Mask of the Week Misc. Info & Previous Year's Links:

To Post:

Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas.

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@WinglessOne both my daughter I drank up your review ๐Ÿงœ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ I saw this on one of your hauls and was curious; happy to see it here! Yes-an Ultramarine or even a plain olโ€™ navy sheet would make this particularly interesting. With some silver, , lots of potential!

Besides all of the frivolity, sounds like a decent mask. I am curious about your risk-happy methodology of buying multipacks of never-tried-before masks, though. I had one too many mehs and now stick to one-offs for the most part๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€

At any rate, thank you for all of the in-depth details. Helps me plan out my future mask purchases!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  I originally wanted to buy just 1 or 2 of each mask in this line. I like to buy new-to-me masks 2 at a time so I can test them twice. (Weather/temperature and skin condition changes can affect my results, especially with certain types of masks.) And with Shangpree, you really need to make sure you're not buying counterfeits. Peach & Lily carries Shangpree single masks, but this variety was out of stock at the time. Jolse carries them by the box, and they're cheaper per mask that way (5 to a box) except that, well, you're buying 5 instead of just 1. My inner raven said "eh, if you're gonna buy a box of this one, might as well buy the other 2 varieties by the pretty box as well!" ๐Ÿ˜„

Sometimes I buy boxes instead of singles so I'll have a few extras to gift to other folks. In fact, whenever I buy a box of masks I've never used before, I figure I can give the rest away if they don't work well for me. (I've gifted many The Creme Shop masks after buying boxes of them at TJ Maxx or Marshalls.) Hopefully my ingredients-driven approach to mask buying reduces the number of dud boxes I end up with, but even then, sometimes a mask with good ingredients and no bad stuff ends up performing under par for me. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I like your 2 masks approach @WinglessOne. Sometimes when I use a mask I get the "why did I love this before?" or "why was I so critical before?" feelings and disconnect. So many things can impact a masking experience. Now I'll always be buying in pairs when I get to mask buy again. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Itโ€™s good to hear about Jolse @WinglessOne; Iโ€™ve never ordered from them but see them pop up elsewhere with positive reviews. I like to try new sites once in a blue moon, though I tend to space those purchases out.

We were just talking about Jeniโ€™s today, I think two months is too long to go without good ice cream๐Ÿ˜

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe  There's never a bad time to buy more Jeni's! Enjoy your next batch of delicious ice cream!

I've yet to have a problem with a Jolse order. Their free trackable shipping minimum is $40 USD. And they always add freebies to orders. (My last order contained the most freebies I've ever gotten from them.) They're a good retailer to consider. ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Thank you for the feedback on Jolse, I think I will take a peek next time I need to make a mask order. Freebies are fun, especially when you donโ€™t know what they are, and even if you are receiving them!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@WinglessOne, the masks from this line are beautiful - packaging and results-wise! I really enjoy a lot of the Shangpree skincare products as well. It's great that this one scored so high for you! ๐Ÿ˜ I'll be interested to know which of the 3 masks in this series you like best. Staying tuned...

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Very interesting info on salmon @WinglessOne gorgeous packaging!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@WinglessOne  I love your review and the packaging on this is so pretty.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@WinglessOne  Ooooh, I love the packaging ๐Ÿ˜ This mask sounds wonderful! - yet another line I need to try out! I've tried a couple masks with salmon sp3rm and really enjoyed them!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I'm not on theme with this one, but here's the Dewytree Quince Mask!

Marketed as a single-ingredient mask that helps with balancing oil and "cultivates clear skin," this ended up being a lovely mask that I wouldn't hesitate to use again. It had a watery serum and a comfortable sheet made of a blend of eucalyptus, cotton, and seaweed. It had a light fruit scent and stayed moist for a good 20 minutes. I'm not sure if it really helped balance my oil, but skin did feel nicely hydrated after removal of the sheet.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Hydrating is always nice. I wonder if over time it would help more with oil @quspork ๐Ÿคท

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

That's definitely a possibility, @ShortErica. Unfortunately for me, I am far too fickle with masks to use just one for an extended period of time so those long term effects are lost on my skin, haha! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

There are some 10 pack boxes I want to try it with, just to use them up but I agree with you @quspork - better and more fun to use a variety.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

A light fruit scent sounds wonderful! @quspork

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Very refreshing, @lmaster!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@quspork  Good to see someone review one of these Dewytree 100 mask varieties. I've considered trying the cica mask from this line. Glad the quince variety works for you!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I think the Cica one would be right up your alley, @WinglessOne - no extraneous ingredients, just pure Centella Asiatica extract.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@quspork Dewytree makes some nice masks, and it sounds like this was no exception! Glad you enjoyed it! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

They do have some nice ones, @Shosh85. I have the birch from this line to try too- so excited to see how it works out.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

This mask sounds wonderful @quspork! ๐Ÿคฉ Iโ€™ve been impressed with Dewytree sheet masks. Making a note about this one ... for when my mask count is less than triple digits. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคช

You are very much on theme! V is for vitamin C. Quince is a good source of vitamin C! โ˜บ๏ธ
