Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐Ÿ’— Post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcome.

This Weekโ€™s Theme: Masks that Make You Hungry ๐Ÿ˜‹Is it the scent..or the packaging? Which masks make you crave a yummy treat? It is no surprise that this weekโ€™s delicious theme is brought to you by none other than @itsfi! ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿต

Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Thank you @tjffc! It's truly a rarity that I like sheet masks that you are supposed to wash off, but this is one of them. The results from this mask are great! ๐Ÿ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Tonightโ€™s masking, โ€œVโ€ for Vargas and Venofye:

First, the Kosas Kosasport LipFuel Hyaluronic Lip Balm Pulse is minty and long-lasting for a balm. Plus I use it outside to protect my lips in that hot summer sun. Great balm and another likely repurchase.

The Joanna Vargas Exfoliating Mask is new to me and these are my first impressions.

Scent: yummy! Was not expecting that. On board. There is a deliciously subtle fruity-citrus scent to this.

Texture: scrubbies are a bit harsh, albeit teensy-tiny. I had to apply this fairly thin clay-like mask carefully, so as to not rough up my skin too much.

Appearance: looks like the untaggable Kiehlโ€™s Cranberry & Turmeric mask.

There is a golden sheen to it, which is very pretty. Rinsing was easy, I used a muslin cloth. The granules are rather rough, so I was very careful when removing them. My skin, especially the forehead area, looked brightened after using.

The Venofye Royal Honey Sheet Mask was a mask I looked forward to trying because it was from trusted mask aficionado @Shosh85 and also because of its crazy $$$ price tag. I am always curious if the amount paid reflects value received.

So first thoughts. The scent-I was not expecting heavy honey based on Shosh85โ€™s reviews, and true to her word_there was little to be noticed. Once it was on my face, I seemed to sense a bit of honey, but there wasnโ€™t enough there for me to say.

This is a medium weight sheet mask. The unfolding was extraordinarily frustration-free. The fit- perfect. Really, the best cotton mask fit Iโ€™ve tried. I left it on for nearly 30 minutes before it became noticeably dry under my nose. There was a tiny bit of serum for reapplying, which I used. My skin was just the slightest bit tacky, and appeared brighter after using-I donโ€™t think that was the goal, but it happened and I will take it ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe like @emaisgr8 I had no idea about the crazy price tag! Or maybe I did but forgot. Thanks for that reminder. I enjoyed the mask too but there's no way I'm buying it with that price tag. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

An absolute treat to try, @ShortErica - but not necessarily to buy๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  I really liked the Venofye mask also.  I didn't realized the crazy price on it.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@emaisgr8 I never would have tried it, if not for @Shosh85โ€˜s generosity! How fun, and it also makes me realize that most masks really should be in the $1-5 range. $50 is absurd๐Ÿ˜‚

WOW just looked Venofye masks up. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿค‘ 1 mask better fix everything wrong with my face immediately & for a month for it to be worth it. @eshoe

Re: WOW just looked Venofye masks up. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿค‘ 1 mask better fi...

I agree 1000%, @sonnydee ๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€ƒitโ€™s absurd.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

How much is a hefty price tag @eshoe just curious why it would be so expensive?

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I think @Shosh85 found them to be $50 for a single sheet, @lmaster ๐Ÿ˜ณ I...I just donโ€™t know. Thatโ€™s about $45 more than I want to pay for a mask๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe wow!!! That's is crazy expensive

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

This sounds like a nice masking combo, @eshoe. I'm intrigued by the Joanna Vargas even if the granules did seem a little harsh.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Itโ€™s such a different texture than I am used to, itโ€™s pretty runny @quspork. Bonus is that it should last me awhile that way!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I'm happy to hear the Venofye mask worked out nicely for you! It's not one I'd pay $50 for, (let's be real, there's not any sheet mask I'd pay that much for ๐Ÿ˜ณ) but I did enjoy it! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Iโ€™m with you on that, @Shosh85 - I start to question rationale around $5๐Ÿ˜‚ It was so fun to try though, many thanks๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I multimask almost everyday, so just thought I'd share my normal Wednesday routine.

I start with an intense exfoliation or peel. Right now I'm using Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask 5 oz/ 148 mL right now.

Whenever I sniff this in the jar, I'm like, "Yay, pumpkin pie." But when its on the face its a little too sickeningly sweet. It easily applies, especially with a brush.
I like that it isn't as intense as other sort of peel masks, I can leave on closer to the 7 min max recommended wear time. It only stings a little bit when I put it on (and usually only around the nostrils) and this goes away quickly.
It definitely helps smooth my skin, but isn't my favorite of these types of masks. Would use again if I got in a set though.

I follow up with a hydrating mask. I'm close to empty on the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask 5 oz/ 150 mL

I am SO glad to be close to empty on this. It is not a good mask, IMO. First of all, it stings too (especially around the nostrils). It is almost greasy. It does hydrate a bit, but not as much as I'd like. One more use and it is done!

After the rest of my skincare routine, I end the night with a sleeping mask and lip mask. Right now I'm using the Origins Mini Drink Upโ„ข Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask with Avocado & Swiss Glacier Water 1 oz/ 3... and the old formula bite beauty lip mask.

This is one of my favourite sleeping masks. It smells so lovely and tropical. I like how it is creamy but liteweight, so on my normal to dry skin, it sinks in a little but isn't too greasy. Its great for the warmer months but isn't quite enough for the winter.

We all know the old school agave lip mask is amazing. I haven't had a chance to get the reformulation.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@haleyvvvv I love that ptr detox mask ๐Ÿ’—

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I can see why its a lot of people's fave, @lmaster!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@haleyvvvv  Looks like a nice routine! ๐Ÿ‘ The Origins and PTR Pumpkin masks are a couple of my favorites! The Origins wasn't quite enough for me during the colder months either, which is why I use the Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask with Vitamin C 2 oz/ 59 mL more in the winter.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Thank you, @Shosh85!! I'm more of a Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask 2.25 oz/ 64 g gal myself in the winter. I tried a DS of the YTTP and wanted it to do more for my skin, unfortunately. I do have another DS, so I'll give it one more try in the next months.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@haleyvvvv  The pumpkin PTR is too sweet smelling for me too.
