Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masksπ
@lmaster, I was so intrigued by the material; really wanted it to work. π There are a couple of other βflavorsβ in that line. I may give another version a try to see if I may have just gotten a bad mask.
@itsfi I just bought my first multipack like that, and was amused at the number of masks, too. Itβs even more interesting to see this is not brand specific. Do you have a favorite bulk mask pack?
@eshoe, oooh. Your first mask pack! Which one did you pick up? How are you liking them? Are you using them daily? Itβs even more amusing that this brandβs morning mask packs include 28 sheets - theyβll work fabulously for all non-leap year February months. π
Iβve liked mask packs from VT, AβPieu, and Bizoo Oohhaa. The last one I received as a gift but itβs not longer available. VT only makes one mask pack as far as I know, itβs centered on Cica. AβPieu has at least 3 varieties of mask pack - I posted about it here a few years back, 2018, maybe 2019 thereabouts. That was a great one. Funny enough, I just posted about the green tea version from the same brand. β¬οΈ Thereβs also a black tea version.
@itsfi I will have to remember the 28-pack come February π
I am using the AβPieu Green Tea one. I opted for that rather than the Hyaluronic option as most evenings I just want a soothing mask that fits well. If it offers a pleasant scent, bonus!
I have been using it about every other night, sometimes twice in a row. Itβs nice sometimes to just mask and not be thinking about every aspect of it. After the first night, and a mask that dried way too quickly, I flipped the box upside down. That helped disperse the serum to the top mask much better! The scent surprised me; it seems more floral than green tea, but it fades quickly. I find the fit to be better than average, but the wear time shorter (15-20 minutes). I suppose that is a pretty standard duration, my personal preference is usually a longer wear. That being saidβ¦I am loving it for plenty of reasons! Mostly that there is less waste, no surprises, and convenient packaging. I don't feel a strong need to try new masks every night, and this fills the gap so that my skin still gets some love and attention no matter my mood.
I imagine it will take me two-three months to work through a box of 33 at this pace. I think I will try the VT Cica next. I donβt think one could go wrong with a multipack of soothing-type masks on hand:)
Ack @Samtian! I meant methanol, not ethanol. π¬ Still not great but not as bad. Oops.
@itsfi haha! Methanol is no good to me either.
100% on board with you @Samtian! I read your post and thought βoh my goodness thereβs ethanol in there too!β Then I thought βwait, did you mess it up, Fi?!!β And sure enough, I did! π€ͺπ
Recent masking from βQβ week, a little Quret comparison:
β
@eshoe - the egg is adorable.
It is cute, @eshores. I have a weakness for those adorable smilesβΊοΈ
@eshoe Sounds like a great masking sesh!
No hiccups = always a decent masking , @ather βΊοΈ
@eshoe the eggy packaging though!! I would probably buy it if I seen it out somewhere!
Yes, @lmaster, itβs hard to pass up an eggy mask!
@eshoe, oh, Quret came out with a new line of masks? The packaging is cute, but it sounds that the results are similar to the results from their other line of masks. Glad it hydrated your skin! π¦
Sigh, yes, @itsfi. They do perform about the same as the veggie ones. I do like that they are virtually scentless, though. I just βfeelβ enough of a difference between masks to say one is far superior than another. They are all *fine* π
A late entry for Q week--
The Apieu Quinoa Skin Fit mask
Thank you to whomever put this one into the MoTM box. I pulled this one out since I've loved Apieu masks in the past, but hadn't tried this particular line (at least not that I remember) and haven't used too many quinoa-specific products either. The mask itself was a nice thin lyocell material which fit nicely and clung to my skin well overall (although there was a little bit of flappiness on the chin a couple of times). The scent was a mix of grassy and grain. It had an outdoor freshness about it that I didn't mind at all. After removal, there was some very slight tack, but my skin felt very smooth to the touch. I was left with my skin looking quite even and feeling nicely hydrated. It's a shame the line seems to be discontinued/sold out because I would certainly use it again.
And just to tack on even though it's not quite a challenge mask, the Goodal Mugwort Mild Sheet Mask:
This was a decent, just not super special mask. The thin cotton gave me a mostly decent fit. It was another with a "green" scent that reminded me of plants, but it was very slight overall. The serum was more gel like than I was expecting for a mask that says it's mugwort infused water. Overall, the results were fine. It was nicely hydrating and my skin was perhaps a little brighter. It would be a good filler mask, but didn't give me the results that I've gotten from other mugwort masks like the Etude House Artemisia Airy Fit mask.
@quspork that's a bummer they seem to be discontinued!!
It's always a shame to find a nice one and then bam- no longer available, @lmaster.
