Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Spoiler

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Additional Info:

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options

There are 2 ways to edit a response:

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!

RE: Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Was looking at the TCFS egg masks the other day and was curious about it. Thanks for your review on this mask because now I want to try an egg mask. Glad it worked for you @lmaster

Re: RE: Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Glad I could help you decide @GalPalVal17 I really enjoyed this one

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Tried out the GLAMGLOW - THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatmentlast night as an overnight mask. After cleansing, my face felt tight and dry which it has been feeling lately so I've laid off the clay masks and am trying more hydrating ones right now. The scent of this mask was heavenly. Woke up, cleansed and my face definitely felt hydrated. I only got a sample from Sephora, so after I try it a few times I will decide if I want to get the full size. And of course used my nightly LANEIGE - Kiss and Make Up Setlip mask. I love this little mask and glad I got this variety set because I like the different flavors.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Two of my absolute favorites!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

This is the perfect combination for dry skin and lips @GalPalVal17 ! The GlamGlow Thirstymud mask smells divine and so do the LaNeige minis!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks for sharing @GalPalVal17. My skin has been very dry lately and I have been looking for a new mask so I will try the Thirstymud. I love the Laneige lip mask too. Very hydrating.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@GalPalVal17 Such a great combo!!

My skin has always been pretty dry and that ThirstyMud has been great to get sime moisture back! I agree, the scent really is wonderful! 🥥🏝

I just bought that Laneige Lip Set too and so far really enjoy it!!

So happy to hear you had success with these! 👍🤗

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@GalPalVal17 that sounds like a very soothing way so end the day 😊 have you tried all of the scents yet in the Laneige set?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe I have tried the berry, vanilla, and the apple lime (which i'm using right now) and I'd say I like the vanilla a lot. It's much more subtle than the others but I think I have a thing for vanilla scents.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@GalPalVal17, I love this masking combination. <3 A winner all the way!

@GalPalVal17 it does smell heavenly right!!?? I just trie...

@GalPalVal17 it does smell heavenly right!!?? I just tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago and loved it

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Wrapping up today:

AM5460868D-5A01-48FF-A9D2-DC8314172362.jpegTatcha, Lapcos, & Neogen

Spoiler
The NEOGEN DERMALOGY - Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling - Green Tea is not unloved but had to sit on the sidelines for a bit. I absolutely love it, a masking addition @itsfi recommended a few months ago. I set it aside once I stopped exfoliating, but now that I’m more careful about the types/frequency of it in my routine, I am happily adding this one back in. The scent is very similar to Bvlgari Thé Vert and the double-sided gauze/soft cotton pads with finger pockets are so easy to use. Love, 💗 love!

The Lapcos Skin First Oil Wrap Mask 8 Flower Nectar was another blind buy, though I guessed from the brand it would be good. It was, but it was also quite different than I expected. It’s a two part, somewhat rigid (compared to bio cellulose or very thin cotton masks) mask with a very noticeable and lingering ‘hippie’ scent. It reminded me instantly of Origin’s Hello Calm, and sure enough, bergamot and lavender were listed not far from the top. Personally, I love this blend but those who are sensitive to EO’s or lavender and bergamot should steer clear of this one! I opted to go makeup free today as my skin is recovering from the post-Glow Recipe breakout. Even though I applied moisturizer over it once it dried down, I enjoyed the lingering scent from the mask which lasted well into the evening. I would repurchase this for a night when I needed a mask to help me sleep, as I think the scent would be pleasantly soothing and the fit was one of the best for my entire face, which made it extraordinarily comfortable.

Plenty of garden oils!

PM48B8AF0A-416F-4C52-8E23-E7A4D83249D3.jpegThe Oozoo, Laneige, & Ren

Spoiler
The REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask has also been patiently waiting in the wings, a gift from the lovely @mishanyc. I would use this more as well, but I believe it is also an exfoliating type mask. I left it on close to 25 minutes rather than the recommended 10, leaving my skin quite soft. I would repurchase, but I have quite a few products of this type to last awhile. The LANEIGE - Kiss and Make Up Set Lime Mint lip mask is so refreshing; I wouldn’t be able to pick my favorite out of these masks, they are all stellar. The Oozoo mask has been sitting in my drawer for quite some time. I love just about every mask this brand makes, but this has a couple (or more) mediocre reviews here so I guess I was afraid it would shatter my view of the Oozoo (coincidently, owned by Neogen).

I am terrified of spiders, and when I removed this scentless mask from the package, was a little freaked out by the stringy-ness of the serum. It needed some snipping around the eyes, a first as these masks are usually so precise in their fit. Once I did, I set my timer for 25 minutes and removed promptly as I was still weirded out by the long strands that formed when I reapplied extra serum or just touched the chin area that was soaked in it.

Once I took it off, I was shocked to find no tackiness after maybe 5 minutes, a trait I have found common in the Oozoo masks. All in all, I would totally repurchase this mask, BUT. Alcohol is fourth down on the list of ingredients 🤦🏻‍♀️😬😑🙄 ugh. I read it before I used it, didn’t detect a scent at all, and used it anyway. Thankfully, the Rose capsule, my favorite from this brand, doesn’t. So that’s the one I’m sticking withSmiley Wink

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I’m impressed with the amount of different oils found in the Lapcos mask @eshoe ! Sounds like a great mask to use in bed... I like to fall asleep with a sheet mask on! We don’t have the Neogen products available at Sephora Canada 🇨🇦, I really wish they carried it ! I’ve read great reviews about their different products. I’m sorry that the OOZOO mask serum was kind of spider 🕷 🕸 webby and that alcohol was the 4th ingredient !

🕷🕷🕷 !

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Ahhhhhhh @keana1 even looking at emojis of spiders gives me shivers!!! Will Amazon ship them to you?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I think they’re available either at Peach&Lily or RoseRose Shop? @eshoe ( I put the spiders to make you cringe, sorry 😝 )

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

It worked @keana1😂 it will every time!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I won’t do it again @eshoe !

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@eshoe Such great masking sessions! It's too bad the Oozoo mask has alcohol, but it sounds like it was great nonetheless!

I've tried the Oozoo Bear Water Bang mask and definitely loved it! I have one more Oozoo Bear Mask to try and I also have the Oozoo Rose Fresh Capsule high up on my list of masks to buy!! 👍

It's so funny that you described the Lapcos mask as having a "hippie" scent! Haha! – when I put on the Hello, Calm mask, my husband told me I smelled like a hippie! 😂 (no offense to the lovely hippies out there! This was not meant as an insult in any way – I love you guys!)😉😊

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Lol @Shosh85 I think I’ve fallen down a rabbit trail of those scents...the Hello Calm started it all! Then it was the Velvet perfume. This mask just fit right in😊

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Love your masking choices @eshoe and the combination of gentle exfoliation, sheet mask and lip mask. The stringy-ness of the Oozoo mask doesn't sound very appealing and I completely understand you being a little weirded out by it; I would be as well. I have this mask in my bin but I don't think it's moving on up in the queue anytime soon. In fact, I may just move it on back. LOL! Smiley Wink I am, however, going to try to use the rose mask later this week.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you, @itsfiSmiley Happy I was so happy to take the Neogen out of hibernation, it is so, so nice! Yeah I just don’t get why alcohol needs to be so prominent in cosmetics. Extending shelf life? Cost? Anyhow, I could go on because it’s just so annoying😖 If you haven’t tried the Rose mask yet, I think you are in for a treat (at least I hope so!).
