Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!

This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!

Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐Ÿ’ฎ

Spoiler
JanuaryFresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings.
FebruaryWinter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC.
MarchMarch Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please!
AprilSpring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights.
MayDew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O.
JuneSummer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Hahaha too cute @Shosh85!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Thatโ€™s a great start, @ShortErica! My husband does nothing, and of course has zero skin issues/complaints. I just do it for the fun:)

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe  Modeling masks can be super fun, especially when you have a masking buddy! Glad you both enjoyed it! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I do agree though, the Dr. Jart one may look creepy, but the whole, 'pour in and shake' is pretty convenient! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy to hear you liked the Farmskin mask too! The whole line really is nice! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I spent a lot of time thinking about how the packaging could be less, @Shosh85. I think most people wouldnโ€™t be expecting the mess these masks can be, though. I wasnโ€™t the first time!

Buddying up with this Superfood Salad mask

Spoiler

Farmskin Superfood Salad Balancing Mangosteen Sheet Mask

This is a thin tencel sheet mask that was drenched with a clear watery serum. It had  a typical sheet mask smell with a hint of fruitiness (not really sure what a Mangosteen smells like exactly- that could've been what I was smelling.) It had a great fit - just a little too long at the chin. The adherence was good, except the extra length at the chin that popped up once. It was comfortable to wear the half hour I had it on. There was maybe just the slightest bit tackiness after removing, but that lasted only a few minutes. My face felt moisturized, my complexion looked a bit more even and my skin felt soft and smooth.

This was another nice one! It's got me curious to go try a Mangosteen.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I wish I had a better sense of smell with this one, @Shosh85. It was fun to try a mask out as a group again, Iโ€™m game if anyone else is before the year ends @ShortErica @lmaster

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe @ShortErica We should definitely do more as a group! It's fun to see how similar or different our experiences are! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

YES 100% agreed @Shosh85@ShortErica Next week is T, G & my favorite, Gross Masks ๐Ÿ˜ณ @missjeanie @lmaster

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe @Shosh85 @missjeanie @lmaster

I'm cool with snail but I know others find it gross so here's what I was thinking for next week if anyone has a match. I'm sure I have others in the gross category and can always switch it up to buddy ๐Ÿ˜€

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@ShortErica @eshoe @Shosh85  I think I have that Spirulina one as well!  Is Spirulina gross?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Glad @Shosh85 could let us know what it is @missjeanie. I missed the first gross week (matched with letters instead) and I think someone used it then so I made a note to use it on gross week when it came around again

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I took a quick peek last night and didn't see mine, but I'm thinking I got it in an ipsy at some point.  I'm going to take a better look later when I'm picking out tonights mask @ShortErica , so many to look though... this is why I put the suitcase in another room for a few months lol

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I think I have that Spirulana somewhere @missjeanie @ShortErica @Shosh85 i will look for it tomorrow. Would love to try it with you all!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe  Woohoo! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

...and I donโ€™t have it, @Shosh85! I will have fun from the sidelines though ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@missjeanie  Yay!..... I think Spirulina is algae? Which I think some would consider gross? I dunno, 'cause there's really not much that grosses me out anymore ๐Ÿ˜‚

The theme also includes "odd or unusual ingredients," so it would fit there too ๐Ÿ˜‰ @ShortErica

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

lol... it's so funny what some of us find gross and others find totally normal.  I think 5 years ago I would have been totally grossed out having snail slime on my face, now I'm all for it @Shosh85 !

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@missjeanie  Haha! I know what you mean! I've always been a bit of a tomboy, but I think having two boys just made me even less sensitive to "gross" things. ๐ŸŒ

Fun fact: when I was 13 was dared to lick a banana slug.... and I did. That is not something I would ever do again ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฎ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Ummmmm yuck @Shosh85 ๐Ÿ˜‚ I donโ€™t even know what a banana slug is, but Iโ€™m pretty sure Iโ€™d never brave a dare to lick one! @missjeanie @ShortErica

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe   Yeah, I did some stupid stuff when I was teenager. I only did it because it was a dare, and I was always super competitive. I still gag when I think about it ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Yeah @Shosh85 I'm not going to comment what from nature I ate on a dare as a kid but glad to know I wasn't the only one who just had to do something and now looks back and thinks why?!
