Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

 Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options
 

There are 2 ways to edit a response: 

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

Choose mask, take picture (with mask on or before), place mask on face, relax and dream of the next Sephora purchase you want to make, remove mask for healthier skin.

It’s really not as bad as it sounds, @keana1! One large drawer in my bathroom vanity houses all but my Skyn eye gels and a couple of unopened backup boxes (that I forgot to include😆). Now I am guessing that @sonnydee has a truly impressive collection😉

 170 sheet masks in a drawer does not look like 170 sheet masks

I counted the number of sheet masks I have left: 61 @eshoe ! So I have enough until mid February since I use 1 every second day ! I won’t be buying more until I finish them because I decided to be on a low buy for now 😬 ! I have yet to receive the things I bought during the Rouge sale !

Awesome, @keana1! My last items arrived today, I’m going to get a wee bit of a head start with some leeway for Black Friday (hoping to focus only on gifts for that, though!).

I’m doing the same @eshoe ! If DECIEM is having a Black Friday sale like last year, the deals were amazing and the products available are my daily HG items! I don’t know what will happen this Black Friday because of the administrative shuffle that went on recently?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

My bathroom vanity is very small and the drawers are quite narrow @eshoe but the bathtub is big! 😂 I can store myself and someone else in there LOL 😝!

Wow @eshoe, that's impressive! I don't think my supply will last me through May; maybe through March(?) - raises a good point that I should check.  I'll likely end up canceling my Facetory sub early next year. I find that I don't reach for the masks as often as I reach for other masks, or even as often as I come on this thread and scour through old posts looking for a new mask to try. 😉

Have you tried any other mask subs, @itsfi? I know @KrishAtl likes Beautique and Masking Maven(?) but I haven’t tried them.

@eshoe, Facetory is the only mask subscription I've tried. I looked into those other two sub boxes but ultimately decided on Facetory. I like learning about new masks through the sub box, but at the same time, I feel like I may be able to discover new masks through this thread, the haul threads, and on my own through various websites and some local boutiques that carry sheet masks. Also, I think in 2019, I might make a slight change to the ratio of new masks to tried-and-true masks I use on a weekly basis. I've recently hauled a handful of Leaders masks, a box of the When 10:00PM and Tatcha from Costco and have quite a few I've found at TJ Maxx / Marshalls (both new ones and ones I know I like), so I feel like I have enough that I'm not wanting for masks and can take the time to curate some masks myself. I haven't decided whether to just forego the mask subscriptions; we'll see - I have some time to figure this out. 🙂

And yet, @GG84, when I go through them each week to plan my masking, I feel like my options are limited🙄. I don’t want to use the good masks so I can save them for a ‘special occasion’ and I don’t want to use the masks I didn’t like but have 4 or 9 of because I bought a multipack! 💗ing this week’s challenge!!

QUE BELLA PROFESSIONAL Foaming Volcanic Ash Clay Sheet Mask 

This is a black cotton sheet mask that had a refreshing and pleasant papaya scent upon opening the package. The smell actually kind of surprised me a little because all of the foaming/bubble masks I've ever tried have smelled like dish soap to me. The fit wasn't bad – just long around the chin area and a little too wide. The mask slowly started foaming as soon as I put it on. The eye holes on this one seemed to be bigger than most masks, which I liked, especially in this case, because it helped to keep foam out of my eyes. As the foam grew, I could feel a sort of tickle and tingle – some may not like that feeling, but I kinda did because felt like it was really deep cleaning. I kept it on for about 15 minutes, when foam started dripping from my chin, haha! I removed it and rinsed the rest of it off with warm water. My face looked brighter and felt so soft and smooth. My complexion looked bright, clean and clear. As most bubble masks I've used though, this made my face feel dry and a little tight. I just dabbed on some moisturizer and I was good to go!

Out of all the full-face bubble sheet masks I've used, this is definitely my favorite!

I don't think I would go out of my way to repurchase this mask, (or any bubble mask for that matter) but I'd use it again for sure!👍

well the scent you are describing sounds delicious! lol @Shosh85 I've only tried one bubble mask and it's the Glamglow one, they are different for sure!

@lmaster Which GlamGlow bubble mask did you try? The InstaMud or the Bubble Sheet? The Bubble Sheet mask is one of the first ones I tried, and now know it's really not the best bubble mask for a first timer, just because the bubbles are much more aggressive compared to the others I've tried.

I really enjoyed the papaya scent! I've never had a bubble mask smell this good, haha! 😍

Honestly, I wouldn't encourage you try them unless you know you really don't mind them. I know a lot of people can't stand them and I don't ever go out of my way to buy them.

If you want to try some others, I'd go with the kind that start below the eyes – definitely a more pleasant bubble experience. (I can't remember the name of the one I tried, but I think @itsfi may know the name of one! 

Also, the "foaming" masks don't seem to be as aggressive and just sort of move slower than most "bubble" masks, so those may be a little better to start with.

I don't know if you've ever tried any traditional style bubble masks (non-sheet mask) but these are also a little nicer because you have more control over it can put it where you want. Two that I can't think of off the top of my head is the InstaMud and Bliss Triple Oxygen Mask. 🤗👍

@lmaster, I agree with @Shosh85, for me, the foaming masks (rinse off masks) are preferred over the bubble (sheet) masks. If I want to go for the bubble sheet masks, I like the ones that just cover the portion of the face below the eyes. In terms of foaming masks, ones that I like are GLAMGLOW - INSTAMUD 60 Second Pore-Refining Treatment, belif Pore Cleaner Bubble Foam 3.38 oz/ 100 mL, or the Bliss Triple Oxygenating Mask. The GlamGlow and Belif products are available at Sephora; the Bliss one I've found at TJ Maxx/Marshalls but I see that they are also available in store or online at Target as well.

For half face bubble sheet masks, I like the TonyMoly one - it's a charcoal mask that covers the bridge of the nose and then the area below the eyes; it's available in store and online at Ulta. Berrisom also makes some half face bubble sheet masks that look good, but I have not tried those out yet - you can pick those up online at facetory(dot)com and yesstyle(dot)com - but the latter one is shipping from overseas so that may take some time - also for yesstyle be sure to check on page for the product when it will ship (it's either within a day or 2, within 7 days or 21 days) - if you have multiple products in an order, they only ship when all products become available for shipment. I also think I've seen Berrisom masks online at Forever21.

I'll have to go there when my Triple Oxygen Mask runs out!👌 @lmaster  I also wanted to add, you can find the Berrisom Oops Soda Bubble Masks on Amazon and I just found that they are BOGO 1/2 of at Kohls(dot)com. 😉
