Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks💗
@eshoe Yeah, grapefruit extract might stop me from trying this one. The rest of the ingredients list looks mostly okay, though. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Also: the sleeve design reminded me of James and the Giant Peach too. 😄
@WinglessOne Omg your so right!! Totally reminds me of that book too!!!
How am I not the only one who has watched that movie, @WinglessOne? Guess I need to see if it’s on Netflix or something similar this weekend.
The fit was a little wonky, but worth the scent, I guess as long as it’s enjoyable it’s worth the minor annoyances.
I’m not sure, @Shosh85 - I found it spelled differently than on the package, and it showed up as a type of summer radish?
I tempted to try it only because this one has a true pear scent, and now I want to know what yulmoo is like!
@eshoe Oh, yup, I found it now. 😉 Looks like it's either Yulmoo or Yeolmu.
ETA: Apparently there's also a Yulmu Tea, but it seems it's something different entirely, made from Job's Tears
Oh no I want to try the tea, thank you @Shosh85 😊
The packaging reminds me of James and the giant peach @eshoe
@lmaster @Shosh85 @eshoe, James and the Giant Peach brings a smile to my face. 🙂 It also reminds me of a cupcake shop that played off the name of that film.
The illustration on the packaging looks like an apple pear / Asian pear, which is refreshingly delicious! The juice of the fruit, or making a puree of it, is commonly found in marinades for Korean barbeque.
@itsfi That sounds like a fun Cupcake shop! In what way did they play off the movie title?
I was looking at the illustration and thinking to myself, but where's the pear? haha, your right, it looks more like an Asian pear. 👍 I LOVE Korean BBQ! I didn't know Asian pear juice was commonly used in marinades for it, but then again I haven't attempted to make it yet. 😉
@Shosh85, the shop was called James and the Giant Cupcake! 🧁 I have a vague recollection that their branding was similar to a part from the film but instead of a peach it was a cupcake. At least that’s what I somewhat remember. In full disclosure, I was paying more attention to the cupcakes. Hahaha! 😂
Korean BBQ is so yummy! 😋 I didn’t know about Asian pear being part of the marinade recipe either until a friend made it for us from a family recipe and I was like “what is this goodness?!!” 😍
I think anything reminiscent of a cupcake shop would be a good thing, @itsfi 🧁
So that’s the secret to good Korean bbq? I’ve made it a couple of times but had no idea about the purée, thank you for the tip! I will have to see if I can find that online, because it seems I can’t stop cooking/baking these days😊
I think there are a lot of secrets @eshoe, including that it does take a looooong time to marinate. That was just one of the ones I learned. No success in getting the family recipe. I get it. But it was sure tasty! 😋
Ha, I know the feeling @itsfi. My sister bakes chocolate cookies that are perfectly crispy on the outside and just a little gooey in the middle. She swears a little extra flour is her secret, but it never works for me. I secretly think she’s holding back, maybe some day I will learn the truth 🤔
I had to look that up, @lmaster - you are absolutely right😂
@eshoe oh yes James and the giant peach is a classic for school kids
No, but now I want to watch it, @Shosh85! Also sounds like it might be good summer reading for her. I will check it out 🙂
@eshoe I really love Roald Dahl books! ❤️
I did not know he was the author, @Shosh85. I loved the Fantastic Mr. Fox!
Sensory experiences are so important, though, @eshoe. Overly fragrant, ill fit, etc can totally ruin a mask.
