Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh @eshoe I remember going through the encyclopedias and the card catalogues at the library to research in elementary and a bit in high school.  Actually I remember even using them in university!  My old lady statement for the day ... "kids these days don't know how easy they have it with google right on their phones". lol

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Nice lineup here!! Love the Annie's way!! @missjeanie

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster  I’ll keep happily using the Annie’s way for the yummy scents alone! They totally make the experience for me!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah, the no thinking masks are moving up my personal rank @missjeanie. I still want to be cautious of 10 packs but it's great to discover our preferences with all this masking. Great job on your 2 a days!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Right @ShortErica I'm hoping no one takes my 'no thinking masks' as a bad thing.  I see them as an easy option when I look at a totally overwhelming collection where I know I'll be happy.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

1117202244.jpg

I've used another 1 of these masks -it had different botanicals...but that one had Undesirable effects on my eyes. It may them sting so Ive been hesitant to use again but...did anyway. 😑

Fit?not bad, usual extra in the chin. (I'm going to think of a cute name for that...make it more entertaining🤔) i did end up ripping the above lip part in half, it was falling down into my mouth.

Smell?faint tea tree.

Consistency?thin, clear serum. Saturated enough that it did run into the corner of my eye from the mask 😬 but luckily no sting

Ease of use?no issues after I ripped away the lip part

Would I  purchase/try again? This was expired, but still smelled ok so I used it anyway. TT is good for blemishes which i currently have on my jaw line- & it seemed to help calm every thing. & soaked in without tack. I wonder if it was fresher would of it had stung like the other one? 🤔 but either way this one was a good calming mask. 💚💚💚💚💚 if I got it in my ipsy again. I would use it, sooner than later🤗

Mamonde lip sleeping mask in plum blossom. Smells good, good hydration but woke up with a lil itty bitty dream killer right by my lip. 😳 so will use again to see if it caused or this sample will be finished off during the day.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I’ve wanted to try that Mamonde @sonnydee  but didn’t want to spend the $ unless it had a plummy scent. A dream killer, though? Did it cause peeling?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

No, no peeling just that lil pesky whitehead that is nonsense really. Ya know the kind that pops immediately & its done & over with. Usually happens when something was just a lil too much-oily, thicker serum- for my skin. Hence the name, dream killers 😑 I used it again last night with no issues @eshoe it does have a scent to it. I looked it up:

Plum blossoms are very fragrant with a scent described as spicy, sweet and flowery. The blossoms are entirely edible.

I agree with this description, it's fruity but also tart think pomegranate. They have a pomegranate one that I'm pretty tempted to get even though I don't need anymore lip masks. 😊They are not as thick as og bite but thicker than laneige

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yikes I’ve never heard that term but it’s funny and I know exactly what you are talking about @sonnydee! It does sound like one I should try, when I finally use up my Bite and Laneige stash. The never-ending masks.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

It's one I made up @eshoe that or dk. I want to think of a name for the extra part of the mask that is forever on the chin area. .....🤔 gotta think on it.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yes I’d love to hear what you come up with @sonnydee 😉

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Is that like a sample lip mask? @sonnydee

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah, it is 1 that's featured in the ulta mask must haves masking set. I hauled it fairly recently - this month, 🤔 looking for my pic....there it is! It has some new to me, some different...tula is in there. @lmaster

1116202135.jpg

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee that's a cool set!!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee so glad this one didn't sting your eyes!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Me too! 🤗 but it very well could be the scent & oils were diluted at this point. Still smelled ok, so I gave it a go! 😉 @missjeanie I have 1 more that came in the set from ipsy. I have a bin that I started this month, placing the ones that need to be gone now & I'm trying to empty that before the new year. So I may not be able to go with the theme each week 🤷 but I'm killing my stash.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee the 'needs to go now' bin sounds like a good idea.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I meant to use this mask last week for G is for Gotu Kola (aka centella asiatica aka cica) but didn't get a chance to use it so I used it this week, which means it's a U for ummm.... and unsure (if this is bio-cellulose).
KNC Big Chill.jpg
KNC Beauty Big Chill Face Mask with Aloe + Gotu has the same fit (small, but malleable), adherence (great) and wearability as the KNC Beauty Big Drip Face Mask with Irish Sea Moss + Marula Oil. I pick up a clean, fresh, almost signature sheet mask scent to it. Performance-wise, this Big Chill version, as its name would suggest, felt cool on my skin while worn (though that could have also been due to it being cold the other night). Like the Big Drip version, my skin felt lightly hydrated with this mask. My skin was pretty calm to begin with so I can't really speak to how soothing the cica in this mask might have been.

Now, after having used two masks from this line, I'm still not certain that this is as claimed, a bio-cellulose mask. This time I took a pic and tried to get the pic to show up (see spoiler). It looks less bio-cellulose and more hydrogel to me. What say you? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. I have one more mask in the set and I think I may compare and contrast it with what I know to be a hydrogel mask, specifically, the discontinued Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask.

Does this look like a bio-cellulose mask?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Hmmm, I'm not quite sure what I think this looks like, but I not so sure I'd say biocellulose. Maybe it's some kind of hybrid - like a cross between both 😂 @quspork made a good point about the slip - I think that's a great way to distinguish between the two!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah @Shosh85, I think I'm of the same mindset. I personally don't think it's bio-cellulose, but there's probably shares enough characteristics of both bio-cellulose and hydrogel that slotting it into one category might not be accurate. I have one more from the set so I'll try to pay closer attention when I reach for that one.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I just used a gel mask from sc @itsfi and it was definitely gel, yours absolutely looks like biocellulose!!
