๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Itโ€™s May, Hurray! ๐ŸŒธ We are almost 1/2-way through this yearโ€™s challenge๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐Ÿ’— Post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcome.

This Weekโ€™s Theme: Masks that Make You Hungry ๐Ÿ˜‹Is it the scent..or the packaging? Which masks make you crave a yummy treat? It is no surprise that this weekโ€™s delicious theme is brought to you by none other than @itsfi! ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿต

Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

It was a numbers theme earlier this week.

Avocado - 5 step b.jpgAvocado - 5 step a.jpg

My initial impression after using the JiiNJU 5 Step Travel Kit Vacay Glow earlier in the week was that the cleansing oil (Step 1) was my favorite of the steps (I loved the lightness of the oil and it did a pretty nice job for a first cleanse), followed by the toner (Step 3) and the sheet mask (Step 4), which while overall very large, adhered well and left my skin feeling plump and moisturized. Both the cream cleanser (Step 2) and the moisturizer (Step 5) were thicker than I prefer with the cream cleanser being more challenging to spread and massage over my face without first thinning it out with water.

Unfortunately, my impression of the mask changed the next day when I noticed that I broke out from something in one or possibly all of the products. Ugh. There's another D, for D'oh!!!! Fortunately, the reaction wasnโ€™t as bad as it could have been and for that Iโ€™m grateful. It's better now, almost as it was like before I used the mask. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the fun theme @emaisgr8

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Wow, 5 steps! I think that's the most I've seen packaged together in a single mask, @itsfi. It'd be a great idea for a travel kit. That's too bad something didn't agree with your skin though!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I was surprised and impressed that there was a 5-step pack like this @quspork, with both skincare and a mask. I feel like this is something that would translate well for brands like CosRx, Etude House and Missha -  traditional skincare and sheet masks from those brands tend to be good overall.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Boo to breakouts, @itsfi!! Too bad, it was such cute packaging

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Yes @haleyvvvv, I agree - boo to breakouts! (Lol; autocorrect wanted to say boo to breakfast!). The packaging is super cute; perhaps a reminder not to judge a book by its cover. I am curious to know what Iโ€™m these items broke me out. Not so curious to try each step again but separately. ๐Ÿ˜†

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi  This one goes so nicely with the theme. Sorry you had a breakout, though. I feel like I almost picked this one up at some point...but ultimately decided against it. Maybe because I'm really bad at opening up packaging like that. Whenever I am in the shower and have a sample shampoo/conditioner packet, I wind up having to tear it open with my teeth (which I find kinda gross and hate doing). I usually end up with a mouthful of shampoo, too.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I so relate @PrettyPaint to getting a mouthful of shampoo / conditioner when trying to open a foil packet in the shower. Blech! ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ If I remember, I try to reach for my scissors to snip off the corner before jumping in the shower. Doesn't always go according to plan though.

It's too bad this set didn't work out; would have been handy for the next time travel is an option. Just thankful my reaction wasn't too bad and that, for the most part, no more bumps.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi Hmmm, I don't think I've ever seen a 5 step mask before! I love how colorful it is ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

It's too bad it made you break out! I wonder if it was caused by steps 2 and 5, since they were so thick. I know there's been some thick moisturizers that have caused break-outs for me. Could you tell if there's any ingredients that might've been the culprit(s)?

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Shosh85, I have a feeling it was all the pretty colors that made me pick it up; it looks fun and I thought it might be a good one to pack with me when I had a one-day trip. At first, I thought it might be the yucca root extract in the moisturizing cream because I don't recall using anything with that ingredient in it before this 5-piece set, but that's not an ingredient in the cleansing foam wash. Yucca root extract is also in the toner though. All steps seem to contain limonene, linalool and fragrance - maybe having so much of those products collectively is what caused me to break out? Hmmm....

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

โ€ƒSaturday morning masking- last very combo.

My skin loves the gentle smoothing of the AMOREPACIFIC Treatment Enzyme Peeling Masque 2.70 oz/ 80 mL
It was a great combo โ˜บ๏ธ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Ahhhh. Just seeing the AP mask puts a smile on my face @l8totheparty! โ™ฅ๏ธ Lovely masking combo!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Great combo! @l8totheparty

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

The AP has had positive reviews on here from others as well, @l8totheparty๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Oh! I got a kick out of your card, TY so much for thinking of me! Hope you are loving your new home:)

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I sure am! ๐Ÿ™‚ @eshoe

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@l8totheparty  Ouhhhh and this is why I have too many masks.  I really want to try that enzyme peeling mask.  I love their enzyme peeling powder.  I wonder how similar the results are between the two.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I have them both @heartsmyface , and the masque is more. Better and stronger. The powder is a nice touch up, an in-between type of thing, but you will notice the masque as having deeper action, and having more noticeable results. Can not use it everyday, unlike the powder.

I love the masque.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@l8totheparty Ahhhh, thank you (but also โ€˜how could you!?โ€™ ๐Ÿ˜†) onto my list then!  Itโ€™s clear Iโ€™m going to have to declutter masks that didnt 100percent wow me to make room to try new ones.
I need to remember to opt for minis of masks I havenโ€™t tried yet if theyโ€™re an option cause Iโ€™m more likely to get through them

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I have noticed the powder as a mini, but not the masque. I find it hard to throw away skin care that doesn't wow me, so if you manage- all the power to you! @heartsmyface

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I had added on this Holler and Glow, "Fresh Outta Juice" (Watermelon) clay mask to a Target order without really knowing anything about it. I had never heard of this brand before, so it may be a Target brand. The name also reminded me of a band or song title, so we'll go with that.

It's a pink clay mask. It dried down like a typical clay mask and had pretty typical clay mask effects. It was nice and refreshing, and I was surprised by how much was in the packet. I thought it was just one-time use, but there was definitely enough in there to use it twice. What I liked about it most was that it actually smelled a bit like watermelon. I thought that was cool because usually clay masks tend to smell like....clay.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@PrettyPaint  I tried a sheet mask from this brand and was not impressed, but this sounds much better! Will have to look out for this one, because a watermelon scented clay mask sounds wonderful! Glad you enjoyed it! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Shosh85  Oh I didn't even realize they had sheet masks. I'm not especially picky when it comes to clay masks, but it was nice to have a scented one.
