Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Whoa! Excellent work @missjeanie! ๐ I'm with you on the animal prints; there are only 3 from that line I really like and of those three, only 1 that I would seek out.
What wash off mask(s) are you fond of these days?
I'm actually trying to work through a lot of wash off's as well @itsfi I finished a Nuxe one that was just okay, and am enjoying a Skinfood brightening and Skinfood Black Sugar (I know the exfoliating isn't the best, but I just can't help but love them). I've been liking one of the Origins as well. The hemp one I believe, it's been a nice moisturizing one. I've been trying to use the Summer Friday's Jet Lag, but I honestly don't see the hype. The R&R is a nice one with the more oily texture lately. I've also been using a Holika Holika honey sleeping mask as a wash off, which is turned out to be quite nice. I don't feel bad if I've left it on for a lot longer than intended and it's helping me work through some sleeping masks.
@missjeanie, I'm trying to be more consistent with my wash off masks and trying to find out what is a good number for me to have open at any one time - full size and deluxe sizes. I had too many for a while (a surprise to no one!) but have since reined it in and am at a point where I feel okay about having multiple (but not too many) open at the same time; just how many that is, I'm not sure. Will work through that slowly. ๐
Oh, I feel the same way about the SF Jet Lag. I ended up using mine as a body cream or as part of a DIY foot mask (SF Jet Lag and a pair of socks). You know your skin best so if using the Skinfood masks more regularly works, go for it. If you're finding that it's a little drying or you're concerned about it, I've sometimes added more oil to the scrub/mask. Just add some olive oil to it - it makes it more moisturizing and gives it more slip too.
@itsfi Im currently in the โuse some up because you have way too many goingโ phase. Hopefully by summer my wash offs will be downsized and Iโll be pickier about which I purchase. The SF jet lag is one that I think may turn into a dรฉcollette mask. At least it doesnโt do anything bad!
Wow this is an impressive month of masking, @missjeanie! Are the ones you have for April, a continuation of these same lines or some of the other lines from TCS?
Other lines for this month @quspork . I want to say some of the fusions, some of the animals. I think all of the holiday and "x infused" ones are done now. I think. lol
Awesome, I look forward to seeing how those end up working out for you this month, @missjeanie.
โ
@l8totheparty I enjoyed this one as well!!
@l8totheparty Mud sheet masks are pretty fun! I tried the Rosehip one and it left me feeling really dry, but I loved how soft and smooth my skin was ๐ Glad this turned out nice for you ๐
This line of clay sheet masks is good, @l8totheparty! Way to multi/task:) Hope you are getting nearer and nearer to your grad date, so exciting!!
I am and I can't wait! @eshoe
This line is such a nice way to mud mask without the fuss of a wash-off mask. I definitely hear you on the watching out for dryness though, @l8totheparty!
preach on the skin getting drier as we age @l8totheparty ! I remember liking this mask just as something different to try out, was fun to see a mud mask in a sheet mask. But like you I don't know that it would be a re-purchase. Awesome that you got to move around and not worry about drips though!!
@missjeanie @l8totheparty, oh goodness, if skin gets drier as we age, I'm going to have to start hoarding face oils. I'm not sure the supply of oils can meet the demands of my face! ๐
lol @itsfi maybe it's not everyone? I swear when I hit 35 it was like a switch went off.
@missjeanie, I feel like my skin is going through an identity crisis and is trying to find itself. Lately it's been super dry and really sensitive! ๐
the sensitive part is always the worst @itsfi !
N is for Narikiri
Hmmmm, this almost sounds like the Hello Kitty version of the Moschino x Sephora Bear mask, @itsfi ๐ป cute, fun, and generously sized๐
@eshoe, this was oversized, but the Moschino bear would best it in a duel of sizes! The latter smells better too; at least to me it does. ๐ฏ
