Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masksπ
@Cissy63, it was different than what Iβm used to, which was fun. Itβs fairly simple but I still watched the YT video a bunch of times before actually trying it out. π
I remember my mom and gran making their own rice water face and hair rinses. I should try doing it myself.
@nuinui933, I love that. Did you do rice hair rinses along with your mom and grandma? My hair was soft and shiny. ππΌ If you end up doing a rinse yourself, Iβd love know how it goes.
I did them sometimes. I was a tomboy growing up and not at all into things like that but my gran and mom would also include me and I'd do it because I had to. That stuff was all lost on me but I want to give it a try now. I will let you know for sure.
@itsfi - interesting! I never really think of rice as a skin care ingredient but I do love oatmeal as an ingredient so I guess itβs not that far off! Glad you found the mask hydrating and plumping !
@Kim888, I had heard about rice as skincare and had tried a couple of rice sheet masks but I didnβt start to really give it more attention until I went through a bottle of the Iβm From Rice Toner. Itβs now one of the skincare ingredients that will catch my eye if I see a rice-based skincare product. Great, one more thing to be distracted by. π
@itsfi This daily mask sounds like an impressive filler. Iβm not surprised to hear why you keep it around!!! I am more intrigued by this DIY hair mask. Most DIY ones are usually mayonnaise which I like as a condiment but maybe not in my hair. I am definitely going to search out a recipe for this. It sounds like itβs really working for you! And you canβt go wrong with shinny less oily hair!!
@ather, I've heard about the benefits of rice water / rice milk for face and hair and I really liked this I'm From Rice toner I used last year so I thought I'd try my had at some DIY. The YT video I used as a reference point for the recipe was by beautyklove and the title was "How To Make Rice Milk For Damaged Hair & Hair Growth & For Softer Skin". She mentions a couple different ways for making rice milk / rice water.
I've been looking into rice water hair care!! @itsfi thank you for sharing
@lmaster, have you seen / tried Viori? I picked up a set through their direct site before Sephora started carrying the brand.
https://www.sephora.com/search?keyword=Viori
I posted pics of the products on the hauls thread - the presentation is exquisite. π
@itsfi I actually just saw a video on the brand Viori. I also have been looking at the Kitsch rice shampoo bars. Since I am trying to lessen my carbon footprint more.
Oh, now that you mention it @ather, I *think* I have a sampler set of the Kitsch shampoo bars. Hmmm... π€ I'll check and if I do, will try to see how these two brands compare.
That's great, ather and impressive! I definitely need to do more to try to lessen mine.
@itsfi Oooo yes I canβt wait for the shampoo bar showdown!!
I think itβs so hard to lessen our footprint but itβs always worth a try I think. Iβve been recycling all my bottles and anything I can!
@ather, every little bit helps, and I think as we keep trying, over time it becomes easier.
@itsfi I agree. I was talking to a friend here and she doesnβt recycle anything because the town we are in doesnβt really have a good recycling program. I donβt think it takes a ton of work to sort. I just keep bins so I can just toss things out. I wanted to start to compost again but itβs definitely hard living in the city. You donβt really want it close to the house. It starts to smell lol π
I actually did see that same shampoo bar!! @itsfi I'll be waiting to see how you like it!!
@lmaster, I'll keep you posted.
Rainbow Mask. I found this from The Crème Shop
It had a really attractive mask with heartβs and other designβs on the sheet. The sheet was drenched in essence. Plus it smells like Papaya!!
The mask was still wet after removing it. I patted the remaining essence into my skin.
My skin was soft, very hydrated and it felt so cool and refreshed. There were no issues of irritation even with all of the fruit essence.

This one has had quite a few raves here, @Cissy63 - happy to hear it worked for you as well!
This has a cute print to it. One of my fave TCS masks.
