Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

E is for Etude House and V is for viola mandshurica flower extract (violet extract)
Sparkly!!Sparkly!!
Etude House Jewel Beam Gel Mask Twinkling Diamond is a clear, thin, 2-piece hydrogel mask with a gauze-like pattern and scattered sparkles throughout. It's infused with a very soft, citrus-floral scented essence-serum that absorbs quickly and easily into the skin. There's extra in the packet to layer beneath or atop the hydrogel or for use on other parts of the body. This is one of the best designed hydrogel masks I've used in terms of fit and adherence. ๐Ÿ‘ This mask claims to hydrate and moisturize the skin and my skin did feel nourished afterwards, with a bounce and fresh-faced look to it. A very lovely mask that I would happily use again. ๐Ÿ˜€ More details in the spoiler. I wasn't able to find the inci list online, so I typed it out - I think I got the spelling right; my spell check sure didn't think so. ๐Ÿคฃ

Spoiler
Fit, Wear & Feel
I was surprised that the mask was clear; I was expecting it to be silver. It's a very pretty looking mask and fits beautifully - it's not so thin and delicate that it tears easily, nor is it thick and stiff to make adherence a problem. This really could be a prototype for hydrogel masks. The sparkles do not transfer onto your skin. It's a bit large width-wise for my face, but that's pretty standard for most sheet mask. What is not typical, and I was pleasantly surprised by this - I did not have to make any incisions to the eye or mouth holes. Interestingly, the instructions recommend 20-40 minutes of wear time, which is longer than most masks call for. I can see that this mask might be worn for a longer duration. It feels quite soft, melds nicely to the skin and wears comfortably.  I was able to walk around the house and do a host of things without any concern for it slipping or falling off.

Claims, Notable Ingredients & Results
The mask claims to be hydrating and moisturizing and touts diamond powder, hyaluronic acid and ceramide as its notable ingredients. All of that sounds wonderful to me. Sadly, those notable ingredients appear near the bottom of the ingredients list, after added fragrance, no less. Even so, this is a very nice mask, both in terms of its aesthetics and its functionality. There's the slightest tack to the skin that wears off as all the essence is absorbed. My skin felt nourished and plump after removing the mask. Those with very oily skin might be able to get by with skipping moisturizer after this one, but for my dehydrated-combo skin, I needed at least a light moisturizer or sleeping mask.

Etc.
There are 3 other masks in this line; I have 2 of the other ones and may track down the fourth at some point. This is a nice mask; not one that I'd consider a "must have", but it's definitely one that I would be happy to use and even one I'd consider repurchasing if I happened upon it in a store again.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@itsfi You had me at sparkles!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Right, @missjeanie?!!! If it said on the packaging that thereโ€™s sparkles in the mask I would have grabbed more, though maybe I should have known since itโ€™s called โ€œtwinklingโ€ diamond! ๐Ÿ˜ I donโ€™t think the other versions (ie pearl, gold and ruby) have sparkles.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Oooh, I love hydrogel masks, I'll definitely have to check this out. Thank you for the insight, @itsfi!!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@haleyvvvv, this mask reminded me why I like hydrogel masks!! ๐Ÿ’• I liked that there was extra serum in the packet! It also didnโ€™t hurt that the mask was sparkly. Hahaha! ๐Ÿ˜†

such a pretty mask @itsfi๐Ÿ’–

such a pretty sounding mask @itsfi๐Ÿ’–

Re: such a pretty mask @itsfi๐Ÿ’–

@sonnydee, Iโ€™m trying to decide what mask to use at this very moment and Iโ€™m wishing for the sparkles from this hydrogel mask. ๐Ÿ˜† It was a fun mask with good results. ๐Ÿ’•

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

This sounds like a beautiful mask, @itsfi. A well-fitting hydrogel makes all the difference, and the serum sounds very pleasant. Etude House makes some nice ones!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@eshoe, I usually like the sound of a hydrogel mask, but there's always a bit of a hesitation for me - will it be a slippery little sucker where I have to make sure it doesn't slip right out of my hands onto the floor? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ Or will it be one of those thicker stiff ones that won't conform to the contours of my face? ๐Ÿ˜  So happy that was not the case with this one! ๐Ÿ˜

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

I hear ya, @itsfi ๐Ÿ˜† It can be such a gamble! It would be fun to know everyoneโ€™s favorite hydrogel, because there are so many that lean way too far to one direction or the other๐Ÿค”

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@itsfi  The packaging is so pretty! I would've assumed this would be silver too! The order of ingredients isn't ideal, but it sounds like it turned out great! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Shosh85, I'm pretty sure the packaging drew me to this one. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I picked it up in a local boutique a while back and it's probably safe to say that the sparkle sucked me in! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Diamonds are a girl's best friend right @itsfi sounds like it fit the saying pretty well

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Yes they are @lmaster๐Ÿ˜ Bring on the diamonds!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@itsfi ohhh that sounds amazing! and so pretty as well!

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

@Kim888, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. ๐Ÿ˜€ Looking forward to seeing how the others in this line work out.

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

E is for Egg, Energy and Erno

Spoiler
Using one of my price-y favorites: the Erno Firm and Lift mask. This is such a great feeling mask for summer. It's super cooling and feels amazing on my skin. For anyone who hasn't tried it, it's one of those masks that sort of turns rubbery and then peels off. I'm always amazed how much product you get - there's totally enough for not just my whole face but also my neck. I'm not sure how much true lifting it does, but my skin always looks super plumped and refreshed after using it.

I also used one of my other favorites, the too cool for school Egg mask - this is just a great hydrating mask that I always reach for when I don't feel like taking risks. I also tried  out the YTTP mask again. I'm still pretty torn on this - my skin does look brightened after using it, but it's really a rather harsh exfoliant which I prefer to not use on my skin

Re: 2020 Mask of the Week Challenge - PART II

Love these masking sessions @Kim888 !  I enjoy the TCFS egg mask and the EL.  In fact I think I should use one of the EL this week.  Great idea!
