Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐Ÿ’—

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Shosh85, I like those Holika Holika masks for daily masking or when I don't feel like thinking about what mask to use.

Ohhhhh, Peripera sheet masks. Every time I see you post about one, my emotions go up and down like a roller coaster . . . happy and excited because I know it'll be a good mask, at the very least. Then sad knowing they are being phased out. To then being curious how many more I have in the "reserves" section of my mask library. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@itsfi  Yep, exactly, I'd consider this Holika Holika line to be good filler masks. I have 10 packs in a couple of the varieties and I'm kinda regretting buying them - I just don't need that many filler masks ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

The whole Peripera situation makes me so sad. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ It's bad enough when one mask you like gets discontinued, but a whole brand of masks?!! โ˜น๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Iโ€™ve seen that Holika Holika mask and was curious, @Shosh85. Good to know I can be on my merry way without trying it! Something about that violet (?) hue is so pretty, though, nice packaging.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@eshoe @Shosh85  Thatโ€™s what I was going to say, the nice packaging is the real draw.  I think I have a few of these but maybe different โ€˜flavoursโ€™

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@heartsmyface @eshoe  All the masks in the line are pretty bright, bold colors - every color of the rainbow ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Guilty over here for picking up a mask just for the packaging, @heartsmyface - I canโ€™t believe I havenโ€™t had more duds given my technique.

@Shosh85โ€˜s mask reminded me of this one I bought, because I thought the design was cool ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Havenโ€™t tried it yet, but guess now I will add it in for next week - B for Berry.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@Shosh85 sorry the holika wasn't impressive, I've not tried that one, but the packaging is pretty cool

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@lmaster  The results were actually pretty good, the scent just wasn't the greatest.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

I'm not a huge fan of earthy scents @Shosh85

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Good to see another Peripera winner, @Shosh85! It's such a shame they aren't going to keep making these.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@quspork  I don't think there's been one Peripera mask that I haven't liked!

111 Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask
111 skin.jpg

The 411:
Spoiler
What I Liked: Adherence on the 111 Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask is good, especially for a hydrogel mask, which has a tendency to slip and slide around the face. The mask itself is a beautiful rose gold shade, smells wonderfully of roses and imparts a relaxing cooling sensation while worn and also for some time after removal. The essence in this mask boasts some good-for-you-skincare ingredients, including:

  • Brightening: niacinamide, licorice root extract, colloidal gold
  • Soothing: allantoin, panthenol, centella asiatica extract,
  • Hydrating and Moisturizingcarrageenan, allantoin, panthenol, trehalose, sodium hyaluronate, rose extract, hydrogenated lecithin
  • Anti-aging: hydrolyzed collagen, hexapeptide

Results-wise, 20 minutes of wear delivered a lovely, fresh and bright radiance to the skin, which makes this a very good choice to use to prep the skin for makeup before a special event or occasion.

Area(s) for Improvement: Size and Fit of the mask were off in that I found the eye holes were very small and narrow (and I wouldn't say that my eyes are particularly large either), there was a lot of extra material around the nose, and the mask was overly wide, but that latter issue is a fairly common occurrence for me. Price is also another area that could be better, at least in my mind, as this pretty mask will cost you a pretty penny . . . $32 + sales tax worth of pennies. Though, it comes out to $27 per mask if you purchase a set of 5 and $25 per mask if you pick up a 10-pack.  I was very fortunate to receive this mask as part of a subscription box and also as part of unicorn mail. While I'm not adverse to splurging on a sheet mask every now and again, $32 is quite the splurge. FYI: this mask contains citrus fruit extract, alcohol and added fragrance, which have been known to be common allergens so those who are sensitive or just seeking to avoid such ingredients will likely want to pass on this one (your wallet thanks you for it!)

My last mask for the year. There's a little less than two-and-an-half more hours until the clock strikes midnight here, but I think I'm going with the East Coast which has already bid adieu to 2020. Wishing everyone a healthy, safe and happy 2021! ๐Ÿค—

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Finally read your review on this one - totally agree that it's a nice one but pricey. Mine came from a subscription box, too. I'm not sure if yours was like this, but it was interesting that the eye/mouth holes still had the cut outs in the pack. I'm not sure if they are all like that.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@PrettyPaint, one of the perks of sub boxes is being able to try things I might not otherwise pick up on my own. I just couldnโ€™t keep up with all the products I would accumulate between sub boxes and what Iโ€™d personally pick up. My 111Skin mask had the holes for this eyes but interestingly, not the mouth. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜†

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi Haha. How random that yours didn't have the mouth hole. I really wish I knew about the mask manufacturing process, but I guess their hole punch thing was having issues (that's how I envision it, at least).

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Very random @PrettyPaint! lol. If I were to visit Korea, taking a tour of a sheet mask facility would be on my list of things to do. My parents traveled through parts of Asia years ago, including Korea. They, in fact, went to companies that made sheet masks and kimchi. They don't remember much details other than they were there. What?! It made me question whether we are related. Learning to make sheet masks and kimchi?! How do you forget things like that?! ๐Ÿคฃ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

This one does seem to have better adherence than so many other hydro gels, @itsfi - but yikes on the price! There are some good ingredients, I am surprised by how lengthy the list is, though. Raspberry ketones are a new one, I have not seen that in a mask yet.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe, it's definitely not a common ingredient in sheet masks. It's in the Callyssee coffee mask as well.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I wonder if it is used to add a pleasant scent, @itsfi ๐Ÿค” And thank you for introducing me to a brand I had not yet heard of; a good coffee mask sounds ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  I'm always curious about these luxury masks, but never enough to buy one. ๐Ÿ˜‰ It sounds nice! Glad you were able to try this one out without paying full price for it๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

This one was definitely fun to try @Shosh85. There are so many new and innovative masks constantly coming to market, at various price points, that, at least for me, it makes a mask like this 111Skin, as lovely and luxe as it is, feel less like something that needs to be tested.
