Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

I went for a bubbling mask for this week's mask challenge.  Happy Monday!!

While I’m generally not a fan of bubbling sheet masks (mainly because of how the bubbles can come awfully close to my eyes or may get into them), there have been two I’ve used in the past that I have repurchased, including this one - the Shangpree Sparkling Mask. TonyMoly makes one that covers about 3/4 of the face and thankfully begins below the eyes. Unlike the TonyMoly one, the Shangpree mask covers the entire face. The fit of this mask is pretty good, both in terms of width and length, but since I did not want the bubbles to get into my eyes, or mouth for that matter, I made several adjustments to the mask immediately after I put it on – first, I cut across the bridge of the nose and the outer corners of the eye and lifted/folded those portion of the mask up so that it sat above my brows. Then I snipped the mask at the corner of my lips and folded the mask away from my mouth. Then, I sat back for 10 minutes and waited for the bubbles to foam.

The mask has a clean, soapy-ish, fruity-sweet scent, which is fitting given that it is made up of blackberries, carbonated bubbles, and charcoal.   The scent fades away which I was happy with because while not offensive, there’s something about the sweetness of the fragrance in this mask that I don’t care for.  The directions say to cleanse and tone your face before applying this mask but I prefer to use this one in the mornings and then follow up with toner and the rest of my skincare after using it. 

Unlike other sheet masks where you pat or tap the essence into your skin until it has been absorbed, with this Shangpree Sparkling Mask, after the mask bubbles up, you remove the mask, massage the bubbles that remain as you would a cleanser and then wash off the bubbles.  The results are clean, cleansed skin that looks brighter and feels softer and more smooth.  It leaves your face the perfect canvas for the rest of your skincare routine.

@itsfi I actually really like bubble masks– this one looks and sounds great! I also really like the sound of the Tony Moly mask starting below the eyes! I will definitely have to try it out sometime! 👌🤗

I'm a little behind posting last week's masks. I don't think I'll buy the yes to eye masks again. I just wasn't impressed. The rest of them I'd probably get again.

Closing out the week with these lovelies ...

The Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial, the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, the Sephora Collection Honey Lip Scrub and the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask are all favorites of mine.  I have full sizes of both sleeping masks and will pick up a full size of the DE Babyfacial at the fall sale.  The Laneige Water Pocket Sheet Mask Water Bank is new to me.  I just removed it and oh my goodness!!!  ❤️ ❤️ ❤️  I can't recall a thinner or softer sheet mask.  Nor can I recall one that fits my face so well.  I made a couple, very minor adjustments so it would lay better against my skin, but that was it. 

One side of the sheet mask, the side to be applied against the skin, has a textured pattern to it, and this side is protected by netting when you first remove the sheet mask from the packet. I could not detect any noticeable fragrance. There's the slightest bit of of extra essence in the packet and I ended up applying the extra essene to my face on top of the mask. 

This mask adheres well to the skin and stays in place - felt like nothing next to my skin. Left it on for 25 minutes and when I removed it, nearly all the essence had been fully absorbed into my skin.  My skin feels soft, bouncy and moisturized; I don't think I'll need a moisturizer; instead, I'll just apply the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask before I go to bed tonight.  This sheet mask is definitely a repurchase.

@melissabt you were so right about this sheet mask - it is amazing!!!  🙂  LOVE!!

Each of these masks has tabs with an "L" and "R" label on them, to identify which is meant for your left hand/foot and which is meant for right hand/foot.  The labels can be removed to reveal tape underneath that you can use to secure the masks.  The masks are not overly large nor are they too small for my hands and feet.  In terms of fragrance, both of these masks smell very nice.  The scent of the foot mask reminds me of lychee fruit - a light, sweet, fruity scent.  The fragrance from the hand mask was more citrusy and reminded me of a pomelo.  The scent is subtle and fresh.  

I followed the instructions and left the masks on for 20 minutes.  Both masks had enough essence in them to cover my hands and feet; there was enough essence that remained on my hands after removing the mask that I could smooth some onto my forearms and elbows.  There was not enough extra essence on my feet to use anywhere else.  

Both my hands and feet feel really soft and moisturized after using the masks.  Daiso inventory varies but I will be hunting down both these masks at the Daiso stores near my house. My recollection is that each of these masks costs $1.50!!! So when I find these masks, I may clean Daiso out of its inventory - hahaha!  I'm planning on working through my sheet mask collection (and limiting my purchases of new sheet masks, but I'm carving out an exception for these Daiso hand and foot masks!)

@eshoe I like to pick up some holiday gifts during the fall/winter sale - Sephora usually has some really nice sets / kits that come out around that time of the year.  Also, if they have it again this year, I'll get a few of the holiday editions of the Sephora hand and foot masks, and the mini set of the Laneige water sleeping mask and lip sleeping mask - these make great gifts in the winter months.

In terms of restocks for myself, I'll probably pick up Olaplex No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5.

Yes, the sets are great for gifting aren't they, @itsfi? I am hoping to find more of the Josie Maran body butter duos in the fall scent/unscented. I like the idea of the Laneige set as well, especially during the winter months. It's funny, many years ago my Mom gave me a face mask for Christmas, something by Tarte I think, for your eyes, it may have been hydrogel. And I thought to myself, what is she telling me, does she think I have bad skin? Now I see she was just looking out for me. Nice that you are doing the same:)

Thanks @Shosh85!  I'm impressed by the Laneige sheet mask.  If I hadn't just put myself on a "personal challenge" to go through my sheet masks before purchasing anymore (Daiso hand and foot masks being the exception - ha!), I would re-purchase the No. 4 and purchase a few of the other ones in the line.  😉
