Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

N is for Naruko and a throwback to @sonnydee's rainbow theme challenge a couple of week's ago with an indigo theme for this masking sesh, as the sheet mask, like the Tatcha body butter, contains Japanese indigo (Polygonum Tinctorium Leaf/Stem Extract).
Naruko is a Taiwainese skincare brand and produces a handful of sheet masks that I love. This soft, medium thick cotton Naruko Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Pore Minimizing and Brightening Mask is packed with a clear, lightweight essence that holds a faint scent that reminds me of .... maybe rice, or possibly barley, and claims to hydrate and brighten skin while reducing pore size. Looking at the inci list, I can see how the mask would be hydrating (i.e., snow fungus extract and two forms of hyaluronic acid (sodium PCA, sodium hyaluronate and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid) as well as brightening (i.e., Job's Tears, vitamin C derivatives). I'm not sure about the pore shrinking claims, but there are quite a few soothing ingredients in this mask (i.e., allantoin, extracts of oat) as well as ingredients known to help with cell regeneration (i.e., ellagic acid, pea extract).
Adherence with this mask is great and fit is what I expect from most sheet masks and, with a few adjustments here and there, it fit my face shape and features better. I wore the mask for my usual half hour though there was plenty of essence still left that I probably could have left it on for another 15-20 minutes without it drying out. After my skin fully absorbed all the essence, my skin felt soft, smooth, and bouncy and my complexion looked hydrated and brightened. This is an oft repeated purchase for me and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. ❀️

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

What are your thoughts on the Tatcha body butter,,, that I didn't know existed?? Lol @itsfi

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster, I like the Tatcha body butter; it’s good for dryness. It’s rich but glides on easily and absorbs nicely. It has a clean-ish scent that I think smells nice, relaxing and uplifting; it doesn’t linger so it doesn’t compete with any perfume I might wear.  I thought I read that it’s being discontinued (boo!) though there are travel sizes still available direct from Tatcha - in a different color container. I have an old version.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Oh good to know! @itsfi

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  I think you made a perfect pair! And I love your picture!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Awww, thank you @ather! πŸ€— Very kind of you to say. After masking I realized that I forgot to use the Mahalo indigo balm as a lip balm. Oh well, next time. πŸ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  I was thinking indigo would be a hard color theme, but of course, you found the most perfect product to fit right in - not only is it indigo, but it even says it right on the front! πŸ˜‚

The Naruko mask sounds wonderful- love those results! This is another line of masks I'd like to eventually try. So happy it was a winner for you! πŸ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

The Naruko sounds very enjoyable, @itsfi. If I remember, Job’s Tears are an ingredient in another one of their masks that you tried πŸ€” I could be wrong, though-it’s just such an unusual ingredient that doesn’t seem to come up often. That Tatcha is such a special treat!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

It was probably the same Job’s Tears mask @eshoe

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

PSA: the fabulous @RGbrown posted on the Ulta thread (link below) that it now carries peach slices. 🀩 There’s currently only a handful of products online, including their Acne Spot Dots which I’ve found to be good, along with some wash off masks and a new snail mucin-based skincare line. 🐌 None of the brand’s sheet masks have appeared online (yet).

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Ooh, that's exciting! I hope they eventually start carrying the sheet masks too!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

It would be great if they did @Shosh85! 😍

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@itsfi  Just took a quick look, and I already want to buy all the snail products πŸ˜‚πŸŒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Little different for my masking tonight,

I think I got both of these in ulta gwp bags. Both, either way, are both New to me.

I put the zitsticka on first, leaving it on overnight. It's not the most "invisible" feeling patch I used but it's also on my chin area so I'll overlook that. The patch itself comes in a little plastic pod. πŸ€”directions were not that helpful, it told me to swatch clean the area first with the swab. 🀷there was no swab.  Will update tomorrow.

Patchology night eye gels are my answer for eye gels. πŸ˜‚I have them but never use them- I don't mask in the morning. They were a bit tricky to get on & I ripped 2 small spots on one side but after I got them on. Awwwwww a nice cooling effect. Not to mention, they pretty. Shimmery blue pearl. These would be so great under a lavender mask. I wasn't expecting anything great-i know, consistency, but my under eye does feel hydrated but too bad I still have bags!😁 Will have to try out a pack next order from Ulta.πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee  Interesting the zit one had no wipes!! I have the cosrx zit ones and I just peel and place on my skin.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

@sonnydee  The Patchology gels sound great! I'll be interested to see if more consistent use makes a difference for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

I checked today to see if they had any decent gwps @Shosh85 πŸ˜ƒ will have to add the travel pack for sure

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

Good to hear the Patchology worked out for you, @sonnydee! Their mood line ones are nice, too. How weird about the swab on the other one, thoughπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

🀷 @eshoe waking up. It didn't do much. I'll stick with my peace out or tcs patches. I think I may have some of the other pathology eye gels. Might have to check those out sooner than later @quspork

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

The patchology eye gels are some nice ones, @sonnydee! I'd love to do some more comparing of their different ones- perhaps a future order soon (if we ever get another 20% off coupon!!).

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge

N is for Neogen - pulled this from The Masks On The Move box πŸ˜ƒ

Neogen Dermalogy Super Hydra Aqua Capsule Mask

This is a two step mask. With the first step you are to snap the big capsule at the top of the packaging, releasing the ampoule onto the mask. You are then supposed to massage the package a little bit to ensure it's evenly distributed.

The second step is the mask. It is thin cotton and had a light scent that was like a mix of clean & fresh and floral. The fit was just ok - it was about 1.5 inches too long at the chin, not quite wide enough by the ears and the mouth hole was a bit too small. The adherence was great and it was comfortable to wear the half hour I had it on. There was some light tack that stuck around for about 15 minutes after removing the mask. My face felt soft, hydrated and moisturized and had a nice glow.

I really enjoyed this mask and would definitely repurchase. I feel like this one would especially be great for the winter/colder months.
