Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
Iโve never made pumpkin bread, @ShortErica - I bet itโs delicious! Zucchini bread is my favorite, but now Iโm curious. Time for something new!
@eshoe Pumpkin bread might be my favorite. I wouldn't pass on banana either but if I have to have a favorite. Growing up my mom would also make pumpkin pancakes in the fall.
@ShortErica Its pumpkin season. I can feel it in the air๐
I'm so jealous @tjffc. My husband said our low will be 70 next week.
Iโve never had those either, @ShortErica! I donโt eat pancakes often, but make them for my daughter. I have always made them with wheat flour, and a couple of weeks ago accidentally grabbed the white flour. She calls them โmutant pancakes.โ
@eshoe why do kids always have the best wording for things?! Too funny!
They have no preconceptions, @ShortErica. Itโs good and humbling at the same time๐
Great choices for rainbow week!! @ShortErica I never realized the shooting stars had glitter.. Interesting!
The package said something about shimmering pearl but I wasn't expecting glitter either @lmaster. If someone else uses it and it doesn't have glitter, I might question my sanity. ๐
I'm going to have to search and see if I have one on hand... TBC @ShortErica ๐
From P Week:
This is when I am so thankful for my skin journal! I've been using the re:p Bio Fresh Mask with Real Calming Herbs for awhile now, and find it to be a truly soothing mask. The consistency is a clay mask (thanks to the kaolin), but it doesn't really dry down. It starts to feel a bit tight, but that's it. It is suggested for sensitive skin/calming/redness, so I find myself reaching for it after derma planing. It has a soothing, soft herbal scent, with the chamomile really standing out. I like to have a couple of masks that I can use without putting much thought into my routine sometimes, and this one is a keeper.
The Premium Puresa Hydro Gel Mask was a treat from the lovely @heartsmyface (thank you so very much!). When I first started masking, I remember confusing biocellulose with hydrogel. Once I realized how different they are, I knew to prepare myself for the jellyfish...was that @sonnydee's observation, I believe? So accurate ๐ This one had a fresh, clean scent, and was sandwiched in between two protective layers. Like most hydro gel masks, it was split into two parts. I love that, and I wish more cotton masks were available in a similar format! I left the bottom on around 15 minutes, and the top about 25. Many hydro gels cause minor itching, though this one did not. My skin was a little plumped, and after completing my nighttime skincare, the remaining tack had dissipated. Another win for the slippery ones!
@eshoe Nice masks. Loving the feedback from the calming herb mask
Itโs a good standby, @tjffc. And a huge jar! This is a good one to have on hand for rough skin days:)
I've really enjoyed all the pacifica foam masks @eshoe happy to see you enjoyed it too ๐
All of them, @lmaster? I didnโt know there were more! Thanks for the heads up๐
Yum guess thatโs on my list now @lmaster ๐๐๐ผ
The hydro gel mask sounds like a nice one @eshoe; the 2-piece ones usually are. Glad to hear this worked out for you.
It really was enjoyable, @itsfi! So many hydro gels have a little something that can sidetrack the process..whether itchiness, or falling off altogether. This did neither:)
Itchiness @eshoe? I wonder if thereโs something in the hydrogel material itself that your skin is not fond of? Hmmm... ๐ค
