Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
March Madness - Competition is in the air. Find a worthy dupe of a ๐ฐmask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please!
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Your flowers are gorg, @itsfi. I'm a little jealous of your gardening skills!
This is a great comparison of this line. I don't think I've ever come across elderflower as a central mask focus before. They all sound really interesting!
Aww, thank you @quspork! ๐ I think pansies do well with the mild temps in SF. I can't say the same for the other flowers I'm working on; I can't seem to coax some of them to fully bloom. But I shall keep trying!
This is the first I've seen elderflower as the main ingredient, too; not just in a sheet mask, but in skincare in general. This one is such a pretty mask, too. I forgot to include a pic in the original post. The thicker microfiber really lent itself to a cozy, comfy wear.
The camellia one sounds nice. Too bad about the stinging. Do you know what caused it?
@elleb810, I haven't been able to pinpoint what it was that caused the stinging. I have another one of the camellia masks so I will give it another try ๐; maybe when I know my skin is in top shape and is not sensitive.
Wow. The chart is perfect. Makes it easy to find what you're looking for. Thanks for doing this.
Love your photos too. They're always so nice.
@missy94612, thank you! ๐ The chart makes it easy for me to see similarities and differences more quickly, especially if I don't use the masks I'm comparing close in time to one another.
@itsfi love seeing your comparisons!! I know I've used the elderberry and possibly the chamomile
Thank you @lmaster! ๐ค The waffle material on that chamomile mask is first rate! ๐
Well I didnโt use this while I was on the go, but I used it while cooking so Iโm going to count it haha
โ
@Kim888 , super cute packaging.
@Kim888 I'm not a big fan of the slice masks either, but this one sounds better than most! Glad it turned out nice! ๐
I'm not a big fan of the slice ones either, @Kim888 however I think they could be beneficial for shoulder/chest burns from the sun ๐ค
@lmaster @Oh yes thatโs a good idea!
The mask sounds like a good one to use for spot treatments under a regular sheet mask, @Kim888. And more importantly, what were you cookingโฒ๐ฅ๐
This looks delicious, @Kim888!
My husband caught sight of your meal and now wants to know when we'll be having it. lol.
its Flank steak sliced into a strip and rolled with marinated red peppers, spinach and sliced provolone. My parentโs butcher sometimes does them up but itโs fairly easy to just do
Thank you. Making my grocery list now. This'll be what's for dinner Friday night.
@Kim888 ๐คค now how do you cook this??
@lmaster @I just put it in the oven for 20-25 minutes (depending on how rare you like it) at 350. I did 22 minutes which was perfect medium rare.
You do definitely need the cooking twine to hold it together when cooking
