Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Spoiler

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Additional Info:

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options

There are 2 ways to edit a response:

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Yep, @Shosh85-in fact the only Oozoo mask I haven’t loved is the Pore one, only because it caused a breakout. The In-Shot ones are great so far (have a couple more to try but the Nutrients one was superb). Also the capsule line is great-I have the honey and cocoon ones to try but the Rose one was outstanding. Wish they weren’t as $$ though for an everyday mask 🙄

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hey, I just tried that for the first time last week, @Aaliaa! Really impressed with the results and how my skin looks in makeup now. How often do you do it?

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

About every 3 weeks. I've always had facial hair and have waxed my face for about 15 years. @scott1201 introduced dermaplane to me and I'm loving it. No worry about pulling on skin, redness and breaking out. I find my skincare absorbs better and makeup sits better. I have actually once dermaplaned the area around my ankle (my razor broke and the dress I was wearing showed the ankle and I definitely needed to shave!) @eshoe

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hey, well I just readjusted the shape of my brows accidentally while dermaplaning tonight, @Aaliaa@scott1201@keana1 thank goodness for all the fancy brow-filling tools, no one noticed😆 This may become the mightiest tool in my beauty arsenal...it’s so versatile and multi-functional! @Loretta55 would love to know how your set is working out, I may need to upgrade at some point.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh no!! I for ages avoided anywhere near my eyebrows. I've tried to clean up the top, but I'm just too scared. Hopefully it will grow back soon @eshoe!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Sorry about your eyebrows @eshoe. I have been using Revitabrow because I over tweezed my eyebrows sand I really see a difference. I wish the cost was cheaper but I have it ordered with auto delivery at Dermstore so I receive a small discount.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks for the tip, @Loretta55. Fortunately it was my ‘bad eyebrow’ so at least I still have one good one😂

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I am very happy with my purchase @eshoe. I dermaplaned only on areas that were not close to my hairline or eyebrows because I am a klutz.

The only drawback with dermaplaning is my face is itchy but it never looked better.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hopefully it doesn’t stay itchy for too long, @Loretta55. I imagine you hydrate pretty good afterwards, too! Thanks for letting me know😊

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hah! That’s a great story, @Aaliaa. Maybe I should carry a face razor in my emergency makeup bag.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

A mini size one , maybe 2”, with a 1” comb, would be great, @scott1201. Perfect. I bet there is one already out there.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Haha, I should have added I wouldn't recommend it. I nicked myself more then usual @scott1201

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Spoiler

I squeezed in a masking session before dinner tonight.  I started with the O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Face Peel. I’ve posted about this before; it’s not bad, just okay. I prefer the PTR FirmX Peeling Gel over this one but am working on trying to finish up the product.  After, I reached for the Sephora Collection Pomegranate Face Mask – its purpose is described as anti-fatigue and energizing. The energizing part is what drew me to this particular sheet mask.

There’s a fresh scent to the mask when you first open the packet. There’s not a lot of excess essence in the pouch but the mask itself seems fairly saturated with essence – not so much that it is dripping everywhere but enough to add a little weight to the already slightly-thicker-than-most-standard-sheet-masks. Fit and adherence was good; I only needed to make a few minor adjustments to the mask, in the usual spots. I left the mask on for a half an hour, 10 minutes longer than the suggested time. After removing it, my skin felt a little more hydrated and looked a bit brighter. The pomegranate mask isn’t a bad mask at all.  Quite the contrary; it’s a pretty good mask. It just suffers from having other masks that do a better job at hydrating and brightening. I personally find that the pearl face mask does a better job at brightening and the honey face mask and the coconut face masks are the better choices in this line when it comes to hydrating and moisturizing the skin.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi I have tried this mask and have pretty much the same feelings; pretty decent, just not the best. 😉👍

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@Shosh85

Yeah, it's in the middle tier of the Sephora face masks - not bad, but not great!  Sephora has a lot of good face sheet masks so it's got some competition. 🙂
