Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I must have been posting/editing while you were typing @itsfi 👽😁

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Just saw the pic of the mask - that looks cute and fun @sonnydee! 👽

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

T is for thirst-quenching and throwback
Urban City Azulene Aquaring Mask.jpeg
Sheet Mask:
Spoiler
Urban City Azulene Aquaring Mask is an ultra-thin, soft, cotton sheet mask saturated in a fresh, clean, lightly floral scented, clear, watery essence that imparts a shot of hydration to the skin. Like most sheet masks, this one runs a bit long at the chin for me and needs some minor adjustments at the eye and mouth holes, but adheres nicely. The mask feels cooling and refreshing against my skin and, after about 30 minutes of wear, there's just the slightest bit of essence remaining on my face, which feels soft, smooth and hydrated, and looks refreshed and awakened. 💖 My recollection is that I first tried this mask a few years ago(?) - I liked it then and I like it now. 😍 It's a throwback mask for me and one I consider an oldie but goodie. Also, how cute is this packaging? I'm digging the retro glam vibe from the graphic! The mask is a winner inside and out, and one worth looking into by those in need of some hydration.

Ingredients: from facetory (dot) com
Spoiler
Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Phragmites Communis Extract, Glycerin, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Allantoin Ethylhexylglycerin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Azulene (10ppm), Disodium EDTA, Fragrance
Lip Scrub & Balm:
Spoiler
KNC Beauty SupaScrub comes in a set that includes the lip shaped scrubbing tool/brush for some extra exfoliation. The SupaScrub itself provides enough exfoliation on its own, but the inclusion of the tool gives the scrub, which has a slightly minty taste to me, an extra oomph. It's a nice add-on, but I found that my lips were sufficiently exfoliated with just the scrub itself, which doesn't feel super gritty or emollient coming out of the tube, but when worked onto the lips, the brown sugar crystals that make up the lip scrub do a nice job of sloughing away any dryness while the shea butter and moringa oil help to keep the lips from feeling dry.

I followed the scrub with the KNC Beauty SupaBalm in the rose version (there's also a mint version). The balm is on the thicker side and the scent has a real roses smell - it's a light but detectable scent and I only really pick it up early on as I apply the balm to my lips; the scent dissipates quickly after being applied. It's moisturizing without feeling sticky, and the balm stays on the lips for a decent amount of time. I use lip balms constantly throughout the day, which is a good thing as I have a healthy supply of lip balms. 😉 I'd categorize this one as a nice lip balm to have, but it's not necessarily a must have lip balm.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I'm digging the vibe on all of these products @itsfi !  And always room for a hydrating mask!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

This was a good masking session all around @missjeanie! I would be happy to repeat. 😍

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

That is too cute!! Love the retro glam reference! @itsfi

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@lmaster, if I had anywhere to go, I might be inspired to try to recreate the retro glam look on the packaging. As it is, I think the look might be lost on many of the people in my zoom meetings today and tomorrow. Ha!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

The mask packaging is so cute @itsfi . I really like the lip scrubber. It's adorable.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

The scrubber is super cute @emaisgr8. 💖 I find that I can get a good scrub without it so it’ll probably just be a decorative piece on my desk. I’m okay with that. 😉

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@itsfi  Definitely an oldie but goodie! I think the first one I tried was from you! Love the packaging too - makes me want to put on some red lipstick and sunglasses! 💄🕶

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

You would look fab in red lipstick 💄 and sunglasses 🕶 @Shosh85! I definitely like the vibe on the packaging! Very fun. Have you tried the toning version of this line? The background on that one is pink instead of blue, if I’m remembering right.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@itsfi  No, I haven't tried the Tone Up one yet, but it's been on my list for awhile now! 😃

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I love that packaging, @itsfi = very old Hollywood glam.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Yes @quspork😀 It's what drew me to the mask in the first place. 😍 I see that they have other skincare products as well, which makes sense. I may have to take a quick peek another day, maybe another day after I've used up a bit more of my stash. 🤣

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Gaahhhhh!  It's G&T week!  Now I know I need to plan out a mask!  I've done a few masks the last week or two, but just haven't gotten to posting.  Today I remembered to snap a pic and the masks were more memorable. My skin has been feeling dry the last few weeks and it's been showing after I apply my base products.  I don't really go out anywhere other than to my part time job and to see my nieces.  My nieces think anything with high amounts of glitter makes you extra pretty and couldn't care less about my skin, but I figured since I had to go into work today I wanted to look a little more moisturized (I swear my laugh lines around my eyes, which don't normally bother me have gotten worse the last few months... how do they know I turn 40?).

Spoiler
I popped open the Kiehl's Calendula & Aloe Soothing and Hydration Masque last week and finished it off this morning before my shower.  I always had this view of Kiehl's being this super cool brand that wasn't easily attainable but was somehow for the cool girls when I was in my teens/twenties.  Truth be told, having tried more of their products in my 30's... it's been kinda meh.  Does anyone have a standout product they love? Are my expectations just too high based on my memories of my 20 year old selfs desire to be a cool New York chick? This mask had a lovely scent to it, it didn't sting my dry skin (I usually only feel stinging when I'm extra dry in the winter).  It went on nicely and I kept it on while getting my shower iced coffee ready and the scent dissipated as it sat on my face.  It came off easily in the shower and while my skin did feel a bit better afterwards I'm not sure based on the daily use of this for a week that it had much effect.  I'm not mad at the mask by any means, and I'm glad to have tried it, but it's not likely to be a repurchase and I'm glad I had the smaller set sized pot.  I really should have all masks in this size before committing to a full size.  Could this have been better if my skin wasn't so dry right now? Maybe.  Would I suggest it to someone with normal skin just looking to have a relaxing mask experience.. I wouldn't dissuade them, but I'm sure there are a million other masks out there that are equally fun.
The When mask... now this was a beauty this morning.  I'm a fan of the light citrus scent as a relaxation piece (but I'm still torn knowing I shouldn't like fragrance in my skincare).  I'm a big fan of the bio cellulose.  I'm a big fan of how the mask sat on my skin like a second skin needing no adjustments. I'm a fan of how my skin enjoyed the serum on the mask, it felt more refreshed and looked much healthier after this mask.  I spent the morning before work perusing BIC and making a few purchases here and there online and I had to stop myself from buying more of these.  I have to use up more of what I have before I buy more sheet masks lol!  Birthday spending spree came pretty close to including more When masks though.  I'm always impressed with these, and once I do get my collection down a bit I'll be adding some without hesitation.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Eh, birthday splurging is totally a good decision @missjeanie. I will say I've found the Kiehl's Since 1851 Rare Earth Deep Pore Minimizing Cleansing Clay Mask 4.2 oz/ 125 mL to be one of the more effective wash off pore masks I've tried. Don't remember if I've tried other products but if so, they didn't make an impression.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@ShortErica  Oh, thank for reminding me about this one! I've a few heard others say they liked this one too! 👍😃 @missjeanie

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Shosh85 @ShortErica I actually checked last night and I do have a mini of this one as well.  Hopefully it's my hidden Kiehl's jam!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

You'll have to let us know after you've tried it @missjeanie 🤞

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Will do @ShortErica .  I have two or three wash offs I'm trying to finish up before the end of August, so I might get to fit it in once I check on my progress.... too many open products that have spilled from my cabinet onto my washroom sink.... ughhhh but I want to try everything all the time lol

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@missjeanie my stuff is hidden under the sink so I'm not as enticed to open it all. I feel like I try to limit myself to 2 like skincare products open at once. Sometimes it does make it not as fun though and I need to lighten up a bit. Another reason I'm not having too many open is so I can get through some samples. They pile up so fast! You'll get to it and I hope you like it.
