Itโ€™s May, Hurray! ๐ŸŒธ We are almost 1/2-way through this yearโ€™s challenge๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Oh gosh, that mask is so cute. Too bad it was a bit of a dud, @heartsmyface

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@haleyvvvv  Yeah, canโ€™t win em all.  Itโ€™s not a complete dud cause it did moisturize my face enough for makeup application.  Just not a pleasant wear.

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

Looks like a mask for a Scottish fold, @heartsmyface. Cute but does not look the least bit comfortable!

Re: ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ’–

@eshoe   Hahaha, it is!! ๐Ÿ˜‚. Iโ€™m not sure what the purpose of the ears is supposed to be cause getting it in my hair made it look gross and unwashed.   If they made a Scottish gold cat mask with floppy ears Iโ€™d be all over that comfort or not!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

for DuoBananas is a big part of a still catchy song by Gwen Stefani

1st time using the duo....i don't like cleansers i can't use on my eyes.๐Ÿคท that is where I wear makeup when I wear makeup so unless this does some shock & awe to my overall face it wont be a purchase.

On to the mask! ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ

Fit?Ok, only some upper lip annoyance. It was pretty wide. Not to much roz

Smell?great. Like ๐ŸŒ

Consistency?clear, thinnish, silky.

Ease of use?none really except for the lip part

Would I  purchase/try again? Happy to have found a box at TJ or M. Left this on for about 20 min everything soaked in with only some tack left. But it maybe the duo. And of course finished off with my lano banana ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yummy banana!! @sonnydee

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Mmmmmm @sonnydee. I love that mask - I was lucky to get to try one from MOTM. It's definitely a good one.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Fun song, fab mask! Definitely a combo to go B-A-N-A-N-A-S for, @sonnydee๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸŒ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Ahhh everyone loves this mask, @sonnydee ๐Ÿฅฐ I have one as well that I am โ€˜savingโ€™ you know how that goes. I havenโ€™t seen that CT, but sounds like a pass.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee  This is such a nice one - I love that scent! It's hard to go wrong with bananas! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸŒ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee @lol my mind still plays that song when I have to spell bananas

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

๐Ÿ˜‚ @Kim888. when I saw what theme this week was, I immediately thought of that song & this mask or the other apieu banana milk mask ๐Ÿค—but I wanted to try this out.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

W is for Wow!

D is for dream mask for dry, dehydrated and/or dull skin

The 411: The soft, thin microfiber of the Vitabrid Dual Mask Age-Defying Firming is a perfect accompaniment to the milky liquid essence. The mask makes some big claims - hydrating, moisturizing, age-defying and firming - and while I find the latter two claims to require more than a single use for review purposes, the ingredients list on this Vitabrid mask nonetheless supports its claims, with notable ingredients including but not limited to niacinamide, Vitamin C, a host of peptides and essential oils, Co-Q10, sodium hyaluronate, and allantoin. Other than the routine minor adjustments to the corners of the eye and mouth hole to make for a better fit, the mask adhered beautifully, wore comfortably the entire 40 minutes I had it on, and performed amazingly well. My skin felt soft, smooth, hydrated and moisturized and my complexion had that clear, bright, fresh-faced lit from within glow to it.
What I Liked: Milky liquid essences in sheet masks usually make for a great pairing with my dehydrated and dry skin and such was the case here. This mask has so much going for it - soft, comfortable material; wonderful results - softens, hydrates, moisturizes and brightens skin. And let me just say it again, that milky liquid essence - ahhhh. What's even better is that there's a generous amount of this essence in the packet. Yessss!!!!
Area(s) For Improvement: Just a few small ones. Slightly wider holes for the eyes and mouth would be helpful. Also, including the full ingredients list on the brand's website (it would make it easier to cut and paste and I do attribute where it comes from; that's easier than typing the list out from the back of the mask). I know the brand has a Vitamin C serum but I'm wondering if they carry the essence from this mask as a standalone product. If not, "Dear Vitabrid, please consider launching this essence as its own product."
Repurchase?: I received a few of these masks as gwps and in unicorn mail, and haven't purchased one of these myself yet. While it's not the most expensive mask we've seen, at $8, the price might elicit another D - "D'oh!!" That said, I would shell out my own money for another one of these masks after I've used up the ones in my current stash. I'd even consider treating myself to it every now and again at full price.
My Two Cents: Dry skin? Dehydrated skin? Skin in need of a little pick me up? This mask is worth trying if you answer yes to any of these questions. I do note that I experienced a very slight amount of tingling which I attribute to the vitamin C, but it was very brief. My skin felt very well nourished by this mask and it's been a while since my mug looked so bright and glowy. This is one of the best masks I've used and an absolute love. Great for a special occasion or just because. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

One of the best masks you've used?? @itsfi I love how nourishing you say it is!!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Another milky serum for the win, @itsfi. Your roller is nice, too - very soothing in appearance.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yep @eshoe, the milky serums are wonderful for the dry skin, especially in the cooler seasons. ๐Ÿ˜ Rollers are great, to use on their own or with a mask; this one was gifted to me by the lovely @heartsmyface๐Ÿ’

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi You gifted me this one and I definitely remember loving it! If only it was a tad bit cheaper I'd stock up! Happy to hear it's a love for you as well! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

It's so good @Shosh85! I had a sample of another product from the brand and liked it and it jogged my memory that I have a few of these I haven't used. So glad I used it. I should use the other sheet mask from this brand soon, too. Good reminder. I need to sort through my masks and figure out which ones to use / try before year end. Who knew having just one face would cause so many problems?!? ๐Ÿคฃ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

S is for sold me on it! @itsfi This sounds like my perfect mask... minus the price point.  Have you noticed it sold with many different retailers?  Okay... went and did a quick check mid response... looks like Amazon USA has it, and they have a US store that ships free over 40$ (this mask pack was 5$ less expensive on their store).  I may need to wait till I can get to my mailbox, but I've bookmarked their site! Thanks for the stellar review Fi!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oooohh, thanks for the shopping intel @missjeanie! That's good information. I told myself I could hit 'pause' on my 'sheet mask no buy' once before the end of the year, but I'm wondering whether I should just hold off and wait for after the New Year, as I don't need more sheet masks. As that really hasn't stopped me in the past, we shall see ...

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

This morning I went with Vita Jelly Sheet mask. The serum has that awesome jelly texture that feels great. I have used these many times before with no problems, but I think I should have waited a month or for my skin to calm down because it left me a bit pink after. Not painful like the last one, but it was definitely a bb cream day. I do strongly recommend these masks though, I've used them many times with awesome results. But now I know when to use them and when not to!

So, to soothe everything I went with lookatme Aloe Vera. Worked great, obvs. I grew up with a giant Aloe plant in the backyard and would break off a bit and squeeze out the aloe and use it as a homemade mask at the end of a day. This was the 80s-90s so it's been a while. I've been on a lookatme kick lately and I think I may only have one left! Noooooo!!!! I'm in a COVID hotbed area and probably can't even get into a TJMaxx if I wanted to. So, I'm going to wait to go out on the hunt again. As a note for those with sensitive skin I do have a container of Nature Republic Aloe gel and when I had that major skin reaction it helped a lot in conjunction with Aquaphor and cortizone on the major burn/blister type spots. I think I want to experiment homemade formulas using my reusable mask, something that really really hydrates and soothes.

And chamomile heat mask, of course a winner.
