Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks💗

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster  Sounds like a great one! So happy you loved it! I haven't tried this one yet, (now I want to of course) but Patchology makes some eye patches that have little leaves embedded in the material as well and I think it looks so pretty 😍

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85 this one is a favorite!! The gel mask is fabulous!!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Love seeing such winner masks for you @lmaster !

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh yes!!! I love this one!! Winner winner 🙌 @missjeanie

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

F is for Farm Skin and fruit, specifically, blackberries. 😋

Farm Skin Blackberry.jpg

Spoiler
Mask: Farm Skin Superfood Salad For Skin Aqua Shield Bio Cellulose Mask Blackberry

Material:3rd generation coconut bio-cellulose sheet mask

Fit:Almost perfect - about 1/4" too long at chin but also 1/4" too short at forehead. I made minor cuts to the bottom corners of the eye holes to help the material lay flat against my skin and to keep it from hovering too close to my eyes. I made similar small cuts to the material at the sides of the nose to help the mask adhere better.

Adherence:Excellent

Essence:I don't feel a lot of essence from the mask itself, which is par for the course when it comes to bio-cellulose masks. There's some extra essence in the pouch and from that you can glean that the essence is a viscous and slightly gel-ish, though not too runny or thick.

Scent:I didn't pick up on any scent, which is interesting because fragrance is listed as the last ingredient.

Purpose & Notable Ingredients:Soothing - allantoin, witch hazel

Hydrating - blackberry extract and 5-fold hyaluronic acid (I've assumed this to mean 5 different forms of hyaluronic acid)

Moisturizing - sea buckthorn fruit and a new-to-me-ingredient, melia azedarach extract

Performance & Results:I like to use bio-cellulose sheet masks after a peel or if I've been going pretty hard with AHAs/BHAs/PHAs and find them to be very effective and soothing and nourishing the skin in those instances. Since I upped my salicylic acid use this week in a concentrated attack on 2 zits threatening to wreak havoc on my chin, I decided to go with this bio-cellulose mask and my skin seems to be pleased with that choice.

The redness from the spots seemed to be less red after 30 minutes with this mask and my skin looked and felt refreshed and lightly hydrated. I find that bio-cellulose sheet masks don't leave much essence, if any, and so you don't always get that feel that you do with other sheet masks where your face is awash in this watery essence that you come to expect will completely hydrate your skin once fully absorbed. Even so, my skin felt nourished - the drier parts of my face felt soft, bouncy and hydrated and the parts that produce oil looked healthy and moisturized without being overwhelmed with hydration. My complexion had a bright, fresh-faced glow to it as well, which to me, is always a plus.

Would I Repurchase?:If I didn't have another couple of these, yes. I would also be interested in trying out the avocado (firming) version from this line.

This is what I think of when I think of a bio-cellulose mask. This is what I think of when I think of a bio-cellulose mask.

FYI: If anyone was wondering, the blackberries were delicious - perfectly juicy and sweet. I will definitely repurchase. 😁😆

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi Ahahaha the blackberry review. I love it.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I didn’t want the blackberries to feel left out @Samtian! 😆  They were as much a part of the masking experience as the mask itself. 😉

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  I saw this mask on Amazon and almost bought it (along with the avocado version), but I couldn't find the full ingredients list so I resisted. I was also a bit skeptical because I didn't see it listed at Innerest's site (they do have the clay masks listed there); I wondered if these 2 sheet masks were brand new releases or old/one-off release masks. Hmm... can you post the full ingredients, even if it's just a screenshot of the back of the sleeve in Korean? (I can get it translated.)

I'm still waiting for Farm Skin to release a watermelon sheet mask. 🙂

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@WinglessOne, I wholeheartedly second a watermelon sheet mask!! 😍 It would be a perfect addition to their salad line. Please, oh please, be listening, Farm Skin! 😉

Here’s a pic of the inci list from the back of the packaging. I wasn’t able to find it online. Let me know if you have a hard time reading it; I can type it out this weekend.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Thank you @itsfi ! 🙂 Whew, you just saved me some money: I see lavender, my face's arch nemesis. That makes this mask a hard pass for me. Too bad, because there's lots of truly beneficial stuff in the ingredients list. But I'm glad it worked well for you!

Now I wonder what's in the avocado version. I know it contains rosewater, something my face is not a fan of. Hmm... asking Google again... oh wow, now I see both these masks at Farmskin's site (not Innerest) and I can't do the avocado one either, thanks to lemon fruit extract. Otherwise, the avocado mask looks really nice. The rosewater comes from rosa centifolia, not damascus rose: the former is far less irritating to my face than the latter. And there's niacinamide, peach extract, adenosine, Farmskin's usual ferment, pomegranate extract, rooibos tea extract, and of course avocado oil... man, if it weren't for that dang lemon extract, I'd absolutely buy this mask to try. If you try it, I hope you like it!

In case anyone's curious about the avocado version's ingredients:

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@WinglessOne, you’re welcome. It’s really good you know what ingredients will not work for your skin. Yes, saves money but also saves you from having a bad reaction.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

This was an interesting read, @itsfi. I don’t think I’ve ever considered the generational aspect of biocell masks. It appears they allow for superior absorption, and then I found this from lemasque:

“A bio cellulose sheet mask goes even further. Bio cellulose can retain 100 times its dry weight in fluid – and after a 20-minute application, the bio cellulose fabric loses less than 10% of its fluid (water and serum). After 1st generation cream masks and 2nd generation paper-sheet mask,  bio-cellulose is the 3rd generation mask. The bio-cellulose sheets are 100% natural; they are made through  biotechnological fermentation of coconut water.”

So I’m curious where hydro gels stand🤔

Will need to test this out, blackberries are a sweet little guilt-free treat;)

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

That’s good info @eshoe. If I were to hazard a guess, I’d say hydrogels are either part of the 3rd generation along with bio-cellulose masks or perhaps they are 4th. That’s just a  guess though. Yes to the absorption power of biocellulose masks. I was always amazed by how my skin looked and felt so hydrated by it after a professional peel.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Yum! A fruity biocellulose mask with great results sounds perfect! (Those blackberries look pretty perfect too!😋) Farmskin really makes some great masks! I'm planning on picking up the Fresh Food Salad line, so I'll definitely have to pick up this and the avocado ones when I do!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85, looking forward to get your thoughts on Farm Skin's bio-cellulose sheet mask line. They also have clay masks that you mix yourself.

Farm skin clay mask.jpg

The plan is put this to use this weekend. 🤔 Nothing has gone quite according to my masking plans the last couple of weeks so we shall see. 🤣 It does look interesting.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  I have seen these - they look fun! l

I'll definitely be interested to hear your thoughts on it!

At first glance I thought you were showing me ice cream and the cravings instantly started flowing in 😂🍦 @missjeanie

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh, I could go for some ice cream 🍨 @Shosh85! 😋 I’m just not sure I’m motivated to crawl out from under the warm covers right now to get some. 🤔 I suppose ice cream for breakfast tomorrow isn’t a good idea. 😂 I know better at my age but that doesn’t mean I won’t think about it. 🤪

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Honestly, I could eat ice cream any time of day....... just as long as I'm right next to a heater 😂🥶 @missjeanie

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85@missjeanie, fine. You've both convinced me. 🤣 Now the only thing left to decide is which flavor to pick up or have delivered . . .

  • Brookies 'n cream - yep, that's not a typo! Chocolate brownies + gooey chocolate chip cookies + vanilla bean ice cream
  • Salted Caramel
  • Honey Fig & Cardamom with Toasted Walnut (special for the month)

Some decisions are so hard. As with most things, I *need* them to have a mini sampler set. (Talk about first world problems here, @missjeanie!)

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Dang @itsfi These all sound amazing... but I think today I'd go for the special.  Just because it may not be there next time.  But I certainly wouldn't fault any other choice.  I'm an equal opportunity ice cream lover. lol

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

"I'm an equal opportunity ice cream lover." As we all should be @missjeanie

I think I may need to pick up more than one pint. Yep, that sounds like a good idea.
