Welcome โ๏ธ๐ February, and the second month of the 2021 challenge!
Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐ Post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcome.
This Weekโs Theme: Snubbed It! Masks you donโt want to use & are continually passed over. Thank you @ShortErica for a theme that is sure to help clear out the mask bin;)

Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:
To Post:
Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.
Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.
Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

U is for Ultru
Ultru I'm Sorry For My Skin pH5.5 Brightening Jelly Mask
This is a thin cotton sheet mask that was LOADED with super thick and slimy jelly serum. There was enough extra serum left in the pouch for my neck, chest, arms and legs. It had a mild citrus scent - lemon and orange is what stood out the most to me - and it wasn't as noticeable when the mask was on. The fit was good- just a smidge too wide by the temples and little too long at the chin. It adhered well and was comfortable to wear the 45 minutes I had it on. When I removed it my face felt great and so refreshed. There was some light tackiness that literally lasted an hour and a half! I actually don't mind tack at all and wouldn't even notice it unless I touched my face, which something I try not to do in general- but I do touch it after I mask (with clean hands) for the sake of detailed notes. ๐My skin looked slightly brighter, and had a nice glow and the moisture and hydration from it was long lasting!
I loved this one and would absolutely repurchase, especially if spotted at TJ Maxx again!
Ingredients:
@Shosh85 @Oooh this looks interesting! I love ph oriented masks - this sounds great!
@Kim888 It really was great! This is only the second pH mask I've used, but I've loved them both! ๐
Havenโt heard of a bad pH5.5 mask yet, @Shosh85! This sounds especially inviting, given the extra serum๐
@eshoe I loved the thick jellly serum! The only other pH5 mask I tried was the Heimish one and loved that one, so, so far so good! Would definitely love to try out more pH5.5 masks!
How would you compare it to the Brightening Yadah Jelly @Shosh85? Do you repurchase both at TJ Maxx or prefer one or the other?
@ShortErica It would be easier to compare them if I did them closer together, but from what I remember and according to my notes, it looks like I like this Ultru one better - it has thicker jelly serum, a wee bit better scent and was better at moisturizing and hydrating. So, I actually probably wouldn't repurchase the Yadah, now that I've discovered this one!
That's good to know - means I gotta check these out at some point @Shosh85. I think the Yadah jelly have been my favorite jelly mask so far.
@Shosh85 slight tackiness is ok good thing it wasn't sticky ๐
@lmaster Yup, the tackiness was light, it just lasted forever.... I think it'd make a great morning/primer mask ๐๐
@sonnydee Yeah, I found a bunch of different ones at Marshall's right before all this COVID stuff happened. I still haven't been back to TJ Maxx/Marshall's since then, so I'm hoping to find some more too! ๐
Oooh ๐ This one sounds amazing @Shosh85. Iโve used a brightening one from the line but not a brightening with pH 5.5. Love the disco ball on the packaging, too. This one is definitely going on my list. โฅ๏ธ
@itsfi It was so good! It makes me optimistic about the others I have from the line! The disco ball is the reason I chose to try this one out first ๐๐
The disco ball would have made me pick it up, too @Shosh85. ๐
"F" as is I've been looking forward to try these two for awhile now. Sometimes, the wait is better than the catch ๐
Sorry about the huge granules. That must be so scary worrying about damaging your skin. Has it been okay since you used the mask or have you noticed anything wrong @eshoe?
My skin has been ok, @ShortErica - but Iโm looking into the long term - a month from now, are my cheeks going to be cracking? Iโve realized there is a wide open market for solid hydrating masks. Detox/purifying/exfoliating ones are plentiful, and maybe thatโs just where the market is๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@eshoe The only one I can think of is the Origins Mini Drink Upโข Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask with Avocado & Swiss Glacier Water 1 oz/ 3... because @faeriegirl sent it to me in unicorn mail! I need to try it. I tend to always focus on sheet masks but loved incorporating a weekly wash off pore mask on Mondays so I don't know why I always hesitate. Have you tried it?
I use that one @ShortErica @and love it. Very similar to the Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask with Vitamin C 2 oz/ 59 mL actually! In scent and consistency, the only difference in my experience is the hue and form of application (Origins tube vs YTTP jar).
@eshoe I love that melon mask- it is so refreshing! The other "flavors" from the line are just as good! ๐
