Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
 

There are 2 ways to edit a response: 

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

Mixture of this week’s challenge and next week 🙃

Started my masking marathon with Exfolikate. Really like this treatment / exfoliant. I’ve almost used it up and I probably won’t repurchase because it’s pretty expensive. But, if there’s a crazy good deal at the Anniversary sale I might... 😉 After sloshing away dead skin I masked my nose, cheeks, chin, and jaw with Glamglow Supermud. I’ve had this for about 10 months and I’m really surprised it hasn’t dried up yet. The squeeze tube does a good job at keeping the product fresh! I think the drying process of showing where your pores are clogged is a little gimmicky but I like the deep clean results after using. Then, lastly (for now at least!) I used the Lab tube of Origins Dragon Fruit all over. It’s such a smoothing and cooling mask that offers a lot of moisture. I left it on for probably an hour then washed it off to bright and clean skin 🤗

@scott1201, thanks for the post! I don't have the dragon fruit, but I have the other two. I've only used the exfoliatekate once, but liked it. I've had my supermud glamglow in the drawer too for several months, so I need to use it up 😊

@scott1201 This sounds like the perfect trio! I haven’t tried the ExfoliKate but I have tried the other two and really enjoyed them! Happy to hear like them all! That Dragon Fruit mask is pretty great for soothing and hydrating! -plus the smell is pretty nice too! 👌

Okay, fingers crossed I can complete the challenge this time around, especially with a cross country move looming. I’ll be numbering the weeks based on the half year, not the full year like Aaliaa has them in the Schedule, so this will be Week 1 for me. I recently picked up Dr. Roebuck’s Icebergs Hydrating mask on a whim when I wanted to make a quick purchase to use a promo code. It seems to be a new brand for Sephora and their products have the Clean seal. It features aloe vera, red algae, hyaluronic acid, cucumber, and chamomile - promising ingredients for soothing and hydration. Sadly, it didn’t live up to my hopes. It has a thick jelly-like consistency which feels nice while it is on, but it left my skin feeling rather dry and tight once I rinsed it off. Also, it has an unpleasant almost plasticky scent. There are many much nicer options in the jelly textured hydrating mask category: Fresh Rose mask, PTR cucumber, and Sephora Collection jelly mask have all worked great for me. I am probably going to return this one if I haven’t tossed the order summary in the packing chaos.

@Alphaboo The DrRoebuck mask sounded really good considering the ingredients listed! It’s too bad that it didn’t live up to your expectations and made your skin feel tight and dry afterwards! You should definitely return this one and like the other BIC members said if you can’t find your packing slip you shouldn’t have any problems with the return process since Sephora can access your account by using your card’s magnetic strip !

@Alphaboo So sorry to hear this was a flop! It sure sounds like it has some good ingredients in it! -but I wouldn’t want it either if had a plasticky smell! 😬

I had a bad reaction to a mask I ordered from Sephora and I didn’t have the receipt OR the packaging and they let me have store credit for it. 👍

@Alphaboo, sorry to hear that the mask didn't work out for you, especially with that great list of ingredients!  😞 

I think you can return the product without your order summary.  You may not be able to have the amount you paid credited to your credit card without the order summary, but Sephora should have a history of your purchases and be able to pull up a record of this for you in the store to process an exchange or store credit, if they can't do a refund. 

Hope prepping for the move has been going well.  How are you feeling about the move?

Thanks! I’m nervous about moving someplace new and sad to be leaving all my friends and family behind but also kind of excited to be close (ish) to the ocean again (we’ll be about an hour and a half away from the Gulf). I grew up near the water and miss it!
