2 way through it. Love the little magnetic metal spatula, too:)
@eshoe that is very disappointing about the masks - i never have the patience for trimming them
I've been on a roll with poorly-fitted face masks, @Kim888! I'm kinda looking forward to my Sephora rubberizing mask at this point 😄
Thanks for your thoughts on the Sweet Chef mask! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the last one. @eshoe
I planned on it this AM but will likely get to it this weekend @veronika23; I just wasn't up for another poor fit 😉 Hoping it's the star of the show!
I totally understand that @eshoe ! Cross fingers it's the best one! 🙂
E is for Esfolio Egg Essence!
I have a ton of Esfolio lying around because I picked up 4 packs of 10 a while ago at Winners ($7.99 for 10 sheet masks!!), and have tried to keep them in the rotation to help me work through them. This one features egg yolk extract, quince and green purslane. A little research revealed that green purslane is a superfood, rich in omega-3s, vitamin E and C, and is used for both anti-aging, as well as irritation and inflammation (traditional Chinese medicine uses include testing insect bites and the associated redness and itchiness)
Thoughts - the sheet is pretty lightweight but as I find with most Esfolio, there is a TON of serum. Not necessarily in the packet itself, but the sheet somehow absorbs a lot of product. It had a very light clean scent. Didn’t bother me too much. The recommended time is 15-20 mins, but I leave it on for almost 40-45 because there’s so much serum. The fit was just ok. The eye holes were too high up and I did have some issues with the jaw/chin being too long, but that’s not atypical for me. After removal, my face was incredibly tacky, but felt very hydrated, which was what I was looking for because this weather has been awful!! All you fellow polar vortex sufferers understand 😂😂.
Admittedly I do prefer the pig collagen over the egg essence, but this one is still good. My skin was hydrated, and I have been staving off the extreme dryness in this cold, so I’m going to credit masking for that! That being said - when I bought these initially, it was before I had really looked into ingredients and I’ve since noticed that there is alcohol in this one, so even though I enjoy it fine enough, I wouldn’t repurchase it. I’ll give it a C+ because it’s hydrating but tacky and contains alcohol.
Alcohol ruins the day, again! @cianni ! Sorry about the fit ! Maybe you should use a moisturizer after masking, I find that this reduces the tackyness that some masks leave behind.
That little egg @cianni 🤗 I love it! Too bad the mask was so tacky, I cannot stand that🤨
