This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Yeah, it is 1 that's featured in the ulta mask must haves masking set. I hauled it fairly recently - this month, ๐ค looking for my pic....there it is! It has some new to me, some different...tula is in there. @lmaster
โ
@sonnydee so glad this one didn't sting your eyes!
Me too! ๐ค but it very well could be the scent & oils were diluted at this point. Still smelled ok, so I gave it a go! ๐ @missjeanie I have 1 more that came in the set from ipsy. I have a bin that I started this month, placing the ones that need to be gone now & I'm trying to empty that before the new year. So I may not be able to go with the theme each week ๐คท but I'm killing my stash.
@sonnydee the 'needs to go now' bin sounds like a good idea.
Lol... @sonnydee youโre telling me! I feel like even attempting to get a ยดuse now, these are going to expire soonโ may be a grand undertaking over here that Iโm just not mentally prepared for lol! Youโre a step ahead!
Oh don't kid yourself @missjeanie the ones that are in my use now are already expired ๐ they are upright, the ones that I want to use-fit the week theme, look interesting, etc. they are in there too but on their side. I'll take a pic when I can...๐
@sonnydee This just made my day! I'm not afraid of an expired mask either lol
Yeah @Shosh85, I think I'm of the same mindset. I personally don't think it's bio-cellulose, but there's probably shares enough characteristics of both bio-cellulose and hydrogel that slotting it into one category might not be accurate. I have one more from the set so I'll try to pay closer attention when I reach for that one.
I just used a gel mask from sc @itsfi and it was definitely gel, yours absolutely looks like biocellulose!!
okay well dang @itsfi that mask sure is see through! I have no idea what material it is, but it's the first I've seen that's completely see though.
How do you like the Milk lip mask? I mean other than for the incredible matching packaging lol. I've been crushing on Milk of late and have hesitated on the mask, for some reason I have it in my head that it smells floral? Not that I need to be buying more lip masks ( I suspect I have enough open for the next 5-10 years) but do I need this??
@missjeanie, the MILK lip balm has a subtle lavender scent to it. You know I love me my lip balms. Even so, I donโt usually repurchase a lip balm (mainly because I already have a healthy amount lol) unless itโs for a gift, but I would repurchase this one, as a gift for myself and for others. ๐ It is a very photogenic lip mask as well as being one that absorbs quickly and hydrates my lips. Itโs less thick and tacky than the Laneige lip masks. I have both on my nightstand and itโs typically this or the Laneige that I use right before calling it a night.
@itsfi Itโs exactly your love of balms that pushed me to ask about this one. I knew youโd have a good comparison! Iโm currently alternating my night time balm between the old version of the bite lip mask (my favourite), the Mamonde lip mask, and the bkr. I do still have my original leneige on my night stand, but at this point itโs more of a relic that I keep around for postรฉritรฉs sake. This one for me just never lived up to the hype. Iโm thinking since the milk ranks so highly for you and my affinity for the brand has been growing.... Iโm gonna need it. Lol
I know right @Samtian?! I havenโt seen other sheet masks looking like this. Interestingly, it also had a slightly tacky/sticky feeling to it, which I donโt usually get from a sheet mask after itโs dry. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
How was the slip against your skin, @itsfi? For some of the more gel-like biocellulose I feel like sometimes that's the biggest difference for me- the bio is usually snug and adheres like a second skin while a hydrogel has a bit more slip to it. It does feel like there's a wide variety in what gets called biocellulose across masks!
Excellent point and question @quspork! ๐ This was a little slippery to work with which adds more to the โthis feels more like a hydrogel maskโ position, but itโs not as slippery as some hydrogels Iโve used. I hadnโt thought of the expansiveness of the โbio-celluloseโ category; thatโs a really good call.
