Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

It was one of those days where it all came together @lmaster !

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

W is for Wishtrend. Gifted to me from the lovely @eshoe πŸ˜Š

Wishtrend Hours-long Moisturizing Gauze Sheet Mask

This is a two piece mask that they say is gauze, but it seemed more like tencel and was coated with a slippery gel serum that felt kind of like firm jello. It reminds me exactly of  the MISSHA Ice Sorbet Cooling Moisture Sheet Mask I've used a couple times and really love. (I think eshoe has mentioned the same thing before too πŸ˜‰) The scent was light and was a mix of fruity and floral - I thought it was pleasant. It fit good - just a smidge too long at the chin, not quite wide enough by the ears and the mouth hole was a bit too small. The mask was super comfortable to wear and adhered well except for the extra length at the chin that popped up occasionally during 25 minutes I had it on. When I removed it there was a little serum left that was just slightly tacky, but it all absorbed in a few minutes. My skin felt soft, plumped and moisturized and had a nice dewy glow.

I really enjoyed this mask! I'd definitely love to order more!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85, this is such a marvelous mask. I love the material on it. Happy to hear it worked so well for you!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Happy to hear you enjoyed this one as well! The texture of it is so unique, I'd definitely love to find more like it! I'm pretty sure the Missha mask that is similar to this is discontinued, otherwise I'd be stocking up on both!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85, yes, it is similar to the Missha and a couple of some lanseal masks I used a year or so ago that I really liked.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Yes! I knew there had been another mask like this! The "Your Peace Lanseal Glow Mask" you gave me was very similar as well! Thanks for reminding me of more mask purchases I need to make! Haha! πŸ˜‚

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Adding this to my list now, @Shosh85 πŸ˜™

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Hahaha @Shosh85! It’s so fascinating how many masks we *need*! πŸ˜† That Your Peace mask is my favorite. The Wishtrend one is what I recommended to folks on this thread in lieu of it.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85 when I see gauze mask,,, I'm immediately intrigued,,, has there been a gauze mask you didn't like?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Me too @lmaster. Anytime I see the word "gauze" on a mask I immediately want to buy it! I haven't tried too many gauze masks, but I definitely don't remember disliking any! I think my favorite one was The Saem Natural-Tox Apple mask - and of course it's discontinued 😒

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

That's so super sad too,,, that was a wonderful mask @Shosh85 πŸ˜’

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh yay, @Shosh85! I was so excited when @PrettyPaint sent this one to me, I had to share:D The texture was different than I expected, but in a good way. This is the only other mask I’ve tried that mimics the Ice Sorbet one, which is very cool indeed. Happy to hear your skin enjoyed it, too!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe  Thank you so much for sending me this one! I never thought I'd run into one that was so much like the Missha mask! The texture of it really does feel so nice!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

That is so great to hear, @Shosh85

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh this sounds like a great mask @Shosh85 Gotta say, your description of the texture had me hooked.  Might need to look this one up!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@missjeanie  I really loved the uniqueness of it! I definitely need to get more! πŸ˜ƒ

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

This morning I went with Vita Jelly Sheet mask. The serum has that awesome jelly texture that feels great. I have used these many times before with no problems, but I think I should have waited a month or for my skin to calm down because it left me a bit pink after. Not painful like the last one, but it was definitely a bb cream day. I do strongly recommend these masks though, I've used them many times with awesome results. But now I know when to use them and when not to!

So, to soothe everything I went with lookatme Aloe Vera. Worked great, obvs. I grew up with a giant Aloe plant in the backyard and would break off a bit and squeeze out the aloe and use it as a homemade mask at the end of a day. This was the 80s-90s so it's been a while. I've been on a lookatme kick lately and I think I may only have one left! Noooooo!!!! I'm in a COVID hotbed area and probably can't even get into a TJMaxx if I wanted to. So, I'm going to wait to go out on the hunt again. As a note for those with sensitive skin I do have a container of Nature Republic Aloe gel and when I had that major skin reaction it helped a lot in conjunction with Aquaphor and cortizone on the major burn/blister type spots. I think I want to experiment homemade formulas using my reusable mask, something that really really hydrates and soothes.

And chamomile heat mask, of course a winner.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Love aloe @Weetart! I have aloe sheet masks and aloe gel around all the time, and have since picked up an aloe plant. πŸ˜ƒ You raise such a good point about how a mask can perform differently for us depending on what’s going on with our skin on a particular day. Will keep that in mind with the Vita Jelly mask.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Weetart my gma had an aloe vera plant ☺️ the best ever to have on hand!! What happened to make you have a sensitive reaction?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster I used Tonymoly Vital Vita 12 jelly  face wash. I actually have made an appointment to the dermatologist, to deal with it. I have also had this particular reaction to Aveeno products. I get a blistering rash in spots and my skin is extra sensitive for months after. Maybe I should compare the ingredient lists and see if there are commonalities. I’m also careful around β€œnatural products” in general, food and otherwise because they can be more of a miss than hit.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh my!! @Weetart that sounds painful 😣
