Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options

This masking combo doesn’t fit neatly into this week’s hydration theme, but I thought the Skinfood Strawberry Black Sugar Wash-Off Face Mask and Gudetama Narikiri Face Pack: Pancakes combination made a fitting duo before heading off to breakfast. 😉

The Skinfood mask is a great exfoliating mask, leaves my complexion looking clear and refreshed and my skin feeling soft, and it smells delightfully like strawberry jam when first applied to your face. The scent disappears so you don’t smell like a fruit preserve throughout the day.

The sheet mask collab between Narikiri and Sanrio’s Gudetama smells very lightly of dry pancake mix. The mask has flaps for the eyes and lip, and the fit of the mask is okay – it was a little wide on the sides. I put the eye flaps and lip flap on for purposes of the photo but did not keep them on for the rest of my masking time. I’m pretty sure the mask is supposed to look like a stack of pancakes with an egg (Gudetama) on top, but I think that the mask looks like a sad teddy bear face on me.

As for how the mask performs, it’s not bad at all. I left the mask on for 20 minutes and found that the essence had absorbed nicely into my skin. My skin looked smooth and felt soft after use. It preps my skin nicely before my last few skincare items and makeup, and there’s a small amount of essence left in the packet that can be used on the neck, arms, etc.

These are so much fun @itsfi! 😍 I’m glad they worked out too! I couldn’t resist a mask that smells of strawberry jam, especially since I haven’t been able to get the Multiberry mask from Laneige anymore (can anyone tell me what happened to that mask?!) 🍓

It is pretty fun! 🙂 Nariki and Gudetama also made a sheet mask that looks like an over-easy egg; wondering if I should try that one out at some point @Aaliaa. 😉

The Skinfood mask looks/sounds especially delicious– I don’t think I’d mind too much smelling like strawberry fruit spread all day, haha! 😂

Josie Maran Vanilla Apricot Whipped Mud Mask

This mask has a creamy consistency and is a fun orange color. It has a clay smell with just a light citrusy scent.

You’re supposed to lightly massage this into the skin and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. After about 10 minutes it was already dry, and it wasn’t an uncomfortably tight-can’t move my face-kinda dry either! I could move my face around freely without anything flaking off. It washed off easy and I was left with smooth, soft, firm and refreshed skin. This is also one of the very few clay masks I’ve used that didn’t extremely dry me out. I didn’t feel the need to immediately moisturize like I would usually do. This is one I’ll be buying full size of soon! 🙌

For just an added boost of hydration I decided to try out my very first Leaders mask. Leaders Labotica Bamboo Skin Soft Mask. The package states it’s a “skin soft mask with Bamboo Leaf Stem Ferment Extract for deep moisturizing.” This mask didn’t have a specific scent just sort of a clean fresh smell and had a good amount of serum. The material of the mask was lightweight, thin, fit really good and was super comfortable to wear. It felt cool and soothing. I left it on for about 30 minutes and was left with soft, smooth, refreshed and hydrated skin. I woke up in the morning and didn’t feel the need to moisturize right away like usual. 👍

I was actually super surprised at how much I liked this one- I wasn’t really expecting much! I’ll have to explore more Leader brand masks
