Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@Shosh85  Oh, I keep meaning to try this one! The packaging is so fun. So glad to see the results are nice too.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@PrettyPaint  It really is a fun one and the material is so unique! Would definitely like to try the others! πŸ˜ƒ

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

This one sounds really good @Shosh85! 😍 Interesting that it reminds you of a mud sheet mask but your description of the material makes that make sense. I will have to put this one on my list, and maybe use it at 7:00am. πŸ˜ The names on this line of masks are cute.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@itsfi This is such a good one! Even though I am awake at 7:00 AM, I'm not sure I'm awake enough to mask.... but I'm sure a cold sheet would wake me up though! πŸ˜† Have you had the chance to try any of these?

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

I don't think I've tried any of the ones from this brand/line @Shosh85. I can't remember how many there are - 7:00am and 10:00pm are the only ones that come to mind, but I feel like I've seen a mid-afternoon one. Maybe that's just me though and I feel like there should be one for mid-afternoon masking? πŸ˜† I saw them a few times at Nordstrom Rack pre-covid but I was actually being good then about my no-buy! πŸ€£ I know; that is actually possible. πŸ˜…

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@itsfi  What, you actually stuck to your no-buy? That's unheard of! Haha! Good job Fi!

These are the masks I've seen.... unaware if there's any others.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Ooouh; thanks @Shosh85! Does that top left say β€œ1:00am?” 😳 I’m sure it’s marketed for use after a night on the town. For me though that 1:00am mask would be for use when I get up in the wee hours of the morning and can’t get back to sleep. πŸ˜” There is a mask for every occasion, it seems. 😝 Seeing these, I’m not sure I’ve used any.

I know! I’m shocked myself really about the sheet mask no buy. πŸ˜‚ It even happened pre-covid and lasted months, plural. Crazy! Of course, the more recent months, with the stay at home, the no buy has been a lot easier (broken by my purchase of the JLo mask), which has made possible a sheet mask collection that now fits neatly (as opposed to spilling over) in a bin. ☺️

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

It was a numbers theme earlier this week.

Avocado - 5 step b.jpgAvocado - 5 step a.jpg

My initial impression after using the JiiNJU 5 Step Travel Kit Vacay Glow earlier in the week was that the cleansing oil (Step 1) was my favorite of the steps (I loved the lightness of the oil and it did a pretty nice job for a first cleanse), followed by the toner (Step 3) and the sheet mask (Step 4), which while overall very large, adhered well and left my skin feeling plump and moisturized. Both the cream cleanser (Step 2) and the moisturizer (Step 5) were thicker than I prefer with the cream cleanser being more challenging to spread and massage over my face without first thinning it out with water.

Unfortunately, my impression of the mask changed the next day when I noticed that I broke out from something in one or possibly all of the products. Ugh. There's another D, for D'oh!!!! Fortunately, the reaction wasn’t as bad as it could have been and for that I’m grateful. It's better now, almost as it was like before I used the mask. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the fun theme @emaisgr8

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Wow, 5 steps! I think that's the most I've seen packaged together in a single mask, @itsfi. It'd be a great idea for a travel kit. That's too bad something didn't agree with your skin though!

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

I was surprised and impressed that there was a 5-step pack like this @quspork, with both skincare and a mask. I feel like this is something that would translate well for brands like CosRx, Etude House and Missha -  traditional skincare and sheet masks from those brands tend to be good overall.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Boo to breakouts, @itsfi!! Too bad, it was such cute packaging

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Yes @haleyvvvv, I agree - boo to breakouts! (Lol; autocorrect wanted to say boo to breakfast!). The packaging is super cute; perhaps a reminder not to judge a book by its cover. I am curious to know what I’m these items broke me out. Not so curious to try each step again but separately. πŸ˜†

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@itsfi  This one goes so nicely with the theme. Sorry you had a breakout, though. I feel like I almost picked this one up at some point...but ultimately decided against it. Maybe because I'm really bad at opening up packaging like that. Whenever I am in the shower and have a sample shampoo/conditioner packet, I wind up having to tear it open with my teeth (which I find kinda gross and hate doing). I usually end up with a mouthful of shampoo, too.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

I so relate @PrettyPaint to getting a mouthful of shampoo / conditioner when trying to open a foil packet in the shower. Blech! πŸ˜Ÿ If I remember, I try to reach for my scissors to snip off the corner before jumping in the shower. Doesn't always go according to plan though.

It's too bad this set didn't work out; would have been handy for the next time travel is an option. Just thankful my reaction wasn't too bad and that, for the most part, no more bumps.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@itsfi Hmmm, I don't think I've ever seen a 5 step mask before! I love how colorful it is πŸ˜ƒ

It's too bad it made you break out! I wonder if it was caused by steps 2 and 5, since they were so thick. I know there's been some thick moisturizers that have caused break-outs for me. Could you tell if there's any ingredients that might've been the culprit(s)?

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@Shosh85, I have a feeling it was all the pretty colors that made me pick it up; it looks fun and I thought it might be a good one to pack with me when I had a one-day trip. At first, I thought it might be the yucca root extract in the moisturizing cream because I don't recall using anything with that ingredient in it before this 5-piece set, but that's not an ingredient in the cleansing foam wash. Yucca root extract is also in the toner though. All steps seem to contain limonene, linalool and fragrance - maybe having so much of those products collectively is what caused me to break out? Hmmm....

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Masking with numbers, with 100% Camillia Japonica oil:

TheΓ‚ Suqqu Moisture Rich Maskhas been reviewed here before; it is a comforting and hydrating mask that is very thick, jelly-like and subtly rose-scented. It turns from a clear gel to milky when applied with anything more than a light touch. From what I've read online, you don't want it to turn white, but I find it difficult to do this as I cover my face. It is one I reach for often, but can't say I would repurchase it as there are other options for hydration that seem to work just as well.

The Starskin 100% Camellia Nourishing & Brightening is a 2-step mask. The first part is a capsule composed of 100% oil from camellia japonica seeds. It is considered to be a dry oil, because it doesn’t leave the skin feeling oily. It was scentless, and absorbed quickly. After using a generous amount, I still had almost 2/3 remaining. The mask itself had a single protective coating, and appeared to have a mesh-like texture. The fit was comfortable, and after smoothing down, adhered to my skin for the next 30 or so minutes. After removing, I found my skin pleasantly plumped, with minimal tack. No redness, irritation, or swelling - this one was a winner! I would love to use this again, everything about it felt like a special treat.

To finish, I applied a layer of the Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask 0.32 oz/ 9g on my lips and Glow Recipe Mini Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask 1 oz/ 30 mL. I meant to apply the remaining camellia seed oil before falling asleep, but since I didn't, I will use it tonight. My skin felt smooth this morning, a tad dry, but I think the oil would help in sealing it all in. I have a feeling that might not be the correct order, I always seem to get the two mixed up! Either way, it was a very pleasant masking. Thank you @emaisgr8, loved this week's challenge idea!

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@eshoe  This whole combination looks so nice. I haven't tried the suqqu mask, but I have a special place in my heart for suqqu products. And I am 95% sure I have that sheet mask somewhere - now I need to find it!

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

The mask was from last year’s June Allure box, @PrettyPaint. The same one with the watermelon PΓΌrlisse charcoal cleanser.

Do you have any beauty items form Suqqu? I love how they look and the fact they are sheer (though I personally have never tried them). The brushes are what first caught my eye, but I haven’t tried those yet, either. Maybe some day!

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@eshoe  Aha!  - that's probably why I have that mask. I did have an allure subscription back then (I cancelled when they raised the price). I always misplace sheet masks when they come in beauty boxes.

I haven't purchased suqqu in a couple of years so I'm not sure if their shadows are still the same, but really do love their eye shadows and enjoy their sheer texture. I also like their liquid eyebrow pen. I really wish suqqu was easier to obtain in the US.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@PrettyPaint I really hope to try their blushes and shadows at some point. The sheerness is what appeals to me, too!
