Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Thank you @Sunnysmom! ๐ Basic masks can be some of the best ones - no muss, no fuss masks that get the job done! ๐๐ผ Yay for starting out on masking! โฅ๏ธ The learning curve can be fun and thereโs such a great resource here on BIC.
โNo mussin no fussin โ just like the funny commercial @itsfi ! ๐ Yup and you guys all have great recommendations and advice, thanks for all of it! ๐ค๐
These types of masks intrigue me, @itsfi. Accupressure is stressful for me but something like this on a smaller and controllable scale is much more attractive. A definite need-to-try this year!
@eshoe, you should give these a try, this one and the maybe another from the line, with different balls to press. The other masks from this line have raised โbuttonsโ for lack of a better word, but they look flat, or flatter, compared to the acupoints here.
Just started a new cart and added it, @itsfi. I will also have a look around for any of the others that might be in the similar camp. Time to get out and explore!
Wow @itsfi this mask really intrigues me. I love acupressure (and acupuncture) info and having it implemented into a mask sounds so interesting! Good to hear your thoughts on it and that you probably wouldnโt rebuy though. Boo.
@Sunnysmom, I think the concept of acupressure massage is interesting ๐; I'm just not sure that the ball where the acupoints are supposed to be, on this mask are necessary. I wonder if I could go through the steps of pressing each acupoint 3 times right after applying the mask and right before removing, but with a different sheet mask. Maybe something I'll try with another mask, if I remember. ๐
Yes me too @itsfi . Keep us posted please as you experiment! ๐
@itsfi wow!!! This one sure does look interesting!!
@lmaster, I'm not sure about the actual acupoints on this mask, but I found the research I did on the pressure points on the face to be very interesting. May have to add some facial pressure point massage exercises to my "to try" list.
@itsfi This definitely works for the innovative mask theme! The results certainly sound great and the concept is interesting, though I'd be curious to know if you'd see different results with continued usage - I always get the feeling these types of masks are a bit gimmicky. Sure looks neat though!
@Shosh85, I hear ya - there's certainly a gimmicky bent to the mask. There's also other masks in the line with different pressure thingies (a very scientific term, don't you think?). It's Mediheal so there's a part of me that wonders what the science is behind it. At the very least, I'm putting it on my list of things that might need more experimenting. ๐ฉโ๐ฌ๐ฌ
Oh wow what an interesting concept @itsfi !! It can definitely be hard to know if itโs actually doing anything but good to hear it was hydrating at least
@Kim888, it piqued my curiosity enough to do some research on acupoints. One of these days, I may pick up a few of these masks and use them more consistently to see what results. I wonder how frequently I'd need to use them? Hmmm...maybe I'll have to see how Mediheal's customer service responds to that question. ๐
Been a while since I masked last. Last night I went with the Creme Shop Be Smooth Skin mask and the SEPHORA COLLECTION Coach x Sephora Collection Tea Rose Eye Mask Set 3 pairs Oof those burned/stung so bad I don't think it lasted 5 minutes on me, not to mention how HUGE they are. The Be smooth was eh ok, lots of serum but I drained that before I put it on lol, I've learned my lesson.
@Samtian Your post reminded me that I have those Coach eye masks, but now I'm a little afraid to use them! A burning/stinging sensation is never a good thing, especially under the eyes! Sorry to hear that!
The Creme Shop mask is super cute! Happy to hear this one turned out decent!
@Shosh85 Thank you! Hopefully yours will be fine!
What a huge disappointment, @Samtian. I canโt imagine having burning under the eye area, yikes! Hopefully your skin is all back to normal now, what a pity:/
@eshoe It is thank you! Thankfully I got them on sale. I think...
Ack!!! It burned / stung?!!! Very sorry to hear that you had to go through that @Samtian! I saw the photo of the under eye masks and thought "ooh nice that they are large enough to cover a lot of space"; then I read about your experience - oh goodness! I think I may have a set of these; ruh-roh. I'm glad you took them off; hopefully any redness or irritation caused has subsided.
@itsfi Thank you! Looking at the reviews it was only a recent one that had the same problem as me, so hopefully yours are ok! Yep things got better once I took them off.
