Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐Ÿ’—

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@lmaster That sounds nice!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Yes it was a pleasant mask!! @Samtian

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

My first N mask for the week came unexpectedly, courtesy of Monday night's masking.

N = No, Nah, Nope, Nein, Nyet, Non

N - no, non, nien, nyet.jpg

Spoiler
This will probably be my shortest mask post ever. ๐Ÿ˜†

This one stung on initial application. All over my face. Even my forehead which can withstand a lot. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

The stinging persisted for an hour and a half after I removed the mask. Even after the active stinging was thankfully no more, the high points of my cheeks still felt very tender.

Repurchase?: Ummm..... no, nah, nope, nein, nyet, non
And for some more N's, no way, not a chance, never again

P.S. I'm typically of the opinion that there's a mask out there for every face. This SEPHORA COLLECTION Vitamin Mask Matcha + Vitamin H will work for someone. I'm just not that someone.

P.P.S. SEPHORA COLLECTION Clean Watermelon After Sun Mask 1 Mask helped a little. I'll be babying my face for the next few days.

ETA 9.30.2021: No skin irritation, which is a plus, as is my skin feeling much less raw and on the mend. ๐Ÿ‘ My face still feels noticeably dry all over and I'm beginning to see some peeling/dry patches on my cheeks. Not great, but I know how to deal with it. Skincare routine has been super simple both AM and PM, involving reapplication of a face oil throughout the day. Depending on how my skin feels throughout the day, I may try a nourishing sheet mask tonight.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi

Ouch! HOpe your skin is better.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@elleb810, thank you! My skin has been on the mend. I was working on addressing some areas of dryness but today, I noticed no noticeable surface dryness. Yay! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Oh gosh, @itsfi, I'm so sorry this didn't work for you!! That reaction sounds terrible!! I hope your skin is doing better!!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Thank you @haleyvvvv; my skin is doing better. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ I was most happy when the tenderness and rawness went away. Dryness I can deal with and address. The other stuff was more challenging to deal with, but fortunately, thatโ€™s behind us now.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi  oh no. Now I know how you irritated your skin barrier. Ouch. So sorry this one didnโ€™t work out for you. I wonder which ingredient/ingredients did this to you. I need to do some more research on vitamin h. In all my years Iโ€™ve never come across it. Unless itโ€™s going by the ingredient name. Side note I love how you reapply oil throughout the day. I was watching someone online and they complained about a brand coming out with a face oil and how thatโ€™s only geared towards 20 somethings. I was jaw on the ground upset. Iโ€™m close to 40 and still like looking like a glazed donut before bed. I felt personally attacked ๐Ÿคช

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@ather, woah! WHAT???!!! Ummmm, I am pretty sure I did not even know about face oils, let alone their benefits, until I was past my 20s. There's so much more info out there about skincare and as a result, more people start looking after their skin at an early age, so I think it's fabulous that folks in their teens and 20s are more aware of what they use. I wish I paid more attention and was more diligent when I was that age. I'm all for the glazed-donut look before bed for people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and so on, if that's what works for their skin.

In solidarity with you, ather, I'm getting my donut PJs out and I'm gonna make my face look extra glazy tonight with my face oils! Oh yes I will! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi  Yes!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for your support!! I know if anyone one would be outraged by that comment it would be you. I literally couldnโ€™t believe it was said.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@ather, I hadn't heard of it either before this mask. It's another term for biotin, which is one of the ingredients I think my skin did not get on with very well. I'm sure biotin is included in some supplements I take but this may be the first I've seen it in something you're supposed to put on your face. In any event, the lesson learned from this masking fiasco is hard "no" to biotin and this mask and a huge "yes" to face oils and also snail mucin products. Go gastropods! ๐ŸŒ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi  Oh no, all those negative N's! So sorry this caused irritation- stinging is never a fun feeling! Glad to hear your face is doing better! I definitely will not be picking this one up! ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Shosh85, I was bummed I had to be negative about it but my face really did not like this mask. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ It took me by surprise how long it kept stinging after I wash off the product - prior to this one, that never happened to me, even with some parts of my face being very sensitive. Snails to the rescue though! ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Oh gosh! Sorry to hear this one didn't work out for you, @itsfi!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Thanks @quspork! This one took me by surprise! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi Ooh no good! I hope your skin calms down soon!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Samtian, I kept wondering when the stinging / prickly feeling would end. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ But it did and I was so happy when it did.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi Any idea what ingredient/s caused it? I will definitely stay away from that one.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

That's a great question @Samtian. At an initial glance, I would guess it might be the biotin or added fragrance in the product, or a combination of both. I've taken biotin before, orally, but not topically, at least not that I can recall. I also don't recall seeing it as an ingredient in masks or skincare products I've used in recent years, though I can't be absolutely sure of that.

I've spent the last couple of nights looking up a few ingredients on the INCI list that I'm not familiar with. Most of them seem to be emulsifiers and that could also be a cause of the stinging, whether on its own or in any number of combination with the other ingredients. I'd have to find a way to isolate any of these suspects in order to be certain or narrow down the list of likely suspects, but I'm not sure how (or if I want) to go about doing that with all the ones in this mask that might have triggered that reaction. So for now, I'll rehome this mask and steer clear of it.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi sounds like a better plan!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Samtian, my face 100% agrees. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘Š
